Over the years, his studies led him down the path of researching the greatest patterns known to humankind, scattered throughout the cosmos. He specialized in the fields of cryptology and cosmology, publishing a thesis titled *The Pattern of the Cosmos: A Mathematical Approach to the Sky.* But that’s when the once-honorable academic began to lose his grip on reality—especially after discovering a rather intriguing tome that held secrets and codes only he could decipher.

Convinced that he was on the verge of solving the greatest puzzle of all time, Professor Danforth’s lectures became increasingly filled with esoteric theories. He claimed to have found a Mountain that could grant powers so immense they could even defy death. Some even heard him say it was as if the Mountain was calling to him…
