Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PC – Patch 8 Release Notes

Hey everyone,

Patch 8 is live for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC!

This patch brings performance improvements in areas with trees, various bug fixes and stability improvements, based on player feedback. We fixed a crash that could occur when quitting the game, fixed visual bugs related to raytracing on AMD graphics cards and resolved visual bugs related to character hair. Read the patch notes below for more details.

  • Improved performance in areas with trees.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when exiting the game during vehicle chases.
  • Resolved a bug where AMD users could see rainbow pixelated artefacts when raytracing was enabled.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause character hair to appear blurry.
  • Addressed flickering on character hair when using Ray Reconstruction.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the Greenwich Mural Photo Op to be invisible when the Level of Detail setting was set to Very High.
  • The transition between the wet and dry parts of Spider-Men suit no longer appears pixelated.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the mouse to become unresponsive after canceling the change character pop-up.
  • Various user interface related bug fixes.
  • Various stability improvements.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PC – Patch 7 Release Notes

Hi everyone,

Patch 7 is available now for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC!

This update contains various bug fixes, optimizations and stability improvements, based on player feedback. We've fixed bugs related to ray-traced interiors, addressed a bug that caused shadows to flicker when HBAO+ or XeGTAO was selected and more. Check out the patch notes below for the full details.

We’re also delighted to share we’ve added Steam Community Items to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC! This new bundle of items includes Badges, Trading Cards, Backgrounds, and Emotes based on the game.

Our card selection includes characters from the game, meanwhile badges are based on the heroes and villains you’ll encounter in your heroic endeavors to save Marvel’s New York - leading into the Black Suit foil!

  • Fixed a bug that caused interior objects to appear pixelated with Ray-Traced Interiors enabled.
  • Addressed a bug that made interior plants shine vibrantly with Ray-Traced Interiors enabled.
  • Resolved a bug that caused shadows to flicker when Ambient Occlusion was set to HBAO+ or XeGTAO.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when minimizing the game application.
  • Resolved a bug that caused active crimes near the Photo Op in the Upper West Side district to sometimes disappear when the player arrived at target location.
  • Addressed a bug that caused Display settings to not save when changing Window Mode from Fullscreen to Exclusive Fullscreen.
  • Exclusive Fullscreen will no longer reset to Fullscreen when using [Alt] + [Tab].
  • MJ’s lure ability is no longer hardcoded to [E], allowing [ESDF] movement. 
  • Resolved a bug that caused the "Parry: Web Blast" skill to not work under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug where the Xbox 360 controller layout would cause the camera input to be displayed in the wrong position.
  • The Field of View setting will no longer affect the UI of mini-games.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has lost its Steam Deck Verified rating

Valve's Steam Deck rating system is generally quite correct, but there are clearly some times when it isn't. Thankfully, Valve do go back over various games to re-test them and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has been hit with a downgraded rating.

Patch 6 is available now for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC!

This patch brings various bug fixes and stability improvements, based on player feedback.

We’ve resolved issues related to frame generation, addressed a high frame-rate related bug, made improvements to NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction and updated Intel XeSS upscaling to version 2.0.1. Check out the patch notes below for all the details.

  • Fixed a bug that could cause distortion of visual effects when using AMD FSR Frame Generation in combination with upscaling.
  • Resolved a bug where ghosting could occur when NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation and upscaling was enabled, causing parts of the player suit to become invisible.
  • Addressed a bug that could cause mission trails to appear as a white tube for some players.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause Harry to appear twice when assisting in combat during the mission ‘Anything Can Be Broken’.
  • Players will no longer get stuck in the New Threads mission when crawling on the pipes with a very high frame rate.
  • Addressed a bug that prevented some players from receiving calls after missions, blocking their progress.
  • The ground will now appear shattered after performing a Ground Strike.
  • Resolved a bug that caused a dotted line to appear on screen during some cinematics when upscaling was used.
  • Addressed a bug where audio would desynchronize if the user changed the application focus while a cutscene was loading.
  • Various improvements to NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction related to ray-traced ambient occlusion and ray-traced shadows.
  • Updated Intel XeSS upscaling to version 2.0.1. This fixes bright visual artefacts that could occur when using XeSS upscaling.
  • Various stability improvements.

Patch 5 is out now for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PC!

This update brings more performance optimizations, stability improvements and bug fixes based on player feedback.

We improved performance in instances with Venom and Symbiotes and made several raytracing-related improvements. Additionally, this patch includes several visual bug fixes and optimizations related to various aspects such as reflections, shadows and textures. Check out the patch notes below for more details.
