“All the moments we’ll never forget”
We're just two weeks away from Wildwood Down's launch, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the crazy journey getting here. The ups and downs, the incredible people we've met, and the opportunities we've been honored to be part of. So here it goes!
• [p]To start back a year or so ago Wildwood Down was chosen to be part of Day of the Devs 2024 in San Fran and we ended up kickin it and BBQ'n with Tim Schafer and it was an amazing time. Later at the event he came through and played our game's demo with his kid. It was such a surreal moment for us as he is one of our childhood heroes with all the Adventure games that he's made and been a part of. To have him watching and enjoying our little Demo was an unreal experience.[/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p]
    [/p]
  • [p]Then we got to be a part of Adventure Game Fan Fair in Washington State and met a lot of other founders of the Adventure Game genre. Sierra Legends like Ken & Roberta Williams (Kings Quest), Al Lowe (Leisure Suit Larry), and tons of other incredible people who worked on those original point-and-clicks. We had Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye playing our Demo there (I was nervous as all get out ːsteamhappyː) So this event was also an incredible memorable time for us and having Dan there at the booth was just a blast! • [p]We had so much fun recording Dan's dialogue lines for the game and hanging out into the wee hours of the night last Christmas season. I'll never forget those nights. ːsteamhappyː[/p]
Watch - Clip of Dan recording dialogue
[p][/p][p][/p]
  • [p]We had an amazing "Steam Next Fest" in February. Live streaming the Demo with Dan right along side us as he pied me and Luke in the face toward the end of our stream. [/p][carousel][/carousel]
[p][/p]
  • [p]Then... A few months ago Dan was diagnosed with cancer and we flew out to the west coast and stayed with him in the hospital. He is now on his way to full recovery and he his home and doing much better.
[/p][p] This was a earth shattering and terrible time and we are so glad Dan is doing better. A lot of fans of Wildwood Down and different voice actors joined in sending Dan gifts and encouraging messages during this time and we will never forget it. You can watch the video below that shows some clips of that time and also some back story and Dan winning and receiving an award for Diversity at the "BIG festival" in brazil. • [p]I recently had the honor of joining a Podcast at "Adventure Game Podcast" to talk about Wildwood Down and tell some stories. You can check that out here if you'd like.[/p]
Wildwood Down on Adventure Game Podcast iTunes Spotify
[p][/p]
  • [p]I'm sure there are 20 other things that will pop in my head once I post this, but for now I just want to say thank you to all the Fans, Friends, Families, Organizations, and everyone that has been with us on this journey! Also... "Hola" to all the new comers that are just discovering the game! [/p][p]We can't wait for you all to play and enjoy "Wildwood Down" in only 2 weeks! (Aug.7th)[/p][p][/p]
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Mad love from us here at Crashable Studios!
