[h2]We're getting really close to the big day — the release of Animal Shelter Simulator 2 is just around the corner, and we couldn't be more excited (and emotional) to share what we've been working on with you.[/h2]

For months, our team has been carefully crafting every little part of this game. If you’ve been with us since the first Animal Shelter, you know one thing for sure: we don’t just make games about animals — we live with them.
Most of our team members are proud pet owners, and our daily lives are filled with wagging tails, loud purring, muddy paws, and lots (and lots) of fur. 🐾
That’s exactly why every detail in Animal Shelter Simulator 2 comes from the heart.


[h3]🐶 Real Animals, Real Inspiration[/h3]

Did you know… many of the posters you’ll see in-game (featuring adorable cats and dogs) are based on our very own pets? Yup — we turned our beloved furry companions into stars. 🌟 The models, posters, and even parts of the interface have roots in real-life stories, animals, and moments from our homes.

💌 This game is filled with tiny personal touches. From custom hand-drawn artwork by our wonderful artist Aleksandra, to sound effects created by Krzysztof, our audio wizard — every bark, meow, rustle or whimper has been carefully designed… and even recorded with the help of our pets!

[h3]Introducing… Shogun and others Pets! 🐶[/h3]

We couldn’t end this devlog without introducing someone very special: Shogun, one of our key voice actors (and also a very good boy 🐕).

Shogun is a vocal star 🎤 — and you’ll hear his wonderful sounds in the game itself. Whether he's barking at the mailman or begging for treats, he's brought so much life (and cuteness) into the shelter world. We can’t wait for you to hear him in action.

[h3]🎨 Here's What It Looks Like:[/h3]

In our recent devlog, we dropped a few little “breadcrumbs” 🐾 hinting at a big new feature… and it’s time to officially reveal it! Animal Shelter 2 will feature a full season and weather system! 🌍 We’re excited to share with you the details so without further ado let’s break down what that means for you and your animals!


[h3]🌙 Day & Night Temperature Changes[/h3]
Temperature isn’t static — it changes throughout the day. At night it gets colder, and if animals are left outside their enclosures overnight, they’re more likely to get sick making it even more important to take good care of all the cuties in your shelter.

[h3]🌡️ Temperature Matters[/h3]
We’re introducing a full temperature mechanic that affects:

-Outdoors — animals left outside in cold weather may get sick! 🤧
-Indoors — temperature per room depends on:

-Outside conditions
-Whether heating or cooling device is turned on
-If doors are left open 🚪

You’ll be able to place heaters and fans to regulate room temperature! 🐕 Each animal has its own optimal temperature range, and keeping them comfortable is part of your job. The temperature impacts the animals in more ways. It impacts their physiological needs as well as the level of their activity and behaviour❗


[h3]🍃 4 Seasons, Real Impact[/h3]
Animal Shelter 2 includes all four seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter — and they’re not just visual! Each season brings its own mechanics, effects, and events that will affect your daily shelter life. 🌦️

[h3]🧥 NPCs Dress for the Weather[/h3]
Both visitors and employees will change clothes based on the season! ☀️❄️ Expect summer wear in the heat and winter coats in the snow. And that’s not all!! You can customize your employees’ uniforms to match your style! 🎨


[h3]☀️ Summer vs Winter Care ❄️[/h3]
Every season comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages and you’ll have to be thoughtful and prepared to embrace everything each season has to offer. Here are a few things to keep in mind: 😉

-In summer, be careful not to let animals overheat
-In winter, prevent them from freezing or catching a cold
-After snowfall, pets can get covered in snow — dry them off when they come inside or else they may get sick!

[h3]🍂 Autumn & Dirt, ❄️ Snow & Fun[/h3]

-During autumn, wet conditions mean animals get dirty faster outside
-In winter, snow can stick to their fur and then melt indoors

You can even throw snowballs at other players for fun! ⛄

[h3]📺 Weather Forecast & Effects[/h3]
Don’t worry! Although there are many things to keep in mind, we're coming with an extremely useful tool at your disposal. Weather forecasts will keep you notified about any temperature or weather change so you’re never caught unprepared!

Weather forecast system shows upcoming weather like rain or snow 🌧️❄️ which can further vary in intensity, including:

-Thunderstorms, lightning, puddles ⚡🌧️
-Heavy snowfall that needs to be shoveled away ❄️🧹

[h3]📉 Power Outages and Seasonal Interventions 🧹[/h3]
Storms can damage the fuse box — if it breaks, you’ll need to repair it or part of the shelter will lose power and lighting! 💡

Another downside of a storm is that you might find fallen branches to clean up 🌳.

New seasonal activities include:

-Raking leaves in autumn 🍁
-Shoveling snow in winter ❄️
-Helping with other clean-up efforts after weather events

[h3]🦆 Changing Wildlife & Fauna[/h3]
The natural world also responds to the seasons and we’ve heard about some changes in the local fauna! 🤩

-Animals like frogs and snails start appearing when the temperature raises 🐌
-In spring, migrating birds fly overhead 🕊️

[h3]🛒 Seasonal Decorations & Items[/h3]
Special season-themed decorations and items will be available in the shop — but only during their respective seasons so make sure to visit the shop from time to time and stock on your favorite decorations to help set the mood in your shelter! 🎃🎄🌸

[h3]🎨 Seasonal Main Menu[/h3]
Here’s a sweet detail: the main menu reflects the last season you played in! It’s a small touch — but we hope it keeps you immersed in the shelter’s world 🌍💛
