Status Update: Progress and Improvements - CTS: Tram

Dear CTS: Tram Players,

First of all, we sincerely apologize for the silence over the past few weeks. After the Dovetail Direct and the holiday period, some internal matters came up that unfortunately prevented us from responding to your requests more quickly. But from now on, we will be more active in engaging with the community and addressing all support tickets.

We want to assure you: Your messages are reaching us, and we hear you. Internally, we've had many discussions as we are just as dissatisfied with the quality of the v0.3.0 update as you are. This huge update was supposed to address several of your requests, but unfortunately, errors crept in that should not have happened – and we take full responsibility for that.
What are we doing now?
Our first priority is to revise our internal processes. As you may have noticed, we are taking more time than usual for the next update. The reason for this is that we want to make this update as stable as possible. We are focusing heavily on bug fixes and gameplay balancing to finally resolve issues like malfunctioning traffic lights, stations, switches, or AI trams. Additionally, we are improving our QA process and investing more time in testing to identify and fix errors earlier, before the update is released.
What does this mean for you?
There will be delays with the next update. We will keep you regularly updated via our Steam page, social media channels and community Discord and inform you exactly about the progress and current status of the update.
What can you expect in the next update?
We are focusing primarily on bug fixes and stability, so there won’t be any major new features. However, these improvements are coming:
AI Behavior
- Passengers will no longer be stuck in the ground.
- AI trams will follow their correct routes and no longer stop unexpectedly.
- AI trams will no longer pass through player trams.
- Collisions with vehicles and pedestrians will be more realistic and won’t trigger too early.
Signals & Switches
- All switches will function correctly and can be operated either automatically or manually.
- All (switch) signals will work correctly.
- Traffic light phases will be realistically and correctly timed.
- Warnings like "Signal Ignored" will only appear after actually passing the signal.
Stations
- Green stop markers will always be displayed correctly and can be disabled in the settings.
- All stops will appear correctly on the map.
- The "Missed Stop" warning will only show up if the stop was actually missed.
Gameplay
- Tram brake force can now be customized in the settings.
- Speed limits are displayed correctly.

At the same time, we are continuing to work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of CTS: Tram. We’ll be able to share more details on the console version in October and possibly even announce a release date.

We hope you understand that we are working hard on addressing these issues and doing our best to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again in the future. City Transport Simulator is just as important to us as it is to you, and we are committed to delivering a high-quality and enjoyable simulation based on your feedback. Your player experience is our top priority, and we will continue to do everything we can to improve it continuously.

Thank you for your patience and support!

City Transport Simulator: Tram - Early Access Roadmap Update!

Welcome to the CTS: Tram Early Access Roadmap Update for July!

We have exciting news for you! Last week, we released a new update for City Transport Simulator: Tram. Early Access Version 0.1.3 includes several bug fixes based on your feedback from Discord and Steam. We have addressed issues with switches and graphic errors in R2.2b. Additionally, the ULF now operates as an AI tram in the city, and the stop announcements have been updated to "Next Stop" as requested by the community.

Unfortunately, the latest update also introduced a bug. If you start a session with the R2.2b in the evening or at night, the game might crash when the door opens. We are already working on a fix and will release it soon.

However, there’s a major update coming up that not only includes bug fixes but also introduces new features.

Version 0.2.0: New Features and Improvements

We are excited to present all the details about City Transport Simulator: Tram Early Access Version 0.2.0! In addition to several bug fixes, this update will bring new features.
Quickplay Feature in Sandbox Mode
You will finally be able to use the Quickplay feature in Sandbox Mode! This feature will generate a session with just one click, allowing you to start immediately. All lines, vehicles, and start times you’ve created in your Sandbox network will be randomly selected to quickly play any session.
Collectibles: Postcards
In Version 0.2.0, you will also receive the first collectible items: beautifully designed postcards that you can find throughout Tramau. You just need to locate the large postcard dispensers at specific landmarks to unlock a postcard. Each postcard will provide background stories about the landmarks, allowing you to dive deeper into Tramau.
First Map Expansion
Version 0.2.0 will also introduce the first map expansion! Although initially planned for the second phase of Early Access, it’s ready earlier than expected. This update will add three new stations, including one end station. The southwestern part of the Tramau network will be expanded, creating new connections to the stations Amtsstraße, Friedlandstraße, and Igor-Yurkevic-Platz, providing more variety in your network.
Updated Early Access Roadmap
With this new update, we are also excited to show you the updated Early Access Roadmap. Based on your feedback and requests, we have added several new points. In addition to the map expansion coming in the next update, we will also introduce new liveries for all trams, which you can immediately use in Sandbox Mode and unlock progressively in Career Mode. We’ve come up with some really cool and also funny alternative liveries that we think you’ll love.
Joystick Support and Further Updates
In the first phase of our Early Access Roadmap, we have also added support for alternative controls for mouse & keyboard and controllers. Many of you have requested controls similar to TramSim and Train Sim World, which you will be able to select.

This is just the first phase of our control expansions. In the second phase, you will finally be able to use joysticks in City Transport Simulator: Tram. We are currently working on this functionality, which will take some time, so this feature is scheduled for the second phase of our Roadmap. Additionally, we plan to offer fully customizable key bindings. You will be able to assign any key on your keyboard or button on your controller to suit your preferred control setup.
Dovetail Direct Event
We’ve already provided you with information about new updates and the updated Early Access Roadmap. But that’s not all! Our publisher Dovetail recently announced another Dovetail Direct Event on August 20th, and we will, of course, be participating with CTS: Tram. We will share some exciting new information about the development. Tune in to Dovetail on August 20th to find out what’s coming up in the next few months!
Epic Game Store Release
About a month ago, we released City Transport Simulator: Tram on Steam Early Access. We are now excited to announce that CTS: Tram will soon be available on the Epic Game Store in Early Access as well. We are currently finalizing the Epic Game Store version and hope to announce a release date soon. We are also continuing to work on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of City Transport Simulator: Tram. We don’t have new information on the release dates yet but will update you on our social media as soon as we know more. You can already wishlist CTS: Tram on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Epic Game Store to stay updated.
