As some of you might be aware, there was an issue where unauthorized access to multiplayer sessions allowed for store names to be changed. Initially, we thought this was just a prank or a joke, as we've encountered similar situations in the past with Supermarket Simulator.
Unfortunately, due to our inexperience, we misled our community management team and Discord moderators which caused them to mishandle the situation. We misjudged the nature of the event and, in turn, miscommunicated with all of you.
Upon learning the truth, we immediately worked with Photon, the multiplayer service providers we use, to identify the underlying issue, which turned out to be a vulnerability in the multiplayer infrastructure we were using.
We have now implemented a hotfix to address this vulnerability and ensure that such incidents do not occur again.
We understand that some of you might feel concerned about your security, and we want to assure you that no personal data is collected or processed in our game. There is no significant risk to your privacy, and you can continue enjoying the game without worry.
We truly apologize for this inconvenience. We’re doing everything we can to improve and ensure the best experience for our players.
