🛠️ Patch 1.3.0 - Patch Notes

🗒️Patch 1.3.0 is here!


[h2]🧑‍🔧 Changes[/h2]
Hi everyone, hope you are all having a good day! Here are the details for the latest 1.3.0 patch:

[h3]🥽 General[/h3]
• We have added a new screen to the mech stats panel! You can now see a list of all the upgrades you have acquired throughout your Run!
We have improved stability across the board (We realize this is vague but it’s just code refactoring and guard clauses: most actual fixes were contained in the previous Hotfix patch.)
• Purchasing an item while having an empty equipment slot equipped now automatically equips that item.
• We have added lights to the mech’s headlights in the Hangar!
Bugparts now no longer get collected if your tank is full, giving your partner a chance to pick more up!
• Made it possible to shoot through fences in maps that have fences.

[h3]🔼 Upgrades[/h3]
Life Drain and Vampiric Damage have been fixed, we've tuned their numbers as well:
┗ Life Drain has a 50% chance to convert 3% of damage done to mech health. (aka: for each 1000 damage you deal you should heal 15 hp.)
┗ Vampiric damage has 100% chance to convert 10% of damage done to Mech health. (aka: for each 1000 damage you deal, you deal 900 damage and heal 100 health.) But enemies also do double damage to you. (NOTE: This is meant to give a “safe” and “unsafe” option, one that supports a little bit constantly, and one with high risk-reward.)
The Grenade Launcher has been buffed from 160 to 210 (Note: We received feedback that the Grenade Launcher was quite underpowered compared to the Flak, especially after a few good upgrades. This should make the damage more reliable; from two grenades barely killing a 300hp Grunt to two grenades for sure killing a 300hp Grunt and heavily damaging the ones around it):
• Grenade direct hit damage has been uptuned from 60 to 80.
• Grenade AOE damage has been uptuned from 100 to 130.

[h3]🔊 Sounds[/h3]
We have added many more sounds in the hangar and in-game, so keep an ear out!

• Queen makes sounds when changing phases.
• Hangar buttons now make sounds consistently.
• Equipping weapons, cosmetics, and upgrades now make some noise!
• The mechs in the victory scene now make some noise!
• You will get a unique noise after picking an upgrade in-game, depending on their rarity.
• The Slicer and Droughtwave upgrades now have SFX!
• You now get a sound when invited to join a game and receive a friend request!
• We added a sound to our error pop-up, but hopefully you won’t hear that one a lot.

[h3]🛠️ Major Fixes[/h3]
• We have pre-emptively fixed an issue with the “Buy All Cosmetics” Achievement & Trophy. This should now work even if we remove and add items from the Cosmetics menu.
• We have fixed issues with the “Explode on Impact” and “Boobytrap” Grenade Launcher upgrades: these should now be much easier to use.
We have resolved issues with the “Life Drain” and “Vampiric Damage” permanent upgrades!

[h3]🛠️ Minor Fixes
[/h3]• We have fixed issues with our enemy navigation, which was causing enemies to get stuck in place.
• We fixed an issue when equipping the “Empty” item: this should now be much easier to use.
• We have implemented various smaller UI fixes:
• The microphone icons have gotten an update.
Fixed the Spewer boss missing SFX for their laser attack. • Fixed wall visuals in The Abyss.
• Fixed an issue with the slicer upgrades no showing particles correctly.
• Drastically reduced the the “Immune” text spam when hitting bosses with weapons like Laser and Flamethrower.
• Fixed some surplus text in subtitles.
• Downtuned the particles related to Lifesteal upgrades (they should now accurately convey the amount gained)
• We have fixed some floor colliders having the wrong mask causing loot to fall through floors (Tangled Nest).
• Removed a surplus spawn point in The Yard which causing players to spawn outside of the map.

Hey everyone, we hope you are having a good Tuesday! Our team is sending out the new hotfix right now so be sure to update your game before you play!

