THE PLAN
The Plan for the game:
Since the first half of the game is more or less complete, let's refresh on the plan.
The game, at its heart, is a sandbox survival game with an evolving environment. How do we make sure it stays fun? Well, We bend the rules a bit.
There will almost always be some kind of plant and/or animal in the environment at all times. We also artificially shorten the giant phase of the star.
What's next?
A lot.
The second half of the game to be more precise
While right now you can:
-Start
-Build up a base and some tools
-Tame animals (partial)
-Farm (Very Crude at the moment)
-Upgrade gear
-Make guns
-Conduct some "friendly" PVP engagements (because this game is better with multiplayer)
This doesn't last long. After doing it 1000 or so times We can get it done in about 5-10 minutes if we skip some parts. If we go forward and also horizontally (Into farming)
we can do it in about 15-25 minutes.
So the next half needs to be more engaging.
Many survival games have this problem. There is an early game. There is a late game. But there is no nice way to bridge that gap.
What we want to do is bridge that gap and not do it by having the player chop down half a million trees.
Here's the plan:
-World events
The mid-game will have the star shift drastically.
The climax of your world will be the mid-game.
Things like gamma ray bursts may occur.
This will keep the game from being boring.
That's the plan, anyway.
