2022 Season 3 Patch 1 Release Notes [2022.06.15.02]

This Patch contains some updates and fixes for the 2022 Season 3 Release.

SIMULATION:
--------------------------------------------------------------

AI Racing
Fixed a crashing issue that could occur when using an AI Opponent Roster of GT3 class cars at Fuji International Speedway while using a rolling start.
AI Drivers have improved this racing skills with the following vehicles:
- - BMW M4 GT3
- - Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020
- - Porsche 911 R GT3
- - [Legacy] Ferrari 488 GT3


Graphics
Fixed some issues with SMP and Res Scaling AMD FSR not playing nice together.
Fixed an issue for VR-users with AMD FSR enabled.
Fixed an issue with the virtual mirror for users with AMD FSR enabled and MVP enabled.
Fixed an issue with some windshield rendering while using SSAO.
The compute shaders functionality is now disabled when iRacing detects certain AMD graphics cards in use.


iRacing Interface
Fixed an issue where the virtual mirror could not be repositioned by clicking on the mirror itself.


Replays
The Track Rules tab will no longer be open by default when opening a Replay.


CARS:

NASCAR Classic 1987 Cars
iRacing setups have been updated.


NASCAR Next Gen Cars
Fixed an issue where soft shadows were not reacting properly while the New Damage Model was in use.
Fixed a graphics issue where these cars appeared to be using the low-downforce package at Nashville Superspeedway, when in fact they were not.


Dallara P217
Fixed an issue where the windshield wiper was missing a texture in the interface model.


Dirt Late Model
(Super) - iRacing setups have been updated.


Formula Renault 3.5
iRacing setups have been updated.


Honda Civic Type R
Launch RPM has been increased, and clutch torque has been lowered for better standing starts.
iRacing setups have been updated.


Hyundai Elantra N TC
Launch RPM has been increased, and clutch torque has been lowered for better standing starts.
iRacing setups have been updated.


Hyundai Veloster N TC
Launch RPM has been increased, and clutch torque has been lowered for better standing starts

Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance
iRacing setups have been updated.


Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020
Fixed an issue with the endurance lighting after taking damage.
Fixed an issue with the display of the lumirank panel, based on the series.
Fixed an issue where paint patterns 26 and 27 were not working correctly.


Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992)
iRacing setups have been updated.


Porsche 911 R GT3
iRacing setups have been updated.


TRACKS:

Atlanta Motor Speedway
(Oval) - Fixed an issue where the in-Sim track map had gone missing after the 2022 Season 3 update.


Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55
Fixed an issue where this track was listed as being in both Missouri and Illinois at the same time.


Fuji International Speedway
The track rules tab has been updated for Turn 6.
(Grand Prix) - Slow-down checkpoints for the chicane area, cutting and going wide, have been updated and the time-gain penalties have been made more severe.
A slowdown checkpoint has been added on the last corner to prevent running wide during Qualifying.
Pit Camera 2 is now correctly a static camera.


Port Royal Speedway
Fixed an issue where skid colors were not matching the dirt correctly.
Collision parameters have been added to some jersey barriers and poles.
Patched some terrain seams.


Sandown International Motor Raceway
Fixed an issue with a delay when starting from the pits.
Fixed an issue where the dynamic track data was not being handled correctly.
- - Track dynamics should now be more realistic over time.


Snetterton Circuit
(200 and 300) - The number of pit stalls has been reduced.

This Hotfix contains some fixes for the 2022 Season 3 Release.

AI Racing
Fixed an issue where the Generate Roster option is missing from the AI options screen when a user selects the option that all cars will be used in a single car class.


SIMULATION:

Race Servers
Fixed a critical Race Server crashing issue that could occur during rolling starts if a driver lost their connection to the race server after the green flag was waved, but before they crossed the start/finish line.

Graphics
Fixed an issue with AMD FSR while MVP was enabled.


CARS:

NASCAR Next Gen Cars
Fixed an issue where the Left-Rear ride height could fail tech inspection without any warning to the user.

Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO
Fixed an issue where the windshield went missing during the season update.

