DUCKSIDE Beta #2 is available now!

We heard you'd had a distinct lack of ducks in your life the last couple of months, so obviously, it's our duty to change that.

So, with that in mind... The second DUCKSIDE Beta is now live and available for everyone to play!


In order to access the beta, all you need to do is head over to the Steam page, scroll down to "DUCKSIDE Demo" and click "Download" and the game will be added to your account.



Since the first beta, we've been hard at work developing the game, analyzing your feedback, suggestions and ideas (of which there was A LOT) and working out the best ways to improve the overall experience for our players. So this Beta has launched with a ton of new content, additions, fixes and improvements, much of which driven by our community themselves!

Patch Notes


[h2]What's New[/h2]

  • A variety of new hats are now available to keep up with the ever changing duck fashion scene
  • New mission areas: Port and Missile Silo
  • Beta players can redeem an exclusive hat
  • Toolboxes can be found around the map and searched for loot
  • New flying mechanic - sprinting near the ground consumes less stamina
  • New Weapon: “Hunter Pistol” which consumes rifle ammo
  • Send feathers flying with new explosive ammo
  • Triangular foundations and floors have been added
  • New: Vertical hatch doors and double doors
  • Blueprints for flashlight and holosight items can now be found throughout the world
  • Players can now repair their buildings
  • PVE Servers have been implemented
  • Added a “comfort” level when ducks are inside the house when they can be healed over time


[h2]General Additions[/h2]

  • Game now displays the amount of time before base your decays
  • Added Camp Site near the small monument
  • Reworked the Factory location, making it more challenging
  • Added “last code” shortcut to door codes
  • Added Option to Mute Chat
  • Added labels to nests on the map
  • Players can now rename and delete nests from the map
  • “Free to use” furnaces can be found around the map
  • Fiber can now be gathered from berry bushes
  • Added Quick Craft shortcuts to the craft menu
  • Items can now be delivered in inventory one by one when multi-crafting same item
  • Added option for higher level workbenches to craft lower level workbench items.
  • Train carts can be exploded which allows you to scavenge resources


[h2]Improvements[/h2]

  • Item stacks increased
  • Slightly altered how items are shown when worn by the duck
  • Added visual effects to fully charged bows
  • Various research prices were decreased
  • Nest health points reduced
  • Change interact keybinding without breaking recycler
  • Players now see if they do not have enough feathers to buy things in vending machine
  • Items that can be used or placed now move to Quick Bar Slots after crafting
  • Other
    minor improvements


[h2]Bug Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed items spawning wrong in front of the recycler when this was full
  • Fixed the research table not disassembling
  • Fixed an issue where the hat would change after the character's death
  • Fixed and issue where changing default F interact button to default E interact button would break active recycler process
  • Fixed an issue where items are picked up from the floor when opening doors or crates.
  • Other minor bug fixes

To reiterate what we stated during the last Beta, our long term goal with this game is to work alongside our community to continually improve, iterate and develop with the players feedback and suggestions in mind in order to deliver a game that is enjoyable and accessible for everyone, feathered and featherless alike.

We've received a duck-ton of questions from players since we announced DUCKSIDE early in April and since our recent beta ended, so today we're going to answer some of the most common questions that have been filling our inboxes of late!


What is DUCKSIDE?

Imagine DayZ or Rust but you're a duck. DUCKSIDE is a persistent world survival game with PVP, PVE, crafting, base building and hat wearing ducks, wielding weapons.

Is this a real game?

The game is as real as the feathers on your wings, or if you’re one of those unsettling featherless creatures, the tears of joy that fill your eyes after witnessing our wonderful trailer or having played the previous beta.

In short, yes, this is a very real game.

Will DUCKSIDE be free?

No, DUCKSIDE will be a paid game, with the pricing still to be decided. However, the Open Betas are free and we invite you all to join and help us improve the game ahead of launch!

When will we be able to play a beta?

We’re recruiting new ducks to join us in our Beta which starts on the 6th of June.

How do I sign up for the beta?

Is there anything new in the June 6th Beta?

The beta will include significant balancing adjustments and other improvements alongside a number of new features, cosmetics, and more. We have even more major updates planned to come to the game over the course of the beta too, so stay tuned for news!

How long will the beta stay open?

We are still yet to decide on the length of the playtest, but we’ll have more news on this soon.

I am a content creator, is it possible to get access before the beta?

You can contact our Community Manager TinyBuild-Jay on Discord or via a DM on the community hub with a link to your channel and we will see what we can arrange! No promises however.

Which servers will be available in the beta? Will custom servers be an option?

We will have servers in Europe, USA, LATAM and Asia and are looking to expand these options based on the interest for the playtest.

Will it be released for consoles?

We are focusing on the Windows version for the time being, but we would like to allow as many players as possible to enjoy the game, regardless of platform, so we’ll cross that bridge further down the line.

BETA now finished | A Huge thanks to over 150,000 Ducks!



Hello Everyone.

After an incredible 3 weeks for DUCKSIDE and the development team, we have now completed the first BETA for DUCKSIDE.

With that, we'd like to offer a huge thank you to all of you who took part and helped us improve, develop and grow the game with your feedback, suggestions, insights and positivity since the Beta began. It's been an amazing experience working with you all and we can't wait to share our plans for the future of the game with you in the coming months!
