Greetings, ladies, gentlemen, and any eldritch entities watching us from the void!

Today is a truly momentous occasion, for we are ready to share that we have set a date for the Early Access release of Stygian: Outer Gods - April 14, 2025!

In the Early Access Launch version, you will experience the beginning of your journey, from the arrival to the cursed town of Kingsport, through opening the mysterious Brasko family mansion, exploring the surrounding dark woods, traversing the treacherous mines to visiting the foreboding lighthouse and meeting its strange Keeper. It will be solely up to you whether this will be your path to salvation, or a descend into madness. Is there even a difference? We cannot wait to hear about your choices and your stories from Stygian: Outer Gods. For now, let us watch a short trailer we have prepared to celebrate today's news:

We are overjoyed that so many of you have tried out the first Stygian: Outer Gods demo this past week, and extremely grateful for all the feedback you gave us. The Steam Next Fest event is now over, and we have taken the demo offline as well.

We understand that the very short sample of the atmosphere and story we provided left many of you hungry for more, and we have good news - we are preparing an Open Beta Weekend, during which we will make available a longer gameplay segment for you to enjoy and experience more of what the game will have to offer. We will announce the exact dates as soon as we have all plans finalized, but it will most likely happen in early April.

We will also soon unveil more details about the game's mechanics, the Early Access content, the release date and even an unexpected collab/cameo we arranged for Stygian: Outer Gods and which we are absolutely delighted by - stay tuned!

As we have announced previously, a demo version of Stygian: Outer Gods has gone live for Steam Next Fest and will remain so for the duration of the event, until March 3. The demo covers the very beginning of the story as you embark on your voyage to the cursed town of Kingsport. Our aim is to offer you all a small taste of the mind-bending atmosphere and otherworldly dread the game will bring soon, with just a sample of the game mechanics, like character creation and progression systems, combat, and crafting.

We are still hard at work developing, designing and balancing all its features - while we were happy to provide a larger portion of the game to a select few content creators and gaming journalists, it is not yet suited for a completely public demo; we are still polishing the content and we do not want to risk unleashing more eldritch horrors on the world until we are confident that all pieces are in place so that you can enjoy the descend into the madness of the Outer Gods, whether you survive it or not.

When I caught the first glimpse of Stygian: Outer Gods, I was immediately captivated by the very prominent image of a lighthouse and the promise of eldritch horror. I had made a somewhat hasty assumption that this would be some kind of lighthouse management sim with horror elements—somewhat in the vein of No One Lives Under the Lighthouse. And while my hopes for a video game version of The Lighthouse were dashed against the rocks, having an otherworldly survival horror on offer was a nice consolation prize.

I had been keeping my eye on Misterial Games ever since their other game, Regeneration, found its way onto one of my social media feeds. Despite not really knowing what to expect with Stygian: Outer Gods I was ready for some spooks, and I will admit, this game certainly has the makings for a truly gripping horror experience.

Today is an auspicious day, as we have several significant announcements to make. We will not tempt your sanity by making you wait any longer, so let's dive right into it with a brand-new teaser we have prepared!

Yes, you read that right. Stygian: Outer Gods is joining Steam Next Fest, starting February 24 with a playable demo, which will cover the very beginning of the story as you embark on your voyage to the cursed town of Kingsport. Our aim is to offer you all a small taste of the mind-bending atmosphere and otherworldly dread the game will bring later this year.

But we know you want to see more of the game with your own eyes; so we have partnered with various gaming media and influencers and given them a chance to experience a more significant part of the game and share their impressions with you. You can already watch for example videos by Alpha Beta Gamer or Enfant Terrible, and more articles, videos and livestreams are being posted.

Our aim is to make Stygian: Outer Gods an unforgettable experience. We are using a non-traditional approach to horror, emphasizing the ambient atmosphere and creeping dread of the unknown, rather than setting up jumpscare after jumpscare or flooding the screen with tentacled monstrosities and gore; all the while providing rich gameplay with action, survival and RPG elements. Our design philosophy is to give players the freedom to find their own way through the story, to interact with the world as they choose, and to come up with the tactics and solutions that they enjoy. To that end, we invite you, true Lovecraftian horror enthusiasts, to participate in our development journey; to have a say in how the game is balanced and what features are added, to help us make the most enjoyable experience for you - Stygian: Outer Gods will launch in Steam Early Access this year. We will unveil more details about its content and our plans for the Early Access period as well as the full release soon.
