As someone who loves the entirety of Capcom's beloved survival horror series (I even played the VR version of the fourth game), I'd say the Resident Evil 4 remake isn't just a revitalization of a horror classic, but an improvement on one of the most groundbreaking games ever made. However, the dreary atmosphere of the original has lost some of its fear factor, not only because of its action focus but also because of its older visuals. Fortunately, the remake brings it back into the modern era, bringing one of the best horror games back to its full glory, and you can score a copy at its cheapest price - right before Requiem finally launches.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the best in the series, and now super cheap

In the seven or eight hours it takes to complete the original Resident Evil 4, you will find more imagination, variety, and creative ambition than in any days-long open-world game. The mechanics are simple. The gunplay is clean. But it moves, with great energy and pace, from one visionary set piece to another. Resident Evil 9 is presumably in the pipeline. A remake of Code Veronica also seems possible. But if you're craving more RE and you've already dusted the superlative original Resident Evil 4 dozens of times, the remake is also an absolute blast. The 2005 game will always win out, but especially now that it's super cheap, the new Resident Evil 4 is a fantastic companion piece.

Some of the best Resident Evil games are 75% off, for a weird reason

When the Resident Evil 4 Remake came out last year, it enjoyed pretty much the same level of success as the original all those years ago. Resident Evil 4 Remake just became the hardest horror game ever

The original Resident Evil 4 is one of the best videogames ever made. Excelling at both tense action set pieces and a consistently entertaining horror comedy tone, the 2005 game is a standout in creator Capcom's body of work - which means a lot from the studio and publisher responsible for Dragon's Dogma 2, Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil 2, and so much more. Last year's Resident Evil 4 Remake may not reach quite the same lofty heights as the original, but it's also a good game on its own merits, especially with regards to its redesigned gunplay. Now, thanks to a randomization mod called Biorand 4, fans of its approach to survival horror fights can explore the game's systems even further, turning RE4 Remake into a brutally difficult experience.
