Weekly DevLog: Scenarios with the Akkulok AL1

[p]First of all, we have great news for you! You can now add the upcoming Akkulok AL1 DLC to your Steam wishlist! More information can be found below.[/p][p][/p][p]This week is all about the upcoming scenarios featuring the Akkulok AL1. To keep things as varied as possible, we’ve added several exciting scenarios in addition to the career and timetable modes – each lovingly crafted with attention to detail.[/p][p][/p][p]In the first image, you’ll see... toilets. Sounds strange? It is! We won’t give away what you’ll be doing with them just yet, but let’s just say: it’s unusual, creative, and definitely not your everyday mission.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In the next two images, things get more serious: a DT5 has broken down in Wandsbek. Luckily, the AL1 comes to the rescue to tow the train away. Quick coupling is crucial here – the next scheduled train is already on its way, and every minute counts![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The last two images show the area around the Saarlandstraße track workshop (Lsa). Here, cargo is being prepared for an upcoming construction project. Two AL1 locos are used for the job – they are separated to allow freight wagons to be coupled between them and get everything ready for transport.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We can't wait to show you even more soon – and we're excited to see how you’ll handle the new scenarios. Until next time, happy shunting, coupling, and exploring![/p][p][/p]

About the Akkulok AL1 DLC
[p][/p][p]The Akkulok AL1 DLC is currently in development for Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. We’d love to hear your feedback in the Steam discussions, on our Discord server, or via Instagram. Don’t forget to add the Akkulok AL1 DLC to your Steam wishlist to stay up to date with the latest news![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Please note: The shown content is from a work-in-progress version of the game. Weekly DevLog: Halloween Update

[p]🎃 Happy Halloween, dear community! 👻[/p][p]As the leaves fall outside and darkness settles over the tunnels, it’s time for a small but exciting DevLog Halloween update! 🦇🚇[/p][p]Today, we’re taking a look at a feature many of you have been curious about: coupling with the Battery Locomotive AL1! ⚡[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The AL1 is equipped with a Scharfenberg coupler, which makes coupling in-game pleasantly simple.[/p][p]Just slowly drive up to the desired vehicle – for example, the LB6 wagon – and the connection will automatically lock into place. The system engages on its own, just like in real life.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]To supply power to the LB6, you’ll need to manually attach a power cable between the AL1 and the wagon.[/p][p]This cable transfers electricity so the wagons can be properly powered.[/p][p]It’s a classic touch of realism – you’ll need to connect it yourself to complete the setup.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]When you want to uncouple the locomotive, the process is just as realistic:[/p][p]Inside the cab, there’s a button to release the coupling mechanism.[/p][p]After that, simply disconnect the power cable to fully separate the locomotive.[/p][p]Only then is the AL1 ready for its next task – whether it’s shunting duties or coupling to another vehicle.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]This feature offers a first glimpse into the level of detail and mechanics behind the upcoming Battery Locomotive AL1.[/p][p]More exciting functions will be added in future updates – so stay tuned for new information about the AL1 and its role in the game! ⚡[/p][p]Until then, we wish you a spooktacular Halloween and lots of fun exploring the tunnels…[/p][p]Who knows what might be lurking down there in the dark... 👀🎃[/p][p][/p]

About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Weekly DevLog: A Major Update Is Coming!

[p]Next week on Thursday, October 30, 2025, the time has finally come: Update 6 will be officially released. You have been waiting a long time, you have shared countless requests, and we are excited to now announce that the release is just around the corner. It is especially important to us to emphasize that the update will launch simultaneously on all platforms, PC, PlayStation 5 und Xbox Series X/S. No one will have to wait – everyone will be able to jump in at the same time.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]One of the central highlights of this update is the brand-new graphics overhaul. We didn’t just improve individual elements—we started completely from scratch. The entire graphical foundation has been rebuilt to not only significantly improve performance but also to deliver a truly natural and realistic lighting experience at every time of day. As a result, the game doesn’t just look more modern—it feels entirely new and atmospheric in a way that transforms the overall experience.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]There are also major improvements to gameplay. In Berlin, the radio system is now fully functional, enabling realistic operational procedures for the first time. At the same time, in Hamburg, players can now explore the new BSA and LSA areas introduced in preparation for the upcoming Akkulok AL1 DLC. These areas were previously unused but are now coming to life. You can already walk around, explore, and familiarize yourself with the environment to be ready when the DLC launches.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Another major focus of this update is the overhaul of Berlin’s tunnel network. All tunnel sections have been fundamentally redesigned both visually and technically to meet modern standards. In addition, a dynamic tunnel lighting system has been implemented that randomly illuminates or darkens tunnel segments. This creates a unique atmosphere on every journey and delivers the authentic feeling of real underground railway operations.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Of course, no major update would be complete without improvements to the trains themselves. All vehicles have been thoroughly reworked: bugs have been fixed, sounds have been redesigned for greater authenticity, interior lighting has been adjusted, and headlights now function correctly according to real-world standards. A special highlight is the G1E series—also known as “Gisela.” Previously limited to the U2 line, it can now occasionally be encountered on the U1 or U3 as well. The Gisela features its own unique sound profile, a fully functioning destination rollsign, and realistic headlights, earning its rightful place within the Berlin network.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We hope you are just as excited as we are. Update 6 is the biggest update in the development history of SubwaySim 2 and marks a true milestone that elevates the entire gameplay experience to a new level. With the combination of new graphics, redesigned routes, dynamic systems, and improved vehicle technology, the game now feels fresher, more realistic, and more alive than ever before. We cannot wait to see you driving with all the new features starting next week and we are looking forward to your reactions![/p][p][/p]

About SubwaySim 2
[p][/p][p]SubwaySim 2 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
