  • Optimize game for cities with a lot of production buildings
  • Bubble and technology lookup optimizations
  • Fix incorrect Female Sit animation
  • Visually improve static environment Ambient Occlusion
  • Improve storm shader and tweak storm and raindrops
  • Work efficiency label does not block raycasts when building
  • Fix cinematic audio
  • Reduce camera jumping at high framerates
  • Fix Vsync and Screen Resolution being reset after the game relaunch

We've been releasing a lot of updates that address a range of different game elements, improvements, and bugs!

Version-0.7.0a15
  • Allow going underwater with the camera
  • It's now possible to look slightly upward with the camera
  • Add full-screen underwater effect when the camera is below water level
  • Add key modifiers to the deconstruction tool: CTRL - includes connected buildings of the same prefab. Shift - include the whole island of buildings
  • Fix storm particles rendering underwater
  • When using reposition tools, return if other tool was selected - prevents tools from entering a bad state and sometimes hiding objects unintentionally
  • Bubbles fade out when building new buildings
  • Storage priority buttons are enabled for all storage if the tech is there
  • Add -noVideo command line option to disable video players. Might reduce crashes, let us know!
  • Reencoded all video clips to remove warnings - might reduce crashes
  • Simplify multiple meshes to use single materials - improves Paint Tool compatibility and rendering
  • Reduce and optimize polygons on multiple meshes
  • Fixed Paint Tool closing on buildings that the player is unable to build
  • Hide resident drawer setting. Disable occlusion culling by default. Add warning tooltip - should prevent some meshes from being culled incorrectly

We have coded-up some performance improvements and these changes are now live for playtesting. Let us know how your city looks and if these changes have improved performance for you!

Version-0.7.0a11
  • Fix water shader to be compatible with early Direct X 11 versions
  • Change default water compute resolution to 512, add options to switch even lower or higher
  • Only update water wave frequency spectrums when needed - reduces GPU load when weather is not changing
  • Add approximate shadow rendering system which renders boxes instead of whole objects at a distance. Add setting for it
  • Smooth-edged weather segment UI borders for smoother movement
  • Enable SRP batcher and instanced drawing by default
  • Enable small object culling. Make wooden wind turbine blades immune to small object culling
Version-0.7.0a12
  • When bug report filesize is too large only include the last save file to the report instead of whole playthrough
  • Optimize citizen congestion calculations - should improve performance with cities with a lot of walking citizens
  • Don't set moss values when renderable is above water - improves renderer batching, especially for cities way above water
  • Water compute is always synchronized - should fix water stuttering from a11 update
  • Renderable shadows now also support using child renderers as proxy box providers - some shadowcasters now have more accurate shadow proxies
Version-0.7.0a14
  • Disable Resident Drawer for Direct3D feature level 11.0 cards
  • Optimize water to use less GPU for computing
  • Fixed resources not spawning after loading a save
