DEMO AVAILABLE NOW!
Yes, the Pompeii: The Legacy demo is already live! You can dive in today and start building your Roman legacy.
But that’s not all, a new and expanded version is coming on June 6, featuring sandbox mode and additional content.
Then, on June 9, the full Next Fest demo launches with even more polish and improvements!
What’s the Game About?
Pompeii: The Legacy is a single-player city builder set in ancient Rome, blending strategic management, generational storytelling, and rich historical atmosphere. It features a narrative campaign filled with quests, characters, political intrigue, and the ever-present shadow of Mount Vesuvius.

Inspired by Caesar III and enriched with systems familiar to fans of Anno 117, this game brings deep mechanics and immersive worldbuilding together, all handcrafted in a custom engine. No Unity, no Unreal. Just passion and code from a solo developer with 20+ years of experience.
What’s in the Trailer?
• Flythrough of Pompeii’s real ruins recreated in-game
 • Scenes of your early farms and wheat fields
 • Campaign moments with key characters like Sulla
 • Strategic management UI systems (Government, Trade, Research…)
 • Dynamic trade across the Mediterranean
 • A bustling, fully built Roman city in action

Thank you all for the amazing support, feedback, bug reports, and kind words. I’m reading everything and improving the game day by day.

I hope you enjoy the demo, and I can’t wait to show you even more during Next Fest!

Roman city builder Pompeii The Legacy now has a full demo, with upgrades coming

Pompeii: The Legacy is easily one of my most anticipated games of 2025. It combines my love for ancient history and city builders into something new, where you take control of the once-doomed Roman town of Pompeii and give it entirely new life. While Cities Skylines 2 and Civilization 7 keep being improved, Pompeii: The Legacy is shaping up to be a true contender to the strategy throne. With a temporary playtest earlier this year, you can finally dive into Pompeii's all-new demo, which developer Siscia Games has plans to keep improving.

The Final Playtest Before Steam Next Fest
The Final Playtest Before Next Fest
The new Pompeii: The Legacy playtest is live, and it marks the last public test before the upcoming press demo version launching on May 29th.

This version includes numerous improvements based on feedback from the first playtest:
 • A completely overhauled Menu UI with visual polish and easier navigation
 • Brand new family & symbol customization for your citizens
 • Enhanced visuals and refined gameplay balance
 • A reworked system for handling grain fields, with vineyards and olive groves coming in the demo
 • A shorter campaign slice, missing a few late quests that will appear in the demo
 • Sandbox mode and trade system are currently locked, but both will be fully available in the demo
 • A new, more intuitive tutorial with UI highlights will also be included in the demo version

I also hope players will enjoy some of the new buildings already added, and those coming in the demo. From the warmth of the Bakery, to the practical calm of the Herbalist Garden, the textile bustle of the Clothing Factory, and the iconic relaxation of the Bathhouse, these additions aim to bring more life and depth to your Pompeii. They're not just functional, they carry personality, and I can't wait to see how you'll build with them.
Coming Soon: Steam Next Fest
Pompeii: The Legacy will officially take part in Steam Next Fest, starting June 9. The upcoming Next Fest demo will offer even more content, features, and polish, and will be available to both players and press. Be sure to wishlist the game and stay tuned as I prepare to showcase a deeper look into ancient city-building, survival, and legacy.

The Roman Way of Food

Dear players,

It's been a while since my last dev blog, I’ve been deep in development, focusing on building the game itself. But with Steam Next Fest approaching, I’ll do my best to share more frequent updates and give you a closer look at the game.

Your task in Pompeii: The Legacy is to guide your people from humble beginnings to a thriving urban center at the foot of Mount Vesuvius. You'll manage citizens, resources, infrastructure, and, of course, food. Because without food, there is no empire.

This dev blog is all about food: how it’s produced, and how it’s distributed to your population.
Foraging and Hunting: The First Steps
In the early stages of the game, before you develop agriculture, your citizens rely on nature to survive. Two key buildings, the Gatherer's Hut and the Hunting Camp, provide essential food sources. Gatherers collect berries, herbs, and mushrooms from the forest, while hunters bring in meat from the wild. This system forms the foundation of your city’s diet in the beginning, but it won’t be enough to sustain a growing population for long.
Agriculture: Fields of Grain
As your city grows, it’s time to turn to more reliable food sources, namely, grain. The grain production system revolves around small farms surrounded by grain fields, which you can shape freely. Fields can be placed around the farm or extended in rows behind it, offering flexibility and encouraging smart layout planning. This isn’t just about producing food, it’s about designing a functional and efficient agricultural landscape.
Bread Fit for Pompeii
Grain is only part of the story. Once harvested, it’s delivered to the bakery, where it’s turned into bread, a staple of Pompeian life. In fact, the bread in Pompeii: The Legacy is modeled after real carbonized loaves found in the ruins of the city. This attention to detail helps bring history to life, connecting your citizens’ daily routines with those of actual Romans.
Feeding the Households: The Market
Once baked, food must be distributed, and that’s where the market comes in. The market handles food delivery to nearby homes, ensuring that your citizens are fed and content. Efficient food distribution is key to maintaining order and happiness in your city, and a well-placed market can make all the difference.
Stay Tuned – Steam Next Fest Is Coming!
This is just one part of the game’s systems, and there’s much more to come. With Steam Next Fest just around the corner, I’ll be sharing more updates, videos, and gameplay details soon.

So make sure to follow the game on Steam, keep an eye on social media, and, if you haven’t yet, add Pompeii: The Legacy to your wishlist.
Your support makes a huge difference, and I can’t wait to show you more.
