Devlog #3 - The Game is Now Farmbotic: Name Change & TGS Update

Howdy partners!
[p][/p][p]Pull up a hay bale and settle in, 'cause we've been busier than a one-legged cat in a sandbox and we've got some mighty big news to share today! We're talking a new name, new profiles on X and Facebook, shiny new screenshots, and some photos from our trip to Tokyo Game Show 2025! [/p][p]We're so grateful for all your support, and we can't wait to show you what we've been working on.[/p][p][/p]
Farmbotic - A New Name on the Barn Door
[p][/p][p]You might be asking, why the new name? Well folks, it all comes down to one thing: BOTS! When we first showed off concept art, screenshots and trailer, we were amazed by how much everyone loved our little robotic helper. It made us realize that the bots and automation aren't just a feature; they are the heart and soul of the game you'll be playing.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]That’s why we wanted a name that better reflects this focus. Farmbotic just clicked (Farming + Robotic)! It clearly communicates the high-tech, automated farming experience we are building - but not a soulless one. This game is all about creating your futuristic homestead with the help of your trusty robotic companion, and we feel this new name captures that spirit perfectly.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Come Say Howdy on Social Media!

[p][/p][p]A devlog just wouldn't be complete without some new pictures, would it? Here’s a peek at what you'll see when you're gettin' your hands dirty in the first-person view.[/p][p][/p][p]And here's how things look when you step back to admire your farmer and all their hard work.

Devlog #2 - Machines and Automation!

Hello and Welcome!
[p]It’s been nearly a month since we showed the first information about Farmatic to the world, and now we have even more details for you to dive in and explore![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]With the start of the Steam Automation Fest, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to talk a bit about the things you can automate. In this Devlog, we will tell you about the machines and the automation loop. We also want to mention that all the information about the features we’ll be talking about is subject to change before the game comes out.[/p][p][/p]
Automation Loop
[p][/p][p]With the machines now known to you, we have one more thing to show you. We’ve prepared a small diagram to show you how the machines can work in a loop to fulfil your requested crafting queue.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Please remember that the loop may change before the release of the game.[/p][p][/p]
Machines
[p][/p][p]Before we discuss the automation loop, let me introduce you to some of the machines that you’ll be able to place in the fantastic world of Farmatic.[/p][p][/p]
Water pump
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Most of your machines require power and water to operate fully. To obtain water, you’ll need to construct a water pump and connect it to all the machines using water pipes.[/p][p][/p]
Power
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]You’ll have different types of power generators in the game. One of which will be a solar panel, which will work only during the day and will keep your machines operational for most of the time.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The other type of generator is a wind turbine. They’ll generate more electricity than the solar panels; in turn, they’ll be able to keep more of your machines powered.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]To transport power between generators and machines, you’ll need to set up a network of electric poles. Every pole has its area of effect, and you’ll need to put quite a few of them to keep all your machines running.[/p][p][/p]
Smelter
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Let’s start with something that most of you already know. The smelter will be one of the most important machines that you’ll be able to build. It takes raw ores, fuel, and water to create ingots of metals that will be processed further in other machines.[/p][p][/p]
Hub
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]A hub will be the most essential part of your machine collection. It’ll serve as a well… Hub for your Farmbots. Here, you’ll be able to see all the available information about the work area of your bots, their charge level, how much water and power your machines consume, and it also functions as a small storage. It’s worth mentioning that the Hub connected to the storage will be able to transport some of the harvested plants back into the primary storage.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Assemblers
[p] The assemblers are used to automatically craft better crafting components from metals and various bio materials that can be grown on your farm. Like every other machine, they require power and water to function, in addition to the required materials.[/p][p][/p]
Pipes
[p][/p][p][/p][p]To connect every machine’s item and water input and output, you’ll need to place specialised pipes (different types for water and another for items). You’ll also be able to build a splitter, which will be used to split the item transition. You can put it at the output of your storage to have only one pipe leading to different machines!. Or you can place a pipe connector, which will connect a few pipes into one output.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p][p]And with that in mind, we’ve arrived at the end of this Devlog! I hope that we’ve managed to capture your attention with our machines! As always, thank you for staying with us until the end. Expect more Devlogs about Farmatic in the future![/p][p][/p][p]If you want more information or just to keep up with us, be sure to join our Discord and follow us on our Social Media![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Cheers![/p][p]~Dev Team[/p]

Devlog #1 - Welcome to the World of Farmatic!

Hello and Welcome!
[p]We’re so excited to show you Farmatic finally! We hope that you’ve enjoyed our short trailer showcase on IGN Live, and you can’t wait to see more of our awesome game![/p][p][/p][p]If you haven't seen it, be sure to jump on and see it for yourselves before reading further![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Also, be sure to check out our Developer's Q&A where Jacob and Alex talk about all the interesting stuff we've prepared for today's special![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]We all know why you’re here, so let’s move to the more interesting stuff inside this devlog![/p][p]First of all, let me explain to you what Farmatic really is all about…[/p][p]In Farmatic, you, as a player, will be experiencing a Farm Life simulation. You’ll need to plant your crops, keep them watered and healthy before harvesting them to make a profit or finish a quest.[/p][p]
Here are just a few out of all the plants in Farmatic![/p][p][/p][p]But there’s more to life than just farming… The second most important thing to do in our game is automation. Prepare yourself for the creation of Farming HUBs, solar panels, furnaces and many more![/p][p][/p][p]But to be able to place such advanced structures, you’ll need to do a few things beforehand to prepare for that task. First and most important, you won’t be able to do it alone. Be sure to get to know your neighbours and other NPCs - after all, some of them might tell you something interesting…[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Aside from the knowledge on how to craft those interesting and handy machines, you’ll also need to have some resources to craft them. Be sure to venture into the mines to gather them! But be careful… The radiation inside the mines has changed some of the creatures living there into mad and scary creatures.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]But don’t worry. We’ve got you covered! Would you prefer a blade or a pistol to defend yourself against such creatures?  And who knows what might you find at the very depths of the mines…[/p][p]
Let’s just say that the weapons have some special properties planned…[/p][p][/p]
[p]\[/p][/p]
[p][/p][p]And with that in mind, we’ve arrived at the end of that devlog! I hope you’ve enjoyed it and that now you understand perfectly what to expect in our game. We can’t wait to show you more of Farmatic, but unfortunately, that’s all we have ready for today. Be sure to add us to your wishlist and prepare to explore the world of Farmatic with up to 3 of your friends next year![/p][p][/p][p]If you want more information or just to keep up with us, be sure to join our Discord and follow us on our Social Media![/p][p] [/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p][p]Cheers![/p][p]~Dev Team[/p]
