After downloading the build, you'll see 0.6.10 in the upper right corner while playing the Demo.

Let's check if you updated the demo to the latest version. Open the Hollywood Animal Steam demo page and check for any updates in the queue.
You can also go to the Properties and check the date you updated the demo last time.
P.S. To avoid missing an update, change the 'Setting: Properties' in 'Automatic Updates' to 'Always keep this game updated.'
