We’re thrilled to see you again in yet another devlog! 🤩 This time we’ll briefly introduce you to the topics we’ll discuss further in the future devlogs. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the topics ahead! 👀

[h3]Animal treatments ➕[/h3]

Treatments in Animal Shelter 2 are most definitely more developed processes than in part 1. In the basic game there will be some diagnostic challenges to find out what illness makes your animals feel bad. 🔬 Because of the day&night cycle, this process will be a bit more stretched and detailed. Chronic diseases will also make their appearance in the game!



[h3]Sending animals away from the shelter 🚚[/h3]

If there’s a situation where more advanced equipment is necessary to diagnose your animal, it can be sent to a more specialized laboratory for a more detailed diagnostic procedure. 😷 There are also other situations where you may want to sent your animals to other places but we’ll reveal them in the future devlog! 😉



[h3]Taking care of animals’ needs 🐶 🐱[/h3]

Those of you who already played the Prologue version know very well that the rescued animals will come to your shelter in different mental and physical conditions. 📝 Animal Shelter 2 full version take it few steps further and now based on the data and other conditions the game will inform you how much work will be required so that the animal becomes ready to be adopted. Sometimes you’ll have to meet additional requirements but more about that will be said in a separate devlog. 👍

[h2]We are excited to announce that Animal Shelter 2 will be participating in Animal Week on Steam, from October 3 to October 10, 2024! [/h2]



Animal Week on Steam is a unique, week-long event dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of animal welfare and conservation. The event will feature a diverse selection of animal-themed games, ranging from wildlife sanctuary management simulations to adventurous games with animal protagonists. This initiative promises to provide an educational and entertaining experience for players.

Animal Week is co-created with WWF Poland! This partnership aims to celebrate World Animal Day on October 4th and promote awareness about animal welfare and conservation through engaging animal-themed games.



WWF Poland, a leading conservation organization, is joining Games Incubator in this effort, bringing their extensive expertise in wildlife protection and environmental sustainability. This partnership underscores the shared commitment of both organizations to foster a deeper understanding of animal conservation issues among the gaming community.

We're thrilled to announce that Animal Shelter 2 Prologue is just around the corner with a release date set for September 13th! 🎉

To get you ready for the big day, we’ve put together a list of exciting new features and improvements that set it apart from the original *Animal Shelter*. We can’t wait for you to dive into the game and experience all the amazing changes! 🐾





🌟 All-new graphics
The visuals have been significantly upgraded, especially for the animals, who now look more realistic and adorable than ever before!

🏠 Enhanced shelter customization
While you can no longer move buildings, you now have much more control over customizing your existing shelter. Change walls, ceilings, floors, and even expand some rooms to suit your needs!

👥 Other characters
Meet NPC workers and adopters who visit your shelter. This brings a new layer of interaction and managing people around you.

🤝 CO-OP mode
Yes, you heard that right! Animal Shelter 2 Prologue introduces multiplayer co-op mode, so you can run the shelter with your friends or alone!

🚑 External services
Need a special treatment for an animal? Now you can send them outside the shelter for surgeries or treatments, adding more depth to the care management system.

🗺️ 2D world map
Explore the world outside the shelter! Use the new 2D map to discover events, activities, and interventions waiting for you and your animals.

🚓 Intervention missions
Now you can personally go on rescue missions, entering different locations to help animals in need. These locations are partially procedurally generated, so each visit offers a new experience.

🐶 Puppies and kittens included
No more waiting for DLC! Puppies and kittens are available from the start in Animal Shelter 2 Prologue, ready to melt your heart.

🐕 Your own pet
You can now have a personal pet that follows you around the shelter, keeping you company as you manage your daily tasks.

📝 More advanced mission system
In Animal Shelter 2 Prologue, the missions are more complex and varied.

🧠 Improved animal AI
Animals in the game are now more realistic. They have their own behaviors, needs, and desires. They interact with other animals and might show unwanted behaviors that you'll need to correct, making animal care more demanding.

🩺 More involved animal care
Caring for animals in Animal Shelter 2 Prologue goes beyond just physical needs. You’ll also need to manage mental and behavioral issues before the animals are ready for adoption. Every pet requires a unique approach, adding depth to the gameplay.

🌗 Day and night cycle
The game now features a dynamic day and night system, which not only changes the aesthetics of the shelter but also affects daily tasks.

📱 Tablet replaces the camera
You no longer need a separate camera to take photos. All images and documents are now managed through a tablet, which serves as your "command center" in the shelter, simplifying the management process.

💉 Expanded healing system
The healing system is now more detailed. Some animals will require long-term treatments, while others might need specialized care outside the shelter. You may also encounter animals with chronic health issues that require ongoing management while they stay in your care.

👵 Older animals
The game now includes older animals, which have their own unique traits. They may tire faster, require more care, and can be harder to adopt out. These elderly pets add a new level of challenge to shelter management.

👗 Animals can wear clothes and decorations
You can now dress your animals in clothes and decorations not only during photoshoots but anytime. This adds a personal touch to the shelter, making it even more unique and heartwarming.

🐾 DLC features from the original game are now included in the base game
Features such as walking animals on leashes, using the tablet for management, and animals running freely around the shelter are now part of the base game. You can also place animals anywhere in the shelter, not just in designated spots as in the first game.

🧹 Better shelter cleaning system
The cleaning system has been improved.

🎁 More perks and new features
The game introduces other smaller yet important improvements like the auto-disappearance of empty delivery boxes, new gameplay-impacting perks, and overall adoption system improvements.
