Patch 0.4.4 | Holiday Update

Hello, Hunters!

The Holidays are just around the corner, and that means it’s time for a festive update!

[h3]What’s New[/h3]

The Holiday Event has begun - collect and trade Christmas Ornaments with the Trader to earn unique cosmetic rewards:
  • Tree car charm (granted upon entering the game)
  • Dog's festive hat
  • Golden knife
  • Winter camo skins for weapons

Additionally, the ornaments count as quest items. Struggling to find a specific quest item? No worries - Zakharich will accept an ornament instead!

Please note, the event runs until January 2nd!
Update: The Holiday Event has been extended until January 9th. Hunters, now you have extra time to collect ornaments and unlock those festive rewards!

The Garage Cooperative location has been significantly revamped to increase gameplay and visual variety:
  • Added two-story garages and areas with shipping containers.
  • Added new garage interiors and new exits.
  • Added a Hunter's stash.
  • Added more objects and vegetation outside the playable area.
  • Added more ground clutter and bushes.
  • Doors on garages with breakable locks are now always painted yellow for easier identification.
  • Vegetation has been updated to the animated one, used in the Forest location.
Other Additions:
  • Bandit corpses now have ragdoll physics - no more bodies falling through the objects!
  • Added helmet impact sounds and headshot sounds for better shooting feedback.
  • New points of interest and additional small details added to the Forest location.
  • Snowfall has been added to all locations, and Zakharich has decorated the base for the holidays.




[h3]Changes[/h3]

  • The bayonet no longer damages animal hides or demon flesh.
  • Improved texture quality on some objects in the Forest.
  • Slightly increased the chance of bandits spawning with helmets at lower player reputation levels.




[h3]Fixes[/h3]

  • Fixed a bug where magazines would disappear from weapons left on the gun wall after returning from a raid.
    All affected players have been compensated with 2 drum magazines for both the Kalash and Saiga. These can be found in your stash upon entering the game.
  • Fixed a bug preventing the achievement for selling 10 artifacts from unlocking.
  • Fixed discrepancies between the dog’s running animation speed and actual movement speed during combat.
  • Fixed several navigation bugs, such as the dog being unable to pass through boarded passages or demons getting stuck in garages with vehicles inside.
  • Fixed number of issues causing locations to generate without exits or overlapping rooms.
  • Fixed a bug where the Trader would repeat the same greetings continuously.

Other minor changes and fixes.

0.4.3.2 Hotfix

- Fixed a black screen bug when changing suits.
- Fixed a bug that prevented the gas mask from being stored in the backpack during a raid.
- Fixed several situations where it was still possible to equip conflicting attachments simultaneously.
- Highlighting for conflicting attachments now also works with the crossbow.
- The crossbow quiver now attaches automatically too.
- Redesigned the bolt-saving system for the crossbow quiver; the issue of bolts disappearing after loading into a raid should now be resolved. Let me know if the problem persists.
- Fixed an issue preventing players from immediately continuing their game after recovering lost progress using new backup system.
- Adjusted the tutorial description for the UV flashlight stage for HTC Vive users.

0.4.3.1 Hotfix

- Fixed a bug preventing some achievements from unlocking. All achievements should now unlock correctly.
- The achievements "Jackpot" and "Sharpshooter" will now be granted automatically if their conditions were previously met.
- Fixed a bug where items couldn’t be picked up after switching backpack tabs in "Press" grab mode.
- Fixed mismatched trader voice lines and their subtitles regarding delivered artifacts.

Patch 0.4.3 | Achievements Added!

Hello hunters!


Update 0.4.3, first of all, focuses on bringing Steam Achievements to the game.

Some of these are simple and unlock naturally as you play, while others will push your skills to the limit. Trophy hunters, this is your time to shine!

In addition to achievements, this update improves the usability of several existing mechanics and, most importantly, fixes the broken AI behavior of bandits, making encounters with them more engaging than ever. But let’s dive into the details!


[h3]New Features[/h3]

Achievements Added: The game now features its first set of 37 Steam achievements, with plans to expand the list significantly in future updates. You can find the full list of achievements here:

Some achievements that can no longer be earned without starting a new game (e.g., reaching the second reputation level or obtaining the crossbow) will automatically unlock when you log in.

  • A new system has been added to restore progress based on unlocked achievements in case your save file was lost. Keep in mind that the game currently does not support cloud saves, which will only be added at the full release due technical issues.
  • If your dog gets stuck and can’t catch up, it will now teleport to your location automatically.
  • Added a new animation for the vise on the workbench.
  • When trying to install a conflicting attachment on a weapon, the visual indicator now turns red.
  • A special plush bear toy has been added as loot - your four-legged friend will love it!
  • A brief backstory has been added at the start of the game.
  • Gas masks can now be stored in your backpack.
  • New ambient sound effects have been added to several locations.
  • The Forest map now features more details and new points of interest.


The next major update will focus on significantly improving Bandits: ragdoll physics for bodies, expanded weaponry (including new guns), and more tactical behavior during combat. However, this update already fixes numerous bugs related to their AI, which, along with other changes, makes fights against them much more engaging. Details below.



[h3]Changes[/h3]
  • Bandits now react much faster, with reaction times depending on the distance to the player. At long range, you still have time to escape their line of sight. At close range, they will engage immediately.
  • Bandit detection range has been significantly increased.
  • Bandits are now more aggressive in combat.
  • The hitbox for bandit heads and helmets has been adjusted to better match their actual size, making headshots more challenging.
  • Renamed the "Stash" at the base to "Storage" to avoid confusion with Hunter stashes on locations.
  • Switching tabs in the backpack and storage now requires pressing the trigger.
  • Attachments now auto-mount when brought close to the appropriate slot.
  • Crossbow bolts now auto-insert into quivers when brought close.
  • Quest items for the Hunter are now handed over automatically when brought to his hand.
  • Adjusted sounds for attaching and removing weapon modifications.
  • The PDA step in the tutorial now only progresses after all tabs have been viewed.
  • Starting a new game now places a free revolver suppressor on the workbench in the shooting range.
  • Some yellow hint notes at the base have been updated for the current gameplay systems.
  • The Trader’s introductory speech has been shortened.
  • Shadows in the Forest map are now more contrasted.
  • Grass density and size in the Forest map have been increased.




[h3]Fixes[/h3]
  • Fixed several issues where bandits would fail to notice players (e.g., at close range), fail to attack, or miss consistently even when firing.
  • Fixed an issue where bandit-thrown dynamite would explode instantly.
  • Fixed a bug where bandits wouldn’t attack the player if there was a significant height difference.
  • Fixed an issue where pumpkins from the Halloween event could still spawn and count toward regular quests.
  • Fixed a bug where upgrading to level 3 storage would still show it as level 2.
  • Fixed multiple issues allowing conflicting attachments to be installed simultaneously on weapons.
  • Fixed an issue where the Trader’s fog message played repeatedly instead of only during the first Forest raid.
  • Fixed a bug where the gas mask could behave strangely when switching suits while holding it in hand.
  • Fixed an issue where water step sounds would overpower all other in-game sounds.