Paint patterns have been updated with missing splitter and dive planes.

2022 Season 3 Release

2022 Season 3 Release


iRacing 2022 Season 3 has arrived! We’ve added TWO new Mercedes-AMG race cars, Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020 and Mercedes-AMG GT4, and the Radical SR10 to our stables. Travel to Japan, Australia, and the USA with Fuji International Speedway, Sandown International Motor Raceway, and Port Royal Speedway. Start Zones have been added as an option to all NASCAR Cup oval tracks for a more authentic green flag experience. We have heard our community and have fixed a tire conditioning exploit used during Qualifying. Tire graining and cording visual effects may now be seen on all cars, and our GT3 class has received the latest IMSA visual updates. The New Damage Model is now in effect on FIVE more car models, and AI Racing is available for TWELVE more pieces of content. Oh, and you’ll also find over SIX-HUNDRED (600!) new custom built setups. Jump in head-first to iRacing 2022 Season 3!

iRACING UI (07.00.00):

General
The communication protocol used by the UI has received a version upgrade.


My Account
Resolved an iRacing credits display issue where trailing digits were being shown on the My Account screen.


My Content
Filtering by Favorites on the Cars page now properly displays recently favorited cars without having to refresh the page.


Up Next
This existing End Time column in the table view has been renamed Duration and now supports displaying a duration in laps or total time.
- - The actual expected end time is now displayed in a tooltip.


Create a Race
Tooltip descriptions are now available when selecting a Restart Type.


Team Racing
Tooltips and descriptions of the Fair Share requirements for team racing have been updated for clarity.


AI Racing
Fixed a grammatical error with the alert for the recommended number of AI Drivers.


Results
A new button has been added to the Recent Results page that allows a user to lookup session results via an ID.
- - Only numbers are allowed in this input box to retrieve results. You will otherwise see an alert warning you of your error, and the input requirements. If the session ID does not exist, you will see a notification that the ID was not found.


Paint Shop
Fixed an issue where particular paint pattern rules were not being applied correctly, causing desired changes to not save.

NetCode
Some of the recent extrapolation changes designed specifically to mitigate nose/rear collisions have been updated.
- - These latest adjustments are designed to prevent erroneous rear-ending predictions and should work better for agile cars that are pulling out to pass, or traveling through braking zones and corners.


AI Racing
AI Drivers have improved their racing skills with the NASCAR Cup Series Class Cars.
AI Drivers have improved their defensive driving techniques at Long Beach Street Circuit.
AI Drivers have improved their racing skills at Atlanta Motor Speedway - Oval.
iRacing memory pool consumption for AI Racing has been improved, particularly for large and varied car class fields at large tracks.


Graphics
The name of the renderer file that is currently in use will now be displayed in the Advanced Graphics Options menu for user reference.
Some graphics and display-related settings have been moved from the “app.ini” file to the “renderer ini” files.


Audio
Fixed an issue where some vehicle brakes were not generating brake sounds.


Spotter
Fixed a grammatical text error in some tire compound changes spotter messages.

Drafting drag response has been updated.

Tape has been visually adjusted for Race and Qualifying garage tape settings.

(ALL) - Fixed a severe suspension issue that could occur when certain setup parameters were in use or a significant collision occurred.


Dirt Modified

Dirt Sprint Car
(ALL) - Garage setup ranges have been updated.


Global Mazda MX-5 Cup
The windshield digits have been removed from the interface model.
Fixed an issue where the vehicle pedals were missing from the Paint Shop version of this car model.


Honda Civic Type R
Minimum allowable tire pressures have been increased to match the Touring Car Class requirements.


Indy Pro 2000 PM-18
iRacing setups have been updated.


iRacing Formula iR-04
Fixed an issue where some attention seeking crew members for this vehicle would transition into a T-pose when the camera was not focusing on their car.


Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance
The New Damage Model system for preventing suspension hyper-extension has been disabled for this vehicle since it does not work correctly with this car’s suspension design.


USF 2000
iRacing setups have been updated.

