American Truck Simulator News

Today we are very pleased to reveal a top-secret project that we've been working on for the past few months; one that is hugely special for us too.

We are certain that our community of truck enthusiasts is familiar with an upcoming and still under-wraps truck from Western Star®, currently named and promoted as The NEXT Western Star.

This new truck is built to thrive in the most rugged of environments, on a heritage of toughness, and built to take on anything. The most tested, durable, and toughest Western Star® truck to-date will be unveiled on the 29th of September.

With great honor and pleasure, we can now announce that very shortly after The NEXT Western Star® truck releases, we will herald its arrival to American Truck Simulator too. 



We are bound to not show anything that has not yet been revealed by Western Star®, so please pardon us for not sharing any additional info or details with you today. We greatly appreciate this superb opportunity for such a collaboration with them; it is a first for SCS Software to work this closely with a leading American truck manufacturer on synchronizing the release of a brand-new truck.

We are extremely proud to have established ourselves firmly within the trucking industry; earning Daimler Trucks North America's trust to get physical access to the prototype truck, which was necessary to start building this truck for our virtual world.



Whilst not being able to show all our cards today, we trust that this comes as a truly exciting announcement (with a few teaser shots) for you as it is for us, to be working on The NEXT Western Star® truck. The year is 1890, Wyoming and Idaho have just been admitted as the 43rd and 44th states in the USA and the last great North American "Gold Rush" has just begun. 73kms southwest of Colorado Springs, a "part-time cowboy and full-time drinker" known as Robert Womack has just found small specks of gold glittering in the local creek, which encouraged him to dig countless prospecting holes in an attempt to find more. The outcome? The richest gold mine in Colorado's history.



Today The Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine is still an active mining area, being the only remaining significant producer of gold in the state. In 2019, the mine excavated over 11 tons of gold, which was priced at around $511 million USD. In the same year, the mine had reported to have an estimated 118 tons of proven and probable reserves which have yet to be excavated.


With plenty of work still to do, there is no shortage of jobs for drivers who haul important mining equipment and waste rock to and from the mining site. In our upcoming Colorado DLC for American Truck Simulator, truckers will be able to assist in the day to day operations of this enormous open-pit mine located near Colorado Springs. Just make sure to take extra care when driving on the dirt roads that lead into the delivery points.

With over a thousand submissions made using the hashtag #CaptureIdaho across our social media profiles, our judges have had quite the handful to choose their favorites pictures submitted from you our community. On July 16th, we invited you to take part in our World of Trucks Event #CruisingIdaho, which celebrated the release of Idaho for American Truck Simulator. The community goal at hand was to achieve 30,000,000 miles (48,280,320 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Idaho, and deliver you did.



In one of the fastest event completions we've seen, you achieved the set goal in less than 72 hours, wow! We couldn't believe how fast the goal was met; it just goes to show the amazing power of our #BestCommunityEver. While the community goal was completed, there were still many truckers who hadn't had the time to complete their personal goal to explore all 11 cities in Idaho. So we decided to extend the event not once, but twice, just to make sure everyone got a chance to gain their rewards.



Incredible work truckers! We cannot thank you enough for your support during the release of Idaho and we are excited at the idea of what other unique events we can bring to the American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. It really does bring a lot of joy to our team to see how much you enjoy participating in these events. We hope you ride with pride with your newly acquired Idaho paint jobs & hanging accessory.
