Episode 5.0 Post-Release Update + Christmas DLC

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]A few days have passed since the release of episode 5.0, so it’s time for a little recap. Usually, I don’t enjoy the first few days after an update because people write opinions right away. I get lots of messages saying the update was “short” or that people are disappointed. But I also got many messages saying you liked it, which makes me really happy, so it's quite a rollercoaster.[/p][p]I know SoD has both fans and haters, and that’s totally fine—it’s a genre that not everyone will like. I also like to be a bit sarcastic and unprofessional sometimes, so let’s just say we’re even :D[/p][p]If I could complain about something, it’s that people still think the updates are “short” just because we are undedicated or lazy. I’ve been spending an average of 300 hours a month on the project for the last three years, even working on Sundays, because I love what I do. Making renders and the whole game setup takes a lot of time, and it can’t be rushed without losing quality. (Yes, we’re actively looking for new artists, but haven’t found anyone yet.) I repeat this often because I really hope people understand it eventually.[/p][p]Still, I’m happy to see how SoD has grown and how many fans it has. I’ll do my best to keep it that way.[/p][p]As you know, around mid-December—tentatively December 12—we’ll release a new Christmas DLC called A Dream of Christmas. We’re still working on it, but we’re doing everything to finish it before the holidays. You can already add it to your wishlist! In future posts, I’ll slowly reveal little secrets about it and share some renders.[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]For now, I wish you a peaceful Sunday, and talk to you soon![/p][p][/p][p][/p]

7 days until the new 5.0 update!

[p]Hey everyone![/p][p]I don’t really have any big news to share - the update is almost ready. We’re just adding the final sounds and achievements, and still testing the new version to make sure there are no major bugs, so you can fully enjoy the update.[/p][p]If you haven’t read the last post yet, you’ll find all the details there about what to expect.
Here are a few new renders - let the countdown begin![/p][p][/p]

Steps of Debauchery – Dev Log – Episode 5.0 & DLC

[p]Hey everyone!
Today’s post is a bit longer, but I’ve got a lot to share - both about what’s coming in the next few weeks and what we’ve been secretly working on over the past year. I’m not someone who likes keeping things hidden, so I’m really happy I can finally tell you more![/p][p][/p]
Exploring the Big Apple is out now!
[p]Let’s start with some great news - Exploring the Big Apple, a game created by SadPepper and published by us, is now available on Steam!
It’s a bit different from our usual genre, but I personally really enjoyed it, and I think some of you will too. It’s a shorter game, but also cheaper than most others - and it’s currently on sale, so now’s a good time to grab it![/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
Episode 5.0 release dates
[p]Now, moving on to Episode 5.0. As many of you know, the new update will be released in early November. Here are the exact dates:[/p]
 • [p]Devoted+ tiers: November 5 (evening CET)[/p]
 • [p]Inquisitive+ tiers + Steam: November 8 (evening CET)[/p]
What’s coming in Episode 5.0
[p]Here’s a small preview of what you can expect!
You’ll get around 2,200 new renders, lots of new animations with sound, over 20,000 script words, and 9 new scenes - some of them really big, with up to 400 renders each (for comparison, early scenes had about 50–100).[/p][p]This episode focuses a lot on the school setting. You’ll paint with Beatrice in art class, learn some anatomy with Professor Wilson, and get involved in whatever Dean Scott and Madison are planning - something tells me their rivalry might heat up… or maybe not![/p][p]Mr. X will play an important role, and Riley will do a live stream with Elijah in a rather unusual place - can’t imagine what people will think when they see that live. Richard will be happy to have Riley’s help during the Whisky Club meeting, and there are a few other scenes I won’t spoil for now. There’s plenty to look forward to in early November![/p][p]Check out a few new renders below to keep you hyped![/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Big reveal – new DLC!
[p]And finally, something we’ve been keeping secret for a long time - a brand-new DLC!
It will be released in mid-December, and as you might guess, it’s Christmas-themed. But it’s not your usual short “bonus story” - this is a fully-fledged expansion, set in a new festive world with few hours of content.[/p][p]The DLC includes nearly 40,000 script words, around 2,500–3,000 renders, and more animations than you have seen so far. We actually planned this DLC from the very beginning, and now feels like the perfect time to bring it to life. I’m sure you’ll love it![/p][p]Some people might say we should’ve focused on the main story instead, but this DLC gave us a chance to try new ideas, experiment a bit, and give you something fun before Riley’s next “naughty” adventures begin.[/p][p]You’ll find a few NSFW preview renders from the DLC below - the spicier ones will have to wait 😉[/p][p]That’s all for now! I’m heading back to finish Episode 5.0 so it’s ready on time with no delays.[/p][p][/p]

