2020 Season 4 Patch 2 Release Notes [2020.09.29.01]


This Patch contains some updates and fixes for the 2020 Season 4 Release.


CLASSIC MEMBERSITE:

- The query for the last ten races on a user's profile has been updated to pull aggregate Championship Points for Heat Races.

- A direct link has been added to take a user between their My Cars and My Tracks pages.

- The Help & Support button on the Membersite homepage now links to the Documents and Tools page.
- - A variety of the resources here are excellent self-help resources.

- A large button has been added at the top of the Documents and Tools page that takes a user to the iRacing Support Homepage.
- - Navigate here for even more self-help tools, FAQs, and to directly contact Customer Support.



SIMULATION:

Purchase Discount

- We have updated our method for calculating the application of the 20% Off - 40+ Pieces Club for our Members.
- - As of last week, this discount is automatically applied to your Cart if your account owns 40 or more full price pieces of content. This includes cars and tracks that you may have purchased at full price, only to later have them become part of the iRacing default content.


Rendering

- Fixed an issue with flickering particle effects, such as smoke and dirt, in car mirrors.


Visual Effects

- Tire smoke has been updated.

- Fixed an issue where dust puffs were spinning rapidly.


Cameras

- For the Camera Tool, the camera select macro now switches to your own car using the command /-4/ typed out on the number pad.


Replays

- Fixed a crashing issue that could occur when moving the play-head around rapidly in the Replay.


Peripherals

- Support for the XBox One Elite controller series 2 in wireless mode has been added.



CARS:

Dallara IR18

- New iRacing Setups have been added for Phoenix Raceway.


Ford Fiesta RS WRC

- Yokohama branding has been added to tire sidewalls.


McLaren MP4-30

- iRacing Season setups have been updated.

- Significantly increased wear rate for all tire compound types.


NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

- iRacing Season setups have been updated.


NASCAR Cup Series Ford Mustang

- iRacing Season setups have been updated.


NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Camry

- iRacing Season setups have been updated.


Subaru WRX STI

- Yokohama branding has been added to tire sidewalls.


Super Late Model

- An updated tire archetype has been applied to this vehicle!

- Vehicle physics have been updated.

- iRacing Season setups have been updated.


USF 2000

- Fixed an issue where customized wheel rim color was not displaying correctly.

- Fixed an issue where rotor glow was not appearing correctly.


VW Beetle

- Yokohama branding has been added to tire sidewalls.



TRACKS:

Charlotte Motor Speedway

- Pit out light position has been adjusted.


Lånkebanen (Hell RX)

- Norwegian PA announcements have been added to this track.


Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway

- Fixed an issue where the front stretch of pit wall would be invisible on Low Detail settings.


Nürburgring

- Fixed an issue where some fans would be visible while the grandstand in which they were seated was invisible on some Detail settings.

This Hotfix contains some fixes for the 2020 Season 4 Patch 1 Release.


iRACING UI: (04.18.13)

Track Maps

- A new batch of updated track maps have been implemented, including:
- - Autodromo Nazionale Monza
- - Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
- - Daytona International Speedway
- - Indianapolis Motor Speedway
- - Road Atlanta
- - Sebring International Raceway
- - Talladega Superspeedway
- - Watkins Glen International
- - [Legacy] Daytona International Speedway - 2008


Licenses

- Resolved an issue where the iRating of Rookie Licenses was being incorrectly displayed to the user.
- - iRating is now correctly hidden for the Rookie License class.


Series

- Resolved an issue where the “Register” button was displaying a “Purchase” state instead of an “Ineligible” state where the user is ineligible to participate in the session.


Results

- A button has been added to view Results from the iRacing UI on the Classic Membersite.
- - The iRacing UI is missing a few statistics that can be found on the Classic Membersite for each event, such as lap charts, lap graphs, and, if applicable, Series Standings.


Teams

- A navigation link has been added to the sidebar for the “My Teams” page.

- Resolved an issue where Team owner names were not being properly displayed if they were too long to display within the table.


Leagues

- The League Sessions page is now the default display when navigating to the Leagues page via the sidebar.



SIMULATION:

AI Racing

- AI Drivers have received some additional Oval driving training with the following vehicles:
- - Indy Pro 2000 PM-18
- - USF 2000



CARS:

Dallara IR18

- iRacing provided setups have been updated for [Legacy] Phoenix Raceway - 2008.


Dallara P217

- The Throttle Shape setting may now be bound to a custom hotkey.

- "dcThrottleShape" is now available in telemetry.


Ford GT GT2/GT3

- (ALL) - Rear damper lengths have been increased by 20mm to prevent running out of droop travel when running high static rear ride heights.
- - This should reduce the tendency of the car to bounce / pogo.
- - iRacing setups have been updated to account for these changes.


McLaren MP4-30

- The telemetry system now reports the tire compound index with which each team has set their best time in Qual ("CarIdxQualTireCompound"; it will be -1 if none has been locked in so far).
- - It also indicates whether or not Race Control has officially locked that team in to that compound choice for the start of the race ("CarIdxQualTireCompoundLocked").

- Track agnostic iRacing setups have been updated to pass tech at all fuel levels.

- Fixed an issue where the tire compound used during Qualifying was not correctly carried into the Race when the driver switched Race Servers during the session transition.


NASCAR Cup Series Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

- Fixed an issue where the gas-man could be interrupted, and fail to empty his fuel can.


NASCAR Cup Series Ford Mustang

- Fixed an issue where the gas-man could be interrupted, and fail to empty his fuel can.


NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Camry

- Fixed an issue where the gas-man could be interrupted, and fail to empty his fuel can.

