January Update - Out Now!

Hey Everyone!

We’re seeing out the first month of the year with a new update for DUCKSIDE, which includes the implementation of the first iteration of one of our roadmap goals; weapon durability, alongside a bunch of balancing tweaks, QOL improvements and general optimization.

Check out the full update notes below!

What’s New:
Durability feature for melee weapons
The “Durability” feature is introduced for melee weapons. We will continue to extend this feature and fine-tune the ‘durability’ levels, while also adding a repair option in the near future.
Explosive Charge Placements:
Players can now throw small and large explosive charges onto walls from a distance, similar to the satchel charge mechanic in other games. This replaces the previous method of directly placing C4 on walls, adding a new layer of strategy and skill to breaching tactics.
Added a second exit to the submarine
Previously, the submarine had only one exit, making it easy to camp. A second exit has been introduced to improve balance and reduce camping.
Improved NPC AI
NPCs now attempt to take cover behind walls, crates, and other objects instead of standing still or running unpredictably.
Scope Sensitivity Options
A new sensitivity setting has been added specifically for scoped weapons. Players can now fine-tune their mouse sensitivity separately for collimator sights and 4x scopes, allowing for more precise aiming customization.
In-Game Steam Ban Feature
Administrators and Moderators can now issue Steam game bans directly from the in-game admin panel.
Enhanced Player Marker System
• The team marker system has been overhauled to reduce confusion:
 • Players can now place one group-visible marker using Ctrl + Left Mouse Button
 • Each player can set up to 5 personal markers
 • Team leaders have the ability to remove group markers placed by other team members
General improvements:
Implemented some visual fixes and general optimization

The Christmas Update is available now!

The festive season is upon us! So for their first Christmas on the DUCKSIDE archipelago, the Ducks are celebrating it in style with a Christmas Update!

Quacked with new features, holiday-themed items, a brand new monument and more. Let’s unwrap the highlights! Read through the end for the full patch notes!
New Monument:
Somehow, someone got a submarine stranded in the middle of the desert. Gross incompetence of whoever was captaining that submarine aside, it holds some valuable loot for anyone brave enough to venture to its heart and extract it…
New Events:
Get ready for some merry mayhem!

1️⃣ Christmas Carol Ghost Event:

Who ya gonna call? Not Scrooge, that’s for sure. The Ghostly Ducks of Christmas yet to come are haunting bases across the archipelago.

Drops new gatherable resource
Snow Piece: Used for crafting Xmas themed items!

2️⃣ Santa’s Sled Shooting Event:

Santa (or a feathered non-union equivalent) is visiting to spread joy and cultivate carnage.
While shooting "Santa's” sleigh would usually get you put pretty high up on the naughty list, it is the most efficient way of getting your hands on his loot…

The bravest ducks may also find even rarer loot in the sleigh itself…
New Cosmetics & Decorations
Santa Hat: I mean, what other kind of hat do you expect at Christmas…?
Deer Antlers: Become an honorary member of Santa's reindeer alongside Rudolph, Donner, Dancer and whatever the other ones are called!

Snowman Keep a cool head in even the toughest situations!
Krampus Hat: For all the ducks out there that still enjoy christmas but wanna maintain their edgy and mysterious persona.
Door Skin: Nothing says “It’s Christmas” like a wreath on the door of a base that you’re about to turn to rubble.
Fireplace Warm those webbed feet by the fire as you await the arrival of santa (or a raider) with a Christmas Fireplace
And more! : Christmas lights, candy cane weapons, streamer shotguns and Christmas tree shrines can also be crafted and found throughout the archipelago!
New Buildable:
Snowman: Ever wanted to blow up a snowman with a rocket launcher? Of course you have, and now you can!

(Please note that you don’t actually get anything out of it other than the satisfaction of having blown up a snowman with a rocket launcher)

Snowmen can be built by default.
