UPDATE #2 (Live Now + Patch Notes!)

Hey y'all!

Update #2 is finally here, and we've got some major problems patched up with this one! I'm so glad I could address some of the problems affecting some of you, and and that anyone new to the game can enjoy the cleanest version of it so far. Here's the patch notes that come with this update:

[h2]PATCH NOTES:[/h2]
  • An error screen would occur for some players upon completing the game for the first time. This was an issue with persistence data, and luckily this error will no longer occur. (All versions)
  • Achievements should no longer disappear from Steam! (All versions)
  • Some audio has been edited in the TRAINING scenario. (All versions)
  • It was previously possible to infinitely create plant food in the PLANTS scenario, which is no longer possible. (All versions)
  • A set of visuals have been altered in the ETERNITY scenario, as the previous visuals conveyed unclear information to some players and caused some confusion. (All versions)
  • A visual has been slightly altered in the TRAINING scenario. (EN version only)
  • Minor spelling errors have been corrected in the EMMA scenario and SUPER EMMA MODE. (EN version only)
  • The prompt to delete achievements and/or persistence data that appears when selecting 'Clear All' under Achievements (in the Options page when pausing) has been added to all international versions of the game. (Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese versions)
  • The timer in the ETERNITY scenario has been translated from English. (Japanese version only)
  • A line of English dialogue in the MOTHER scenario has been translated. (Japanese version only)
  • Some minor changes to dialogue text speed has been altered in the EMMA scenario to fit the pace of the other versions of the game. (Traditional Chinese version only)
  • One of the input options for the laptop in the living room has been slightly altered. (Traditional Chinese version only)
  • The 'Clear All' text under Achievements in the Options tab has been translated from English. (Simplified Chinese only)


Thanks again to those of you who post playthroughs, stream the game, or chat in the Discussion forums. It's been super fun to watch people come across more and more hidden features and secrets of the game, and has also been an amazing tool to look for errors or ways to improve the game in real time. I hope with this update, you've got the best version of the game so, and as usual never be shy to reach out of post feedback. Enjoy the update!

Upcoming Update: UPDATE #2

[h3]Update #2 is in Progress![/h3]

Hey y'all!

It's been good to see that the changes from UPDATE #1 went through without a hitch, and that you all have appreciated the little changes. Thanks again to those of you who are active and talking about the game, it's been helping!

UPDATE #2 is going to be coming soon! This next update will address some bigger fixes that are affecting a small subset of players, albiet in big ways. Along with some other quality of life tweaks, these are the two major items that will be addressed for the next update:

  • DISAPPEARING ACHIEVEMENTS: Like I said in the last update's notes, we're looking into fixing a problem wherein some players are having some of their achievements disappearing from Steam after certain playthroughs.
  • PLAYTHROUGH ERROR: Some players have begun to encounter an error screen after completing the game for the first time. There was previously only one instance of a player encountering this issue post-launch, but as more instances have occurred, it's now become something that needs looking into. There are a few patterns I've been able to see, but in order to know for sure, please report in the Discussion posts if you come across the error screen seen below.


UPDATE #2 will come as soon as I can know for sure that these two issues have been addressed, and that players will no longer encounter either problem when the update goes live. If all goes well, that will be very soon! Please make sure to report any errors you see, or if you encounter either error listed above (bonus if you can describe how you received it!). I'll keep y'all posted!

UPDATE #1 is LIVE!


[h3]《GESTALT: The Fifth Day》Update #1 Is LIVE![/h3]

Hey y'all!

It's been a week now since GESTALT: The Fifth Day's launch, and I'd like to say thanks again to everyone playing so far! Now that the game is available to everyone, it's time for the set of updates and fixes, which are live right now. If you update GESTALT: The Fifth Day on your Steam client, the changes will be applied, and you'll be set to play from there! Thank you to the content creators and those of you in the game's discussion boards for pointing out any issues you found during play, these comments really helped with creating this update. Below are the patch notes for the changes that have been made to the game for Update #1:

[h2]PATCH NOTES:[/h2]
  • Spelling typos have been corrected throughout the game (English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese versions).
  • The "s" and "a" keys have been properly disabled on all screens of the game in some versions, as previously pressing them during play would cause a game-ending error (Simplified and Traditional Chinese versions).
  • The background used after completing all of Emma's conversations in the EMMA scenario has been corrected. Previously, You would always get sent back to the living room upon completing these conversations, and now you are sent back to whatever room you were already in (All versions).
  • The background used after failing the EMMA scenario in the basement has been corrected. Previously, an outdated version of this background was being used (All versions).
  • The two secret code locations have been swapped for thematic reasons (All versions).
  • One of the two secret codes has been changed. One of the codes in the game used an old code that no longer works in this version of the game, and has now been corrected to the proper code. This also means that Ending V is now obtainable in legitimate playthroughs (All versions).
  • A missing path to achieve Ending III has been fixed and updated. This affects certain playthroughs of The Fourth Day (All versions).
  • The music that plays when the [???] visits you after obtaining a good end to any scenario has been changed. The previous music used was a free-use cover of the Great Fairy theme by MattriOST on YouTube. After feedback from player concerns about copyright warnings during streams and video content, the music that plays is now an original track compiled by KINJA (All versions).
  • Persistent data affecting Ending II has been fixed and updated. This issue previously affected players seeking the "My Name is Wicke" achievement, as the game would not register that you have completed Ending II. With this corrected, players who obtain all endings after this update should now receive the "My Name is Wicke" achievement (All versions).


As a note, my team and I have seen an issue regarding certain player's achievements disappearing from Steam. While working on this update we have not found a reason for why this may be happening, and are in the process of talking with Valve about the issue. We want to resolve this issue as soon as we can, and will be addressing this problem in the game's next update. Until then, we hope the changes made improve your playthrough experience and open up some new secrets for you to find!

Update #1 is Coming this Friday!


[h3]《GESTALT: The Fifth Day》Is getting it's first update on Friday, April 12, 2024![/h3]

Hey y'all!

It's been three days since GESTALT: The Fifth Day launched for Steam! Since then, the game has received some amazingly kind reviews, a good number of playthrough videos on YouTube, and buzz online! Additionally, the game has shown up on the front page for several of Steam's "New and Trending" categories throughout the weekend (and today!). So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for playing GESTALT: The Fifth Day, for talking about it, and sharing it with others! I wish I could say how much it means to me in words alone.

Enough sappy talk: The game's first update is coming this Friday! This update will address very small aspects of the game, just as typing errors in all languages of the game (including English), some minor tweaks, and some fixes to certain aspects of the game. Anyone who plays the game is free to post in the Discussion board for the game, and the publishing team over at 072 Project have been kind enough to pin threads for bugs/errors for players to post any issues in.

Wickeina 'Wicke' Gestalt lives in a haunted house.

It can be difficult to find happiness when toiling away at your full time job. Combine that with a house full of entities and strange phenomenon that all seem to work against her, and it's clear that Wicke is stuck in a difficult circumstance. Inheriting the house from a dead, old woman that she hardly even knew, Wicke has lived in the house for some time now, trying to strike a balance between the hours toiled away by her job, and the strange horrors of the house. She is at her wit's end. She cannot keep living a life without control. During these five days within the house, what may be an ordinary week of lost autonomy and horror may just be her last chance to regain control of her life and overcome the decline of her mental state.

All will be decided on the inevitable fifth day.
