Colorado Road Network

Truckers can spend over 300 days per year on the road delivering a variety of loads across different states and countries. That is why our teams spend a lot of time making sure road networks are represented in the best way possible within our titles; and Colorado for American Truck Simulator will be no exception.

From unique junctions to famous truck stops, Colorado will feature unique road layouts and landmarks familiar to truckers who drive in the area frequently. One such example is the Mousetrap, the nickname given to an interchange located near the city of Denver that was built in the 1950s. Today, its layout has become a landmark known to the millions of drivers that pass through it every year.

Truck stops are also another important aspect to truckers in the United States. Every night, these stops become a temporary home and safe space for drivers from around the country as they make their journey. Each one has its own unique look and feel, which we are doing our best to recreate in our title with each new DLC.

So what else does colorful Colorado have to offer? We will be sharing more content as we develop it for this upcoming DLC which you can help support by adding it to your Steam wishlist! You can also find some exclusive content not found on this blog across our social media channels, so be sure to look out for them on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Please keep in mind that the screenshots that we have shared today are still in a work in progress state, including road signage, mountains, scenery, and the junctions themselves and do not represent the final product.

#CruisingIdaho Extended!

Having received quite a few messages from our #BestCommunityEver about not finding enough free time to finish their personal goal in the currently ongoing #CruisingIdaho World of Trucks event, we started wondering if we should extend its duration a little bit more.

https://steamcommunity.com/games/americantrucksimulator/announcements/detail/2724065888612012350

Summer is now in full swing, which means that people are spending more time with their families or on travelling and vacations (well, at least for those who can despite the COVID-19 challenges affecting tourism and travelling in general); many may not have met the requirements needed to obtain the event's rewards. We've also gotten quite a few messages from our players who were getting stuck on trying to reach the event's goal, which meant that they needed more time to successfully complete the event.

We suggest reading the event's rules very carefully. You are asked to pick-up from or deliver a job to all of the 11 cities in Idaho. For example, if you start a job from Boise and complete its delivery to Idaho Falls, this will count as 2 of the 11 cities required for the event's personal goal. However, if you then complete a job from Idaho Falls to Salmon, this job will earn you only 1 additional completed city as Idaho Falls has already served as the start/end point for a previous delivery. You will have to start a delivery from or deliver to all of the 11 cities in Idaho DLC to complete the personal goal. If you're not sure what cities have you had in your recent deliveries, you can always check a few recent jobs you did in the Log Book on World of Trucks website.

After asking our community directly for their opinions on such an extension, we've decided to fulfill these wishes to extend the duration of the #CruisingIdaho event till August 24, 23:59 UTC!

In short, there is now an extra week for all those who could benefit from a bit more time. Don't forget also about the #CaptureIdaho screenshot sharing contest, which is still ongoing. We've been watching our social media profiles and we have to admit that our judges will surely have a difficult task picking the winners; so far we love nearly all of what we've spotted!

The Great Plains of Colorado

As one of the more diverse states in terms of geography and topography, the US region of Colorado is known for its national parks and modern cities. The state is especially famous for its Rocky Mountains, however, much of the eastern part of the region is dominated by a unique grassland that extends across the American continent.

From Northern Canada to Southern Texas, the Great Plains is an area that stretches more than eighteen hundred miles from north to south and more than five hundred miles from east to west. Today, much of this expansive prairie is used for agriculture that produces dozens of food and fiber products.

Wheat, barley, canola, corn, cotton, sorghum, and soybeans are just a few types of crops and produce planted and grown by farmers in the Great Plains; but that's not all! This large expanse of land is also perfect for grazing livestock, the majority of them being pigs and cattle.

In Colorado, nearly half of the states 66 million acres are dedicated just to farms and ranches, which makes it one of its largest industries. Drivers in our upcoming DLC will be sure to play a key role in contributing to this important economy and exporting the states produce across the states. From hay bales to farming equipment, truckers will be the backbone of making sure this important and large industry in Colorado keeps on moo-vin'!

If you think that Colorado for American Truck Simulator will be plain amazing, then be sure to add it your Steam Wishlist!

The First 5 Days of #CruisingIdaho

Five days ago, we released the latest expansion for American Truck Simulator, the state of Idaho.
With its release, we also introduced a very special World of Trucks event for our community, the #CruisingIdaho event.

We wanted to set the community goal to a number which wouldn't put too much pressure on our players while hoping it would last for at least a week or two, but you, our #BestCommunityEver have smashed right through it and have left us speechless once again!

Your amazing support kicked the Idaho DLC to the first position in Global Top Sellers on Steam to steal a few minutes of fame from other big titles (sorry Death Stranding, but not sorry). Thank you so much for your support!

But that was not enough for you, because immediately thousands of you joined the #CruisingIdaho event and the community goal of 30,000,000 miles was completed on Sunday morning, which left us all astonished!

But please do not worry for a second! Because with the community goal finished, it doesn't mean that we are going to end the event anytime soon! We do not want to bring any pressure or make you feel like you have to hurry and rush through this new DLC to complete the personal goal to earn the rewards. You all can slow down your trucks a bit, open windows, let the fresh Idaho air come to your truck's cabin, and enjoy the view a bit.

The event will conclude on the 16th of August, 2020, 23:59 UTC!

Meanwhile, while you're filling up your tanks or taking a rest at some of the new Idaho rest stops, you can watch some of the community videos created in this latest map expansion! As usual, these below are just a very few of those videos and stream recordings that caught our eyes recently, and if you want to find more, or your favorite streamer or content maker, be sure to check the full list of videos that can be found here.