Bristol Motor Speedway
(Dirt) - Updated the pit entry area so driving closely by does not trigger a pit entry.


Charlotte Motor Speedway
(Roval) - Turtle curb properties have been adjusted for improved physics interactions with vehicles using the New Damage Model.
(Roval) - Unburied some cones.


Nürburgring Combined
Fixed an issue where the Standing Start grid location was accidentally moved on to the back straight.


Phoenix Raceway
The pit lane opening has been adjusted to prevent an exploit.


Watkins Glen International
A new flagger platform has been added.
The grandstands have been updated.
Fixed some camera distance visual popping issues with a few environment objects.
Fixed an issue where a chain link fence was opaque.

Create a Race
The “Race Options” step has been moved to after both the car and track selection steps to allow for a better user experience for defining event rules, such as forcing tire compound changes.

Paint Shop
ButtKicker logo has been updated.


SIMULATION:

Race Control
Update the "must use multiple tire compounds" rule enforcement to only disqualify drivers that have both taken the checkered flag and not met the rule requirement. Drivers who do not finish the Race for any reason and have not met the rule requirement will not be disqualified by this rule.
- - This behavior better matches rules in real world series that use multiple tire compounds.
Fixed a race server crash issue that could occur when an event Admin tried to extend a Caution after it was already double file by enough laps that it would try to go back to single file. Instead, now the Caution will simply stay double file.

AI Racing
AI Drivers have improved their pit strategy with the Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance.
AI Drivers have improved their driving skills with the GT3 Class cars.
Fixed an issue where CPU demand of AI Drivers running with Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance was inordinately high.

Physics
A system has been added to prevent suspension hyper-extensions.
- - This system applies to both Old Damage Model and New Damage Model cars.

Tires
Race Servers will now correctly track tire compound usage when sessions are reset.

New Damage Model
Fixed an issue where a detached wheel could cause some damage system instability.

Spotter
Fixed an issue where the spotter was providing gridding fuel messages during non-Race events.

NASCAR Classic 1987 Cars
External shift lights have been updated.

NASCAR Next Gen Cars
Cooling and aerodynamic parameters have been updated while running at Dirt Oval tracks.
Models and textures have been optimized as the camera changes distances from these cars. This should allow for some improved framerates.
Various minor artistic updates for the wheel textures, flaps, and suspension.

ARCA Menards Chevrolet Impala
Fixed an issue with floating tape.

Aston Martin Vantage GT4
Fixed a minor issue with the rotation point of the trunk, when popped open.

Audi R8 LMS
Stint fuel used now references the updated fuel cell capacity.

Chevrolet Corvette C6.R GT1
Fixed an issue with the rear view camera where the display would be too dark and not work well with auto-exposure.

Dallara P217
Reverted a previous change where the clutch would no longer disengage the engine while driving at high speeds.
- - This fuel saving technique may now be used once again, at your own risk.

Honda Civic Type R
The rear wing stamp has been moved to the car decal texture so that it may be altered in custom paints.

Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO
Stint fuel used now references the updated fuel cell capacity.

McLaren 570s GT4
Fixed an issue where car numbers were not appearing correctly on one of the car paint patterns.

NASCAR Buick LeSabre - 1987
The rear fenders have been flared out a bit to more accurately replicate how the body panels would have been in 1987.

Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992)
iRacing setups have been updated.

Porsche 911 R GT3
Fuel used in the current stint has been corrected to be in our typical form and reference the correct fuel cell capacity.

[Legacy] NASCAR Nationwide Chevrolet Impala - 2012
Fixed an issue where some incorrect textures were being used.

New Track configuration: Dirt!
- - A new dirt oval track configuration, Dirt, is now available at this track!
- - - - This new Dirt track configuration has been generated with brand new real-world laser scan data from the upcoming event! The entire track surface has been fully rebuilt and reprofiled for a brand new dirt oval experience.
- - This track configuration is available to all users who currently own this track. This configuration is named “Dirt”.
- - The original dirt track configuration, “Dirt”, has been renamed “Dirt - 2021” to reflect its build date, and remains ready for racing.