This Patch contains some fixes and updates for the 2020 Season 4 Release.



iRACING UI:

Paint Shop

- A download link for the Helmet pattern has been added.

- A download link for the Suit pattern has been added.

- Resolved an issue where Team Paints were being temporarily applied to the same car for the Member’s personal paint scheme.


Leagues

- Resolved an issue where registering for a Team Session from the League Sessions page was not allowing the user to select a team and register.


AI Racing

- For AI News, resolved an issue where certain race scenarios could potentially cause an error in rendering.


Broadcasting

- Resolved an issue where a user that has special roles, such as a Broadcaster or Race Official, was getting registered incorrectly as Spectators for a League session.



SIMULATION:

Race Servers

- Fixed an issue where the Race Server could crash if it should somehow get into a situation where it is being asked to allow someone into the Session when they have not been assigned a pit stall.
- - There was an issue where in a Heat Racing Event, drivers that had not connected to the Session during the Open Practice prior to the Qualify Session were not being put into the Qualify Session's "Starting Grid". This led to them not being assigned a pit stall, which then crashed the Race Server when they tried to get in their car.


AI Racing

- Fixed an issue that would cause the Simulation to crash when loading the SCCA Spec Racer Ford at an Oval track.

- Fixed an issue which could cause erratic AI driving on pace laps, sometimes resulting in spin-outs or off-track excursions.


Visual Effects

- Smoke color algorithm has been adjusted.

- Fixed an issue where some backfire effects were firing in the sky instead of from exhaust pipes.


Environmental Audio

- PA announcements from Connery Maddick have been added to the following tracks:
- - Brands Hatch Circuit
- - Circuit of the Americas
- - Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya
- - Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
- - Circuit Park Zandvoort
- - Circuit Zolder
- - Donington Park Racing Circuit
- - Road America
- - Sebring International Raceway
- - Sonoma Raceway
- - Suzuka International Racing Course

- Australian-specific soundscape has been updated.

- Crowd sounds are now disabled when Crowd Detail setting is on LOW.
- - This is a temporary fix for anyone experiencing frame-rate issues with the new environmental audio. A permanent solution remains in the works.


Replay

- Fixed an issue where the Simulation could crash if a user attempted to rewind after the event was complete.


Telemetry

- The disk telemetry writer now flushes the disk telemetry immediately to disk in Test Drive and Practice Sessions, and it now reverts to the old method of opening .ibt files in exclusive access mode while writing to disk.



CARS:

Dallara IR18

- Auto Club Speedway setups have been updated.


Dallara P217

- Rear packer thickness has been reduced.

- Fixed an issue with the ID light color on top of the car not displaying correctly on opponent vehicles.

- Fixed an issue with the dive plane not displaying correctly on opponent vehicles.


Global Mazda MX-5 Cup

- For the New Damage Model, reduced the impact threshold for sustaining engine damage, and increased the impact threshold for breaking the side-view mirrors.


McLaren MP4-30

- A variety of changes, including:
- - Tire wear rate has been increased for all tire compounds.
- - Braking authority has been increased - a driver should now be able to lock the wheels at any speed without taking away the feel at brake release.
- - Rear suspension has been modified.
- - Rear torsion bar rates have been adjusted.
- - Maximum allowable rear ride height has been tightened to reduce the car's tendency to bounce.
- - Baseline setups have been updated.
- - - The track-specific setups are Race setups, and are designed to be run starting with full fuel.

- Fixed an issue with wheel rims turning white at certain level-of-detail distances.



TRACKS:

Darlington Raceway

- Some floating fans have been ejected from the track for not possessing proper tickets for viewing.


Kentucky Speedway

- Fixed the "BMX FILE MISSING" message Members reported at this track.


Road Atlanta

- (Full Course) - The pace car now participates in short parade laps.


Texas Motor Speedway

- Fixed the "BMX FILE MISSING" message Members reported at this track.

- Fixed a gap in the backstretch Safer barriers.


Weedsport Speedway

- Adjusted the inside barriers in Turn 2 to remove a section where the wall was sticking out.

- Adjusted some mip-map settings.

iRACING UI:

Up Next and Series

- Fixed an issue with the time display and Series Name on the Current Series and Up Next pages.


Paint Shop

- Fixed an issue where a driver could lose their face.

- Fixed an issue where a users car paint was getting overwritten when painting the same car for an AI Roster member.

- The "Apply to All X" buttons have been removed from Swatches in the AI Roster Car Paint Shop.

- Fixed a back-end issue caused by having an undefined car number color.


Replays

- Fixed an issue where the UI title was getting updated after landing on the Replay page.



SIMULATION:

AI Racing

- AI Drivers have received additional training with the following vehicles:
- - Dallara F3


Race Control

- Fixed an issue which caused users to be seemingly randomly disqualified in Official Sessions immediately upon entering with the listed reason as: "Admin Penalty".


Rendering

- Fixed an issue with fog and haze computations for objects at far distances from the camera.



CARS:

BMW M4 GT4

- Fixed an issue where this vehicle was not properly utilizing level-of-detail models for external camera views. This should improve rendering performance when viewing this vehicle.


Chevrolet Corvette C8.R GTE

- Fixed an issue with the Corvette C8 logo on the steering wheel.


Dallara P217

- Steering lock range has been expanded.



TRACKS:

Crandon International Raceway

- Some tree overlap has been adjusted.


Phillip Island Circuit

- Environmental Sounds have been updated.
- - Australian-specific ambient sounds have been added.
- - A missing PA speaker has been added.
- - Proper pit sound effects have been placed.


Weedsport Speedway

- Unburied some picnic tables at the pavilion.
