Defense Items Update - Version 0.3.0

Hello everyone,

Version 0.3.0 introduces an overhaul of the satoshi mining system, adjustments to electric systems, and exciting new defense items to Ruins To Fortress. Share your feedback in the comments or on Discord, let us know what you love and what could be improved!

Highlights

New Defense Items:

  • Death Spike: A sharp spike trap that injures anyone who steps on it.
  • Iron Bite: A strong bear trap with reinforced metal teeth, built to wound enemies.
  • Havoc Mine: A pressure-activated explosive that shreds unlucky players who trigger it.
  • Sand Wall: A durable sandbag barrier that shields against bullets and explosions.
  • Bastion: A fortified turret platform that can hold different guns (Pistol, Shotgun, Uzi, AK-47) for defense. Requires electricity and the right ammo to function.
Satoshi Mining system overhaul and Electric systems adjustements:
The Satoshi mining system is a great way to earn in-game currency, and it now unlocks earlier than before, along with many electric items. Satoshis will no longer drop as often. You will need to mine them, grow crops, or sell items at vending machines to earn them.

To make power management easier, essential electric items for building the grid have been moved from Workbench 3 to Workbench 1. Solar panels now generate more electricity, and batteries store more energy, making your power system more efficient.

Mining System Overview
The mining system lets players earn rewards by running mining racks. Each mining rack contributes to the global hashrate, which determines the difficulty and reward distribution.
  • Hashrate & Difficulty: The system adjusts difficulty based on total mining power, keeping rewards balanced.
  • Rewards: Players receive satoshis based on their mining contribution, with bonuses for consistency.
  • Bonuses & Achievements:Mining streaks and catch-up mechanics boost earnings, and players can unlock achievements by accumulating rewards.
  • Live Updates: You’ll receive chat messages updating you on bonuses, milestones, and mining streaks, helping you stay informed.

Keep your miners running, manage power to earn the best rewards!

Bug Fixes & Improvements
  • Fixed a bug where repairing items inside containers, such as chests, was not working.
  • Fixed an issue where, after saving and loading the game, NPCs would not spawn correctly if the in-game days had progressed beyond two. Now, the correct number of NPCs will appear based on the selected difficulty.
  • Fixed item stacking bugs for produced items in planter boxes and other containers.
  • Added new console command "dlc_reload" to restore missing DLC items if they were not granted correctly

Upcoming Features in the Pipeline
  • Explore the new Bunker and Silo System - discover underground bases and hidden loot
  • Raid NPC bases packed with valuable resources and equipment
  • Experience bigger maps with more room to explore and build
  • New biomes and areas to discover, each with unique challenges

Major Update - Version 0.2.0

Hello everyone,

Version 0.2.0 introduces exciting updates to game mechanics and resource management. Share your feedback in the comments or on Discord, let us know what you love and what could be improved!

Highlights

Difficulty Settings: A dropdown menu now controls overall gameplay settings, replacing the day/night cycle and outlaw disable options. Choose from the following:

Easy: No raids, always daytime, stable resources.
Normal: Raids from Day 2, gradual resource decline.
Hard: Raids from Day 1, tougher raids, faster resource decline, no respawns or saves.
Hardcore: Raids from Day 1, tougher raids, one life, resource scarcity, no respawns or saves.

Example for Normal Difficulty:
Day 1: Peaceful exploration
Day 2: The bear raid begins, resources start declining a bit and aggressive NPCs begin to spawn.
Day 3+: NPC raids intensify with grenades.
Day 5+: Raids include C4, making survival even tougher
Day 6+...

A detailed explanation can be found in our wiki.

Raids now start at moonrise, with distinct music playing depending on whether a raid is triggered or it's a peaceful night. The bear attack from placing raw meat in a campfire has been removed, along with the raid triggered by defeating the red soldier near the bunker. Raids are now predictable, providing a clear rhythm and game loop.

We hope that the combination of PvP and PvE game modes, along with the variety of difficulty options, offers something for everyone.

New Vending Machine System: Vending machines are now categorized into Crafting, Food, and Ammunition, making them easier to use and navigate.

Resource Management: Adjusted loot drops, crafting materials, resource costs, and stack sizes to balance loot and prevent inventory overflow.

Weapon Upgrade: Improved firing angles make it easier to hit targets from higher or lower positions.

We are truly excited to hear your thoughts on the changes and the direction we’re taking with the game. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, so please share your impressions with us in the comments, on Discord, or in the Steam Forums!

The game will continue to have the three main modes: PvP (Player vs. Player), PvE (Player vs. Environment), and Deathmatch. These will stay in the game to let players choose how they want to play, whether it's teaming up, fighting other players, or competing in all-out battles.

Bug Fixes & Improvements
- Save game limits can now be set individually
- Peaceful nights and raid events now feature appropriate soundtracks
- Highwalls can no longer be placed too close together
- Placement of large items like beds and large wood boxes is now easier, even near fuse boxes
- Boat Interaction: Entering boats near other items now works as intended
- Fixed translation error when hammer breaks
- Reduced durability wear for tools and weapons
- Balanced weapon stats: pistols are stronger, arrows slightly weaker
- Resolved NPC bug with floating chickens and wandering behavior
- Clearing leftover buildings and floating items better.

Reminder:
-The free early adopter shirt skin drop will no longer be available after this update.
-All Xmas DLC skins, like Santa’s Cap and Evergreen Shirt, will not drop anymore until next Christmas.
-The Xmas Tree will no longer be craftable.

Don't miss out on our Survivors Pack DLC or the stunning Serpent's Dawn Skin Pack.

Happy gaming!
