The Stygian: Outer Gods Open Beta - in the form of a Steam Playtest - is now LIVE and is available for everyone to play until Monday, April 7. If you've requested access before, you will now have the "Stygian: Outer Gods Playtest" app in your Steam Library, ready to install and play - otherwise click the "Request Access" button now and you will receive it instantly.



This extended demo offers much more content than the one you may have experienced during the recent Steam Next Fest. You can explore a large part of the town of Kingsport, complete a first major quest of the main story as well as smaller side quests and get to try out and enjoy many of the game's mechanics and features - from exploration, stealth and combat to crafting, improving your abilities, engaging in dialogues with a varied cast of characters, learning some of the game's lore, and much more! But please keep in mind that this is still not the final Early Access release version - there will be significantly more content available when the game launches on April 14, and we are continuously working on improvements, including performance.

And of course, we will be working on improving the game continuously throughout the Early Access period; but in order to make Stygian: Outer Gods the best game that it can be, we need to hear what you think, your suggestions, feedback and reports of any bugs or technical issues you encounter - that's why we have chosen to go the Early Access route after all. We will be reading all comments under this announcement as well as the Steam discussions, but the best way to get in touch is to join the official Discord server, where you can chat with us and other fans of the game directly!

Steel your mind, for soon you will have a chance to peek into the madness preceding the coming of the Black Day, as Stygian: Outer Gods will open the gates to Kingsport this Friday, April 4, and invite all souls brave enough to venture forth and explore the forsaken town. All who enter will have until April 7 to try and open the mystical lock on the gate to the foreboding Brasko family mansion.



In other words, the Open Beta, which features an extended demo of Stygian: Outer Gods, will be available this weekend, from April 4 - 7. It greatly expands on the introductory section which was available as a demo during the recent Steam Next Fest - you will be able to explore a large part of the town of Kingsport, complete a first major quest of the main story as well as smaller side quests and get to try out and enjoy many of the game's mechanics and features.

Since the Next Fest demo, we have been able to polish and tune a lot of small things. Tons of feedback came from our wonderful community, as well as content creators, which we are really thankful for!

The Beta will take the form of a Playtest here on Steam - we encourage everyone to sign up now, using the button on the game's page, so that you get an email notification once the beta goes live this Friday.

Today is a truly momentous occasion, for we are ready to share that we have set a date for the Early Access release of Stygian: Outer Gods - April 14, 2025!

In the Early Access Launch version, you will experience the beginning of your journey, from the arrival to the cursed town of Kingsport, through opening the mysterious Brasko family mansion, exploring the surrounding dark woods, traversing the treacherous mines to visiting the foreboding lighthouse and meeting its strange Keeper. It will be solely up to you whether this will be your path to salvation, or a descend into madness. Is there even a difference? We cannot wait to hear about your choices and your stories from Stygian: Outer Gods. For now, let us watch a short trailer we have prepared to celebrate today's news:

We are overjoyed that so many of you have tried out the first Stygian: Outer Gods demo this past week, and extremely grateful for all the feedback you gave us. The Steam Next Fest event is now over, and we have taken the demo offline as well.

We understand that the very short sample of the atmosphere and story we provided left many of you hungry for more, and we have good news - we are preparing an Open Beta Weekend, during which we will make available a longer gameplay segment for you to enjoy and experience more of what the game will have to offer. We will announce the exact dates as soon as we have all plans finalized, but it will most likely happen in early April.

We will also soon unveil more details about the game's mechanics, the Early Access content, the release date and even an unexpected collab/cameo we arranged for Stygian: Outer Gods and which we are absolutely delighted by - stay tuned!

As we have announced previously, a demo version of Stygian: Outer Gods has gone live for Steam Next Fest and will remain so for the duration of the event, until March 3. The demo covers the very beginning of the story as you embark on your voyage to the cursed town of Kingsport. Our aim is to offer you all a small taste of the mind-bending atmosphere and otherworldly dread the game will bring soon, with just a sample of the game mechanics, like character creation and progression systems, combat, and crafting.

We are still hard at work developing, designing and balancing all its features - while we were happy to provide a larger portion of the game to a select few content creators and gaming journalists, it is not yet suited for a completely public demo; we are still polishing the content and we do not want to risk unleashing more eldritch horrors on the world until we are confident that all pieces are in place so that you can enjoy the descend into the madness of the Outer Gods, whether you survive it or not.
