Dear players,
As many of you are already aware, the full release of Realm of Ink has been delayed, with the new target window set for November 2025. We sincerely apologize to everyone who had been looking forward to the March release. That said, we are committed to making this delay worthwhile. The upcoming version will significantly surpass the original March plans, bringing more content, greater depth, and a more refined overall experience. In this letter, we’d like to provide a clear explanation of the delay and share what you can expect moving forward.
1. A Heartfelt Apology
First and foremost, we want to say sorry to every player who has supported us in the long time—especially those who were expecting the full version in March. We deeply understand your disappointment and frustration.
We also admit that our communication in the past three months has been insufficient. Due to a number of unexpected events—including the Steam takedown, internal adjustments, and new partnership negotiations, we failed to keep everyone updated in time. This information gap understandably led to confusion and concern in the community, and We feel truly sorry for this.
2. Why We Chose to Delay
Our original plan was to launch the full version in March 2025, including four major chapters, the Book Spirit boss, and a fifth final chapter. By January, we had already completed around 70% of development.
However, on January 3rd, the game was suddenly removed from Steam, disrupting everything.
After two intense weeks of communication and appeals, we came to a hard truth: once delisted, it’s extremely difficult for a game to be restored or re-released in its original form. We began preparing for a new relaunch from scratch.
Some suggested we change the name and “rebrand” the game. But would that still be Realm of Ink? Seeing how the takedown affected our players was heartbreaking. After careful discussion, we made a commitment: we would rebuild a better, more expansive version, to repay your patience and support.
Then came another twist. On March 7, Steam unexpectedly restored our store page and put the game back online as it was. But by then, we had already started full development on the upgraded version. We decided to stick to that path and keep building forward.
3. New Rollout Plan: Three Phases
To let you experience the new content earlier, we will release the full version in three phases:
• June 2025 – Two new chapters + system updates
• September 2025 – Two more chapters + additional content
• November 2025 – Final content release + official full launch
These are not just milestones for our team, but promises to you.
4. What’s New in the Full Version?
We’re working hard to make the new Realm of Ink worthy of your wait. Here’s what you can expect:
• 8 mainline chapters (up from 4), with 4 chapters randomly selected for each run.
• 18 bosses in total (up from 9), including a hidden final boss with unique mechanics
• More enemies, systems, and build options to increase strategy and replayability
• Expanded build content and QoL features to boost creativity and ease of play
• A solid content foundation for future expansions and updates
Here’s a comparison table to help you see the difference at a glance:
5. To Everyone Still Waiting
We know that a delay is more than a missed deadline. It brings doubt, disappointment, and uncertainty. We can’t ask for your forgiveness with just a simple “please understand.”
But what we can do is make it right—with time, with content, and with sincerity.
To everyone still waiting: thank you.
Your support is what gave us the courage to reject a “safe” release and instead aim for a version of Realm of Ink that you can truly love again.
Over the coming months, we’ll share updates more frequently, letting you follow the journey and growth of Realm of Ink alongside us.
We hope that when the full version finally arrives in November, you’ll feel that this wait was worth it.
With gratitude,
Leap Studio
