Lords of the Fallen faced a bit of a middling reception when it came out in October, 2023. Myself and many others had a lot to criticise about the launch version, and though some major design issues were never truly fixed, developer Hexworks stuck with it far longer than anyone could’ve predicted.

Remember Lords of the Fallen? Not the original 2014 game, the sequel that came out in October last year and was fairly divisive. The game’s developer, Hexworks, never really stopped working on it.
Hexworks and CI Games are working on a sequel to 2023 action-RPG Lords Of The Fallen, itself a sequel to 2014 action-RPG Lords Of The Fallen. It's slated to launch in 2026. Will the new Lords Of The Fallen also be called Lords Of The Fallen? Will it build on the exciting innovations of Lords Of The Fallen, or will it seek to recapture the nostalgic charms of Lords Of The Fallen? Perhaps in ten years time we'll do a list feature, "Lords Of The Fallen Games Ranked", with just one entry. I'm pretty sure that in 10 years time, generative AI plagiarism will have rendered everything interchangeable anyway.
Remember Lords of the Fallen? No, not that one. This one. Last year’s reboot of the 2014 game of exactly the same name - despite the successor originally being a numbered sequel, then at least having a ‘The’ at the start of its title to help tell them apart a little - will now get its own follow-up in a third Lords of the Fallen game. The upcoming sequel doesn’t have a name yet, but I really hope they stick with the bit and just call it “Lords of the Fallen” again.
Last year's Lords of the Fallen reboot is getting a sequel, as its publisher CI Games signs a deal with Epic.
As reported by Polish website Bankier, a recent filing from CI Games has confirmed that Lords of the Fallen will be getting a sequel in 2026. Quite notably, and potentially controversially, the filing was specifically about the fact that CI Games and Epic Games have signed a deal guaranteeing the latter exclusive rights to the Lords of the Fallen sequel on PC. There are a number of PC players who flat out refuse to buy games on the Epic Games Store, so we'll have to wait and see how that pans out for CI Games when the sequel eventually arrives.
It should be noted that the rights to publish and distribute the game "worldwide on all other platforms, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms for which the Game is currently in development, will remain with the Company." This obviously confirms that the game will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S too, which isn't all that surprising given the reboot also released on the same platforms.
