Favorite Food: Unagi no Kabayaki
Maki was a Tokyo kid with a not-so-typical life. Her mom was out of the picture, and her dad’s demanding job left her feeling like a background character in her own story. Maki felt abandoned and alone, that’s when she found comfort in video games, gaming became her escape. It was a place that gave her a sense of belonging, great online friends and many amazing memories that felt more real than her day-to-day life.
On the outside Maki seemed chill and carefree, always there with a laugh or a joke. But deep down she struggled with insecurities and fears that have lingered since childhood, hiding her vulnerability behind her upbeat personality.
The alien invasion surely scared her, however, she couldn’t help but feel an odd thrill, as if it’s the ultimate test of her gaming instincts in real life. For the first time, she was on a mission that no console or technology could prepare her for.