We want to give another HUGE thank you to everyone who has taken the time to report their bugs in the The Official Big Shots Server⁠ feedback channel on our Discord. You guys are AWESOME! 💪 Thanks to you we were able to isolate bugs faster. the following have been fixed:

[h3]🐜Bug Fixes[/h3]
• The achievement “Visit all maps” has been fixed. This should now unlock correctly.
• Some more fixes with waves not starting/ending have been resolved. (As a backup we’ve also implemented a failsafe to catch issues and make losing runs like this much less likely.)
• Fixed Instances of the mudmunchers getting stuck in specific situations. (This also fixes other enemies)
• The issues with upgrades getting randomly removed are also resolved!

🛠️ Patch Notes - Hot Fix #2

Hello Rookies!


Our team has been hard at work to fix all of the bugs that you all brought to our attention in the feedback channel on Discord. We've been hard at work and we fixed the following issues:

[h2]🐞Enemies[/h2]

The Mudmuncher (the digging enemies)
Attack hitboxes have been reduced in size, allowing you to dodge much easier.
• Mudmunchers will now also exit the ground much more often, giving more opportunities to hit them.

General
• The Enemy Waves that spawn during Bosses have been spread out much more, giving breaks between waves and giving you the opportunity to do some heavy damage!
The Queen’s Stalagmite attack is now the same size as the Mudmuncher Boss’ Stalagmite attack, making it easier to dodge.
• The Spewer now needs to have an uninterrupted line of sight to a target before attempting to fire a salvo. (This is additionally to also having to succeed in an “Arch” check to see if the projectile would reach).
Improved Grunt attacks: They will no longer get stuck outside of attack range when they are close by and can’t attack.

[h2]⛽Locomotion[/h2]

The Jetpack now uses less fuel, making it easier to remain afloat and reach some of the higher platforms. (Note: We realized not a lot of players were using the jetpack, so with this tweak, we hope to make the overall jetpack experience more forgiving and rewarding).

[h2]🎯Quality-of-Life[/h2]

• We have added a Recalibrate Button! You are now able to use the in-game menu to recenter yourself in the Mech and the Hangar! (Note: This is only available on the Steam version).
• You can find it immediately in the Mech Menu when in a run, or under “Settings → Gameplay Settings → Recalibrate” in the Hangar.

We have added a Seated Disclaimer to the start of the game. (Note: we saw a lot of content creators standing up in their footage. Everyone is allowed to play standing, but hopefully, this will make it more clear that BIG SHOTS is designed as a seated experience).

[h2]🛠️Major Fixes[/h2]

Game Stability Improvements! We have made dozens of changes that should result in a more stable experience and fewer issues overall, as well as transitioning between levels.
Losing Upgrades: We have found and solved many issues that may cause players to lose upgrades during a run. That sucks! While we are confident that we have resolved the majority of causes, some edge cases may remain, so make sure to get in touch if this occurs again!
Endless Loading Screens: Fixed various instances of internal errors causing the loading screen to never disable
Fixed an issue with the Fire Rate + Upgrades: some combinations caused fire rate to reset, causing you not to have the full benefit of all upgrades. This should no longer be the case.
• Fixed an issue where Highroll would reset your damage to a lower default value after the effect expired. This should no longer be the case.
• Fixed an issue where “Healing” permanent upgrades (Vampiric and Lifesteal) in certain scenarios would result in the player losing health instead of gaining health. This should no longer be the case.

[h2]🛠️Minor Fixes[/h2]

Fixed spawn points in some levels that caused Bosses to appear inside of walls.
• The Jetpack handle texture was improved!
• Corrected fireworks sounds in the victory celebration level.
• Increased font size of the “Searching for Room” screen.
• Fixed the Queen’s corpse not despawning in the victory celebration level.
• Fixed a Vine being untextured in “The Portal” level.

[h2]📌Known Issues[/h2]

We're aware that waves sometimes don't spawn enemies, we're actively focusing on this issue. More information on this is coming soon!

Hot Fix Incoming!

Hello Rookies!

Thank you all so much for all of the feedback in our ⁠feedback channel on our Discord, we've been working hard on fixing the following issues:


  • Pressing Return to Hangar after a two-player session, keeps the same session in the hangar.
  • There are now settings to switch regions!
  • Custom waves no longer double every time you select "Play Again" at the end of a run.
  • Timed cosmetics are now unlocked for users that play in the next two weeks.
  • Fixed collision mismatch in Shift 2.
  • Achievement progression now works on Steam!
  • Discord presence fixed.



The update will begin to roll out soon!
