Night of the Slayers – 27 November Date and Next Steps

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]We want to address the 27 November date you saw on the store page and explain what happened. There has been a long period of silence, and delaying so close to that date was not respectful to those who have been waiting for the game. We are sorry for that.[/p][p]For a long time the team has been fully focused on production work: handling code and assets, finishing game-ready models, cleaning up scripts, and developing the new survivors and hunters. That focus explains the lack of communication, but it does not excuse it.[/p][p]On Steam it is not possible to change your release date if there are fewer than 14 days left. We realised that we needed more time when there were already about 11 days remaining. At that point the date could no longer be moved, so the page continued to show 27 November and the extra visibility around that date was effectively wasted. This was our mistake.[/p][p]The build we had at that time was not stable or polished enough for an early access release. Serious issues appeared while preparing a test build, and several core systems and content still need more work before the game can represent what we are aiming for.[/p][p]Our internal goal is to finish the remaining work and have a solid, playable build around the end of this year. This is a goal, not a promise. We will only set a new public date on Steam after a build has passed our own internal testing.[/p][p]The project is very much alive and development is continuing every day. If you would like to support us while we work toward release, you can help a lot by:[/p][p]• Wishlisting and following Night of the Slayers on Steam[/p][p]• Following the Vice Mask Games curator page on Steam[/p][p]• Joining our official Discord server to share feedback and follow development more closely[/p][p]Thank you for your patience and for still caring about Night of the Slayers.[/p][p]Vice Mask Games / Alp Developers of Night of the Slayers[/p][p][/p]

DEVLOG #4 – Escape Vehicle: The School Bus

Hello everyone,

We’re introducing a new interactive escape feature currently in development: the school bus. This isn’t just another background element. It’s being built as a fully usable escape vehicle in Night of the Slayers.

The bus is designed as a team-focused alternative escape option. With two working doors, a fully walkable interior, and a heavier driving feel, it offers a different experience compared to other vehicles. Players will need to locate fuel and a missing wheel to get it running.

Once operational, the bus can break through a secured exit barrier. It’s not built for risky solo plays. Instead, it’s meant to support a more cooperative and fun experience, helping the team move together and stand stronger against the hunter.

DEVLOG #3 – Lobby Mini-Game: Raccoon Runner

Hello everyone,

While our main focus remains on developing the core gameplay, we’ve added a small feature to improve the lobby experience: Raccoon Runner, a lightweight mini-game that helps pass the time while waiting for other players.

What you can try right now:

Jump using mouse click, Spacebar, or the Up Arrow key

High-score tracking

Retro 8-bit style visuals

Collapsible window inside the lobby UI

We’re currently improving the panel’s toggle behavior and general UI transitions. Final layout may change slightly based on your feedback.

DEVLOG #2 – Multiplayer Lobby System Improvements

Hello everyone,

We hope you're doing well. We're excited to introduce a set of major improvements to the multiplayer lobby system in Night of the Slayers.

With our new Region Manager and custom server list interface, players can now manually select their preferred region and browse available game rooms through a responsive, in-game UI. The system also includes various filtering options such as region-based sorting, ping display, and room availability indicators.

This update is powered by Photon PUN’s global infrastructure, which ensures better latency and more stable matchmaking across all supported regions.

You now have greater control over how you connect to matches, making it easier to team up with nearby players and enjoy smoother co-op sessions.

As always, we welcome your feedback on our Steam forums or Discord server.
