Thorough inspections are conducted at designated quarantine stations prior to entry.
If anyone attempts to breach entry procedures or if you witness individuals displaying suspicious symptoms, report them immediately to the NAKWON Governance Committee.[/p][p]The areas outside of Yeouido NAKWON, including expedition zones, are densely populated with the infected.
Please study this guide carefully to ensure your safety.
[/p]
2.1 About the Infected
[p][/p][p]Infected individuals exhibit heightened sensitivity to sound.
Noise in the vicinity agitates them and draws them toward the source.
While they are unable to detect bright light sources such as flashlights, they are highly responsive to movement.
If they spot a moving survivor in their line of sight, they will begin pursuit.[/p][p]
However, due to physical limitations, their focus is limited - if enough distance is gained, they will stop chasing.
Infected entities attack survivors indiscriminately and often bite as a form of assault.
[/p]
2.2 Types of Infected
[p][/p][p]Due to virus' ongoing mutations, new forms of infected continue to appear.
The Committee is actively conducting research into these evolving types.
Currently, the infected are broadly classified into three categories: common infected, aberrant infected, and weakened infected, which can typically be found at infected nests.
[/p]
2.2.1 Common Infected
[p][/p][p]These are the most commonly encountered infected in expedition zones.
While dormant, they remain standing in a hunched position and do not awaken unless exposed to loud noises.
Active infected stand upright, often scanning their surroundings or patrolling a designated area on foot.
[/p]
2.2.2 Aberrant Infected
[p][/p][p]This recently discovered infected types exhibit distinct appearance and unique traits that distinguish them from the ragged appearance of standard infected.
Recognizing each aberrant type is crucial for survival and tactical planning.[/p][p]For example, the “Screamer”(shown on the right) is not particularly dangerous in direct combat.
However, if it detects a survivor, it unleashes a loud scream that draws nearby infected to its location.
It is best to avoid detection or eliminate the Screamer before it becomes aware of your presence.
[/p]
2.2.3 Weakened Infected
[p][/p][p]These infected are found in designated infected nests.
They are confirmed to be older cases, infected for a long period, and as a result, show reduced combat capability.
However, if loud noises are made near their infected nest, many may rush out at once and aggressively charge toward nearby survivors, making them difficult to handle.[/p][p]There have been frequent reports of these infected perishing on their own if they are unable to find a target after dispersing.
It appears these entities may turn on themselves when no external target is available. This phenomenon is currently under investigation.[/p][p][/p]
2.3 About the Virus Infection
[p][/p][p]Infection can occur through simple contact with the infected, and the risk increases significantly when bitten.
Frequent close encounters with infected significantly increase the risk of infection.
It is important to regularly monitor your infection levels during expeditions.
If your infection exceeds a certain threshold, immediate evacuation is strongly recommended.[/p][p]If you encounter this message during an expedition, evacuate the area as quickly as possible.[/p]