Behind the Scenes: Development, Q&A, and Upcoming Update

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p]
Just a short info post today. I did a Q&A recently, and some questions came up more than once, so I thought it’d be good to answer them here. I also want to say a few words about production, future plans, and give a small update about what’s coming in October/November. If you’re only here for the 5.0 update and pictures, scroll down to the last section. :D[/p][p]First, I’ve seen some strange posts lately accusing me of not keeping promises, not focusing on the project, and even lying about the full release being planned for 2026. Honestly, it feels weird to explain myself, but I think I should.[/p][p]Yes, two years ago after the first release I wrote that small updates would come every month and big ones every two months. Back then, a “small update” meant around 5 short scenes, 300–400 renders, and about 5k words. Now, a small update (like episode 4.2 for example) had over 1,400 renders, almost 20k words, better animations, and higher-quality visuals. So the scope of content has grown a lot.[/p][p]The plan hasn’t changed — we still aim for a full release in 2026. I can’t promise 100% we’ll make that deadline, but we’re not going to cut content just to rush things. Since the start, we’ve had a full vision of the game and we’re building it step by step. We even added some extra scenes for big supporters, which weren’t in the original plan but I feel like they fit nicely into the story.[/p][p]About the DLC coming in two months — it was planned a long time ago, even last year. So yes, it’s possible we won’t finish the full game by the end of 2026, but we’re working every single day to deliver the best content we can. A lot has changed in my personal life too (like my wedding), which caused some delays. Hard to estimate everything 3 years ahead, especially with so little experience I had, but nothing changed to my approach to the project and I still take it seriously.[/p][p]Now, the most common questions:[/p]
 • [p]Recruitment: We tested many people, but it was more trouble than help. In the end, we hired one full-time artist (thanks, Alex!) who’s been a huge help. I hoped to hire 2–3 more, but so far no one matched our style. Recruitment is still open, but passively — I’m not spending more time searching right now, because instead of testing people I could create much more renders myself.[/p]
 • [p]Future projects: We’re not planning a direct sequel to SoD. Maybe a DLC with a separate story, or maybe something new — but for now, SoD is the focus.[/p]
 • [p]How I started: I first worked for other devs (can’t say much because of NDAs), but I learned a lot and then decided to make my own game. Comparing the early renders to now, I can say I’ve learned even more. I try to improve every day, fixing old mistakes and pushing quality forward.[/p]
 • [p]Characters/assets: I can’t share assets or spoil content. About Riley — she isn’t based on anyone, I just created a character I personally liked.[/p]
[p]If you have more questions (or complaints about what I wrote earlier), feel free to leave comments on Patreon or Steam. I don’t reply to everything, but I do read all of them.[/p][p]About the next update: it’s coming in early November. You’ll get 9 large scenes and over 2,000 new renders. In mid-October, I’ll share the full changelog and detailed info about the DLC (coming one month after episode 5.0, in December). It’s been a long wait for episode 5.0, but the DLC will make up for it and prove we’ve been working hard.[/p][p]Finally, here are a few random renders. Feel free to ask more questions, and if you haven’t left a Steam review yet — please do it now![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p][/p]
