Community Announcement: Roadmap Change
[p]Ahoy Voyagers![/p][p]Steph here, Producer at Treehouse. I’m filling in for Michael/SpaceNorth while he’s off at the Tokyo Game Show![/p][p]It has been a whirlwind of a launch period. We have had many late nights investigating bug reports, reading through tons of feedback, watching streams, chatting with you in discord and more. Thank you all so much for all of your support for our launch.[/p][p]Now that we’re about a week past our launch, we wanted to recap some of what we’ve heard and learned from your feedback, and we want to share what the next steps are for Voyagers.[/p][p][/p][h3]Here is what players are loving[/h3]

- [p]A lot of folks are feeling that the boat handling is too cumbersome, especially if you’re alone.[/p]
- [p]Lack of control settings[/p]
- [p]Things like controller support, mouse sensitivity settings / input settings[/p]
- [p]Clunky, Slow and Repetitive Feeling Combat[/p]
- [p]A lot of negative feelings around animation lockouts, knockback mechanics on certain weapons, and more[/p]
- [p]Lack of enemy and boss variety[/p]
- [p]Especially around the Construct fights and their repeat appearances[/p]
- [p]Poor Performance / GPU crashes[/p]
- [p]Many are having unanticipated performance or crash issues[/p]
- [p]General balance hotspots[/p]
- [p]Craft from chests coming online too late[/p]
- [p]Ore Weight vs Encumbrance not feeling well balanced[/p]
- [p]XP pacing being too fast[/p]
- [p]Bugs bugs bugs!![/p]
- [p]Bugs with Spire Encounters not completing correctly[/p]
- [p]Bugs with quests that block progression[/p]
- [p]Bugs with hallways not being deletable[/p]

- [p]And more! We’ll be trying to knock out all of the most severe bugs[/p]
- [p]November Quality of Life Patch[/p]
- [p]Improved Controller Support[/p]
- [p]We want to introduce an improved native controller support, where all menus and gameplay should be accessible from the controller, and in-world buttons should display the controller inputs[/p]
- [p]Solution for Solo Sailors[/p]
- [p]We are still exploring what this means, but we want solo sailors to have a single-station option they can use to sail the seas, while maintaining a dual-station option for players who enjoy the extra challenge, or for co-op players who want to share the boat with their friend![/p]
- [p]We will be introducing a personal-sized sailboat which will have a Single station to operate from, while maintaining the current boats. We hope this will strike the right balance between players who want to sail solo, while maintaining the skill and co-op play of the larger vessels.[/p]
- [p]Combat improvements[/p]
- [p]We want to ease the lock out times and improve transitions between animations, as well as explore some additional mechanics to make combat less repetitive[/p]
- [p]Updates to Ruins and Construct[/p]
- [p]We want to add some variation to the encounters, and improvements to the Construct’s behavior so it behaves more reliably[/p]
- [p]Balance and Progression changes[/p]
- [p]We want to bring Crafting from Storage earlier into the progression tree, re-balance Encumbrance values, and re-balance what you can do on the skimmer (namely: using bandages/eating!)[/p]
- [p]Inventory Improvements[/p]
- [p]We want to introduce naming storage chests, an inventory sort button, and options to be able to quick deposit into storages more easily[/p]
- [p]More Settings![/p]
- [p]We want to introduce critical settings like Mouse Sensitivity, fix issues with mouse smoothing, introduce Toggle Sprint, and ability to Remap the Hotbar (to support AZERTY keyboards); we hope to add more, but these are the most certain![/p]
- [p]Building Improvements[/p]
- [p]Prevent resources from respawning under buildings[/p]
- [p]Allow large frames to snap to each other so you can build big rooms[/p]
- [p]Dedicated Server Improvements[/p]
- [p]Improved Direct Connect IP options[/p]
- [p]Allow players to join passworded servers with Invite codes[/p]
- [p]Fix issues where server browser isn’t showing all of the servers[/p]
- [p]Better error messaging for join errors[/p]
