Patch 1.0.7 - Minor Fixes

For our one-week anniversary, we have... another small patch!
These are probably going to be reducing in frequency now that the game has stabilized substantially.

Patch Notes 1.0.7

Fixed instances of dialogue scenes not starting properly sometimes
Fixed crashing issue when pressing “Next Unit” immediately as the player phase starts
Fixed controller binds not saving sometimes
Fixed instances of low FPS on deployment phase
Fixed issues with the “Here Comes the Cavalry” achievement
Fixed rare instance of items having negative stacks after events where you donate items
Gaining money from an item in the middle of an event allows you to select options you couldn’t previously afford
You can no longer choose to send your Unit’s equipped weapon to the Caravan when getting an item with a full inventory
Game text and UI tweaks

We are still trying to investigate why the game is having trouble on some people's Steam Decks. Truth be told, some of us on the dev team have Steam Decks and the game works fine on those, so it's been a tricky one to solve. Please let us know as many details as you can if you're trying to play the game on a Steam Deck and the game locks up.

Patch 1.0.6 - Minor Fixes

Hello, the save system seems to be stable now, so we are back to focusing on fixing regular bugs.

 • Fixed another possible cause for people’s weirdly low FPS
 • Fixed instances of items getting deleted when accessing the Caravan inventory from an individual Unit’s Items menu

 • Fixed some camera issues when starting an Encounter
 • Potentially fixed some instances of broken inputs on Steam Deck
 • Minor UI tweaks

Patch 1.0.5 - Minor Fixes

Hello, it seems yesterday's patch was received well. We're still hard at work fixing bugs, but here's what we've got this morning.

Patch 1.0.5
 • Fixed more instances of completing Objectives not ending the Encounter, let us know if this is still happening to you
 • Fixed issue where the music would sometimes not resume properly upon loading a run
 • Fixed issue where certain menus sometimes would not open or close properly upon loading a run
 • Fixed some game text
 • Reworded the objective text on the “Imperial Cemetery” map to urge players to hurry to the exit
 • Minor UI tweaks

Patch 1.0.4: The Big Fix

Hello everyone, we’re really sorry that some of you ran into problems with saving and loading your game mid-run. With the runs being as long as they are, it is incredibly important that they work properly. Truth be told, this proved to be a more complicated issue than we were expecting. This feature was working for us devs and beta playtesters, so we were surprised to see some people having terrible issues with it. We are truly sorry about that and we thank you so much for your patience these last few days.

So, we hunkered down and rewrote the saving and loading system. It’s now way more stable and less sensitive to error. Some playtesters in the community have even claimed it has fixed previously softlocked save files. We’d like to believe the problem has been solved now, but we’d still like crash reports if they happen.

Thank you so much for your support!

Of course, that’s not the only thing this patch fixes.

Patch Notes 1.0.4
Big Fixes
• Fixed issues with save corruption
 • Fixed issue where the difficulty level would sometimes not load properly mid-run
 • Fixing crashing occasionally after getting a random event (“!”) on the world map between encounters
 • Fixed getting weirdly low framerate sometimes
 • Attempted to fix occasionally not finishing an Encounter after completing its objective
Other Fixes
• Fixed issue where having multiple Send-Item-To-Caravan menus in a row would softlock the game
 • Fixed issues with swapping mounts in the Caravan
 • Fixed not being able to close certain locked tooltips
 • Fixed the red outlines that occasionally appears on player units
 • Fixed Memories that change a stat during a certain phase that were applying to enemies
 • Fixed “Mindfulness” Memory not healing units to full
 • Fixed Maia’s mounted animations
 • Fixed Marionette not getting automatically removed from the encounter when dying during Player Phase
 • Fixed Marionette not getting put the Caravan at the end of an Encounter if Maia's inventory is full
 • Fixed issues with Aniara’s “Transfusion” skill
 • Fixed a very rare case where one of the three skills at level-up would not appear
 • Fixed “Sell” button in shop not appearing sometimes
 • Fixed being able to close the Caravan menu while in shop sometimes
 • Attempted to fix camera being close to the ground sometimes (if this ever happens to you, just try playing normally, it should fix itself)
 • Unaligned reinforcements now have a differently coloured reinforcement warning (white instead of red)
 • Unchecking edge panning in the control settings allows your cursor to leave the window
 • Minor graphical and UI tweaks
Balance Changes
• Draco’s “Wager” now grants 1 Chip per successful roll instead of 2
 • Draco’s “Gentleman’s Game” now grants 2 stacks of “Wager” instead of 1 and its cooldown has increased from 3 to 4
 • Draco’s “Strike a Bet” now grants 2 stacks of “Wager” instead of 1
 • Draco’s “High Stakes” now loses 2 Chips per unsuccessful roll instead of 1
 • The Marionette item is now destroyable, and destroying the item will remove Marionette as a Unit from your team
 • Final boss’s “Saprophyte” skill now grants +2 bonus to each stat instead of +1
 • Tweaked encounters you could get in Act 3

We’re still working on these issues:
 • Improving Knight and Battlemage-type Units
 • Balancing Encounter difficulty
 • Adding a sort button the caravan
 • Fixing the music not resuming properly when loading the game sometimes
 • Very rarely when Saving a downed unit, then quitting and loading again will cause the game to think that unit is still around in a weird (but not game-breaking) way
 • Some of you just can’t control the game at all. This is a tough one, but we’re working on it

Bugfix Patch 1.0.3

Hello everyone. We sincerely apologize for the save game issues that have been plaguing some of you.
We’re trying the best we can to address them, and it’s hopefully coming to a close soon.

Patch 1.0.3 Notes
 • Attempted to fix an issue where difficulty levels were not loaded properly
 • Fixed an issue where sometimes you could get the same encounter more than once in a run
 • Fixed an issue where upon load, the music might not resume properly
 • Fixed a possible issue where the main menu on the title screen would not open
 • Fixed an issue where the “Kingmaker” achievement would not trigger
 • Added the option to send your error logs directly upon failure to load save file

So, instead of seeing an unhelpful “💀 Dang” as the only button, you see this:

Though we might still ask you to send your log files from time to time.

And if your difficulty level doesn’t load properly, you’ll see this icon:

So let us know if you do.
When loading, it might be that icon for a second or two, and then pop to its proper icon if it was able to properly load the difficulty. So don’t be alarmed if it’s like that for a second.

This (and future) patches should not corrupt your run save. If your run save is corrupted, please let us know. You can post on the forum, join our discord or email to us: [email protected]
Your report will be extra helpful if you include:
The version number (on the bottom right of the title screen)
A screenshot (or even a video recording if you can manage)
What was going on at the time (e.g. enemy phase, in the world map, etc)
What actions you were doing (e.g. hitting the end phase button, initiating combat, etc)

If you want to be really helpful, you could go into C:\Users\\AppData\LocalLow\Zero Sun Games\Astral Throne and attach the “Player.log” file to your message.
And if you want to be extra extra helpful, if you haven't started a new game yet, you could zip up that entire save folder and send it to us.

Thank you!
