We just wanted to take a moment to share a quick update now that the Outbound demo has been out for two days, and wow,
we are absolutely blown away![h2]The Reception Has Been Amazing![/h2]
First off, thank you. We’ve already received so many
warm and positive messages from players who’ve taken the time to try the demo. It’s been incredibly motivating to read your thoughts and see how much joy you're finding in building your homes on wheels, exploring the world, and crafting!
And to some of you - we loved seeing you
break the game. Shout out to everyone who managed to climb to the PEAK of the mountains 😹
At the moment the demo’s overall rating on Steam is sitting at about 81% positive over 350 reviews! This response genuinely makes us so grateful, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! But beyond sheer numbers, what matters most to us is how you feel when you play, and those kinds of messages have truly made our day.

We’ve also received a lot of thoughtful, constructive feedback, and we’re listening. This early stage is a hugely important moment for us to refine how Outbound feels and reads to new players. One of the first changes we’ve made based on your input is
updating the Steam store text to better reflect the heart of what Outbound is:[h2]➡️ It’s a cozy game first and foremost,[/h2]
meant to be a gentle, calm, and stress-free experience. There’s no rush, no threats, and no survival pressure, just freedom, exploration, and slow-paced creativity. Of course, although we’re fans of more demanding survival games ourselves, Outbound is for all the players out there that enjoy no-pressure experience. We want that message to come through the moment someone first opens the store page. Because of this, you may notice changes incoming in the game’s description!

We’ve had a chance to see
Raptor trying something really cool in his stream on Tuesday: to cover a campfire with the side door while it's raining! We decided that that should indeed work! And so, here is a few patch notes we’ve implemented to the demo:
- You can now cover a campfire with the horizontal doors of your vehicle OR with your base building floors and roofs!
- We’ve fixed updating material counts on tasks if another player puts materials into the vehicle.
- We’ve improved the building UI!
