Update from the Depths — The Demo Expands!

Hello, fellow well-dwellers.

Our demo just got... deeper.

From now on, you can get a closer look at certain places. A new camera system allows you to explore selected areas more intimately — give it a try and see what may have slipped your eyes before.

Interactions have been refreshed: new icons, better feedback, and clearer ways to engage with the world inside the well.

Our protagonist now moves with new grace — improved animations and better responsiveness make traversing this reality more organic than ever.

Weapon logic has been completely reworked, adding new tactical depth to how you approach encounters with less-than-friendly inhabitants of the well.

Development of Unwell 1.0 is progressing steadily — we’ve just started producing the eighth level of the well. Only one more to go...

Unwell release date anoucement!

Welcome, friendly Well-dwellers!


[h2]We’ve worked hard for this – and we can finally announce it![/h2]

Thanks to the data from our task system, we can now officially reveal the release date for Unwell! The game will launch on September 29, 2026. We are incredibly excited as we look at the action plan we’ve prepared – and we’re not slowing down.

The full version of the game will consist of nine levels, each inspired by the corresponding level of Dr. Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness, with a story based on Dr. Freud’s theory of personality. We estimate around 13 hours for a single playthrough, with three different endings!

But that’s not all! Along with announcing the release date, we’re dropping a massive update for the demo version. You can now see the direction Unwell is heading by exploring the abyss of the human psyche in about an hour of content covering the first three levels of the Well!

✨ Unwell demo Update – Huge Changes and New Features! ✨



[h2]What’s happening?[/h2]

Hey Patients! 🖤 It’s time for a fresh dose of Unwell updates! We’ve introduced tons of fixes, improvements, and brand-new mechanics to immerse you even more in the game’s world. Here’s what’s coming:

[h2]🔧Fixes and Optimizations[/h2]
  • Lots of performance optimizations – more fixes are on the way!
  • Improved sound design to help you better understand what’s happening around you.
  • Slightly faster weapon wind-up for smoother combat.
  • Protagonist animation overhaul!
  • Improved item pickup logic – you can no longer pick up items through walls.

[h2]⚔️ Combat and Movement Mechanics[/h2]
  • Dodge with iFrames – now dodging grants temporary invincibility!
  • New pushback logic – instead of changing the player’s position, it applies a physical force to prevent clipping through walls.
  • New lighter mechanic – don’t keep it lit for too long, or you’ll regret it…
  • Stamina overhaul – movement and dodging are now more strategic.

[h2]💡 World and Exploration[/h2]
  • Complete lighting overhaul – every level now looks more atmospheric.
  • New storage mechanic – too many items? Store them in a desk and come back for them later!
  • The world is becoming more alive – you’ll encounter more than just enemies.
  • Out of bounds fixes – no more accidental map exits.

[h2]👻 Hostile Well Dwellers[/h2]
  • Overhaul of all hostile well dwellers!
  • A new type of enemy! 👀
  • Interactions are now interrupted if you get attacked by an enemy.
  • Hugging well dweller received new physics and logic improvements.

[h2]🌌 Dream Sequences & Puzzles[/h2]
  • Overhauled dream section – now more polished and mysterious.
  • Reworked animations for the level 2 puzzle.
  • Added a tutorial prompt – use the crowbar on the well and see what happens next.

[h2]🎥 Cinematics & Interactions[/h2]
  • Death cutscenes can now be skipped – regain control faster!
  • Model improvements, especially for pickup items.
  • Enhanced interactions in dream sequences.

We are currently resolving some minor issues with gameplay to make the descent more fun!
Also there will be much more content than predicted, since we managed to speed up the production! Thanks to that we were able to implement more planned things beforehand.

The major update is planned for 02.02.2025!
