Cities: Skylines goes free-to-play for the weekend alongside Sunset Harbor's launch

If you're looking at another weekend indoors, Colossal Order and Paradox have a big weekend ahead for Cities: Skylines enthusiasts new and old. Not only has the Sunset Harbor release date landed today, the base game is free-to-play for the weekend, and a host of additional content is now on a steep discount for the next few days.

You can download and play Cities: Skylines via Steam right now, and enjoy as much as you can manage for the next three days. If you like what you play, you can grab the base game at a whopping 80% discount, which brings the price down to $5.99 / £4.59 / €5.59. You can also get substantial savings on all previous DLC, if you need to fill out your collection.

If you're interested in new stuff, Sunset Harbor brings a varied selection of transportation upgrades and aquatic endeavours to your city. Another two DLC packages have launched alongside the expansion - a Modern Japan content creator pack highlights 20 new buildings from modder Ryuichi Kaminogi, while the Coast to Coast radio option adds some new tunes to enjoy.

Get Cities: Skylines for $1, and most of its expansions for $18

If you're looking to dive into Cities: Skylines for the first time or want to catch up on its mountain of DLC, there's a heck of a Humble Bundle for you. The Humble Cities: Skylines bundle makes both the base game and most of its major DLC expansions cheaper than ever before, so you can get more bang for your city-building buck.

For $1 on the Humble Store, you can get Cities: Skylines and its Deep Focus Radio DLC. Beat the average price (currently $8.69) and you'll get the Snowfall and Natural Disasters expansions, plus Concerts and High-Tech Buildings DLC. Pay the full $18, and you'll get the Mass Transit, Green Cities, Industries, and Campus expansions, plus Art Deco and European Suburbia DLC.

That full package gets you six of the nine major expansions for Cities: Skylines (plus some smaller DLC) at a pretty impressive price. Price tracker IsThereAnyDeal shows that none of those expansion packs has been offered for sale under $5 individually, so this is an order of magnitude cheaper than any previous deal.

Global Build-off: PDXCON Remixed edition - April 14th to April 29th, 2021

Nowadays “eco-friendly” has become more than a catchphrase. Urbanists and architects are innovating every day to help our cities develop in more sustainable ways, reduce our carbon footprint and bring back nature in urban areas.
Suburbs are often an afterthought, yet it can be challenging to build green suburbs because of more limited access to services and shops, lack of public transportation and disparition of farm land and forests.

What: Design an eco-friendly suburban area. No use of mods allowed.
When: submission period: April 14th, 2021, 4pm CEST to April 28th, 2021, 10pm CEST
Where: Submit your screenshots and description in the dedicated forum thread

Competition rules
Submission thread
