Historical Fashion Dress Up 1.2.0: Rococo is here!

[p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p]
Historical Fashion Dress Up version 1.2.0 is finally live on Steam!
[p][/p][p]Hey everyone![/p][p]This is a major update that overhauls the game and adds three new fashion packs for you to explore: 1680s men's fashion, and the long-awaited 1780s women's and men's fashion![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We have also updated existing packs to support our new multi-color system, and added animals taken from historical paintings as a new accessory category! The UI has also had a complete redesign ✨[/p][p]A big focus for us with this patch was to improve the general flow and pacing in the game, and we've made it quicker to navigate menus, switch packs and manage wardrobes. We also decided to remove the tailors and the rudimentary dress-up events from the game. The idea of dressing up for certain events is one we want to explore more fully in a future implementation.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Another big focus was performance and stability. In previous versions of the game there was a slight stutter whenever a character was randomized, and there were some bugs with the old wardrobe where your saved outfits and characters would look different when loaded.[/p][p]To fix this, and to allow for more customization, we have rewritten the game's code from scratch with a more robust architecture. Now the game supports fast randomization, stable saves and even undo/redo![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]With all these structural improvements to existing packs, saves made in the previous version (version 1.1.1) are no longer compatible with this version. To remedy this we have added a one-time migration that runs when you launch the new version. It exports the thumbnails of your old outfits and saves them to Documents/HFDU/LegacySaves, so you can recreate them if you wish.[/p][p][/p][p]Furthermore, we've added the old version 1.1.1 as a beta branch on Steam, so you can switch between the old and new versions at your leisure.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]If you detect bugs in this new version, or have any other feedback, please let us know. We want to keep making HFDU as great as it can be![/p][p][/p][p]Have fun exploring the new content, and remember to take plenty of screenshots! 📷[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Stay tuned for more updates! ⭐[/p][p]- Maria and Carl from Tidvis[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Version 1.2.0 - Changelog
[p][/p][p]Added[/p]

The 1680s are just around the corner!

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to bring you some new content in Historical Fashion Dress Up! We are finalizing the last few details on the 1680s pack and hope to update the game soon.

Here’s a sneak peek into the pack:

It has been fascinating diving into Dutch and German paintings from the 1600s—there are so many wonderful depictions of everyday life! Take, for example, these paintings from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam:

Vegetable Market, Nicolaes Maes, 1655 - 1665

The Merry Family, Jan Havicksz. Steen, 1668

We’re thrilled that you’re as excited about this update as we are! What other periods in history would you love to see?
