American Truck Simulator: 1.57 Update Release

[p]Today, we have some positive news for all our players of American Truck Simulator. The 1.57 update is now officially released, so you can explore the new features it brings![/p][p][/p][p]We would like to thank everyone who participated in the Open Beta and reported any bugs. As always, this really helped us fine-tune the update so everyone can enjoy it without issues. Now, let's take a look at what's new! [/p]
HDR Support
[p]We have implemented HDR (High Dynamic Range) support in the game. HDR is a feature that enhances image quality, allowing players with HDR-compatible monitors or TVs to experience richer colors and improved contrast.

Alongside HDR, we have also updated the brightness setup to give players more control over visual settings. This includes a dedicated setup screen where you can preview your brightness adjustments on actual in-game images, as well as an HDR Calibration feature, which lets you fine-tune the HDR effect using a simple slider.[/p][p][/p][p]For players using HDR-compatible displays, the feature will be automatically detected in the game, ensuring that you get the best possible visual experience from the moment you start playing. [/p]
Reworked Players' Company Logos
[p]Update 1.57 refreshes your company identity with a new set of logos to choose from when creating or updating your profile. The classic designs were modernized to give every company a fresh but familiar look.[/p][p][/p]
Cursor Navigation Enhancements
[p]With this update, we've also fine-tuned the cursor navigation experience. The cursor speed is now consistent across all screen resolutions, and the overall speed has been slightly increased when using a controller, making navigation smoother and more responsive.

South Dakota: Cities

[p]There’s much more to South Dakota than Mount Rushmore! Today, we’re excited to give you a look at some of the cities featured in our upcoming South Dakota DLC for American Truck Simulator. Each one has its own unique history and charm, which has been captured and recreated by our talented teams. Ready to take a closer look? Let’s hit the road![/p][p]
[/p][p]Spearfish[/p][p][/p][p]Situated at the edge of the Black Hills, Spearfish is one of the first cities you may encounter if you travel from the neighbouring state of Wyoming! Featuring dense forests, rock formations, and plenty of nature, we are sure you will enjoy the scenery surrounding this city.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Whilst there is plenty of nature to admire, drivers won't need to hang around long as Spearfish features an industrial & downtown area which offers players a variety of job contract opportunities. Whether you are haulin' long or short, Spearfish will always welcome drivers passing through.  [/p][p][/p][p]Mobridge[/p][p][/p][p]Located close to the North Dakota border, the city of Mobridge sits right on the banks of the mighty Missouri River. One of the standout landmarks here is the historic Missouri River Bridge. Originally built in 1959, this crossing is uniquely split by the time zone line, one side sits in Mountain Standard Time and the other in Central Standard Time![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]In Mobridge, you can take a drive through its charming downtown area, with job opportunities available from local industries nearby. Take your time, enjoy the relaxed pace, and soak in the surrounding nature as you make your way through this peaceful riverside community.[/p][p][/p][p]Winner[/p][p][/p][p]Located near the Nebraska state border, the city of Winner is rooted in agriculture and small-town pride. So how did this city receive its name? In 1909, it was the “winner” in the race to secure the railroad right-of-way when the Chicago and North Western Railway began moving west from Dallas, South Dakota.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Downtown, you will also find a colourful mural, which has been faithfully recreated in-game by our talented team, which reflects the area’s heritage, adding a distinctive local touch as you pass through. Be sure to look out for it! [/p][p][/p][p]Buffalo[/p][p][/p][p]In the far northwest, you'll discover Buffalo, one of the smallest towns in South Dakota. Its remote setting delivers a genuine sense of frontier landscape, with quiet roads, surrounding plains, and an unhurried pace of life for its residents.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]As you travel through, be sure to look out for Centennial Park, known for its animal statues celebrating the region’s wildlife legacy. In fact, South Dakota has two towns named after animals, Buffalo and Bison, both of which are featured in this upcoming DLC. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Like what you see? This is just a small handful of the many cities and settlements you’ll be able to discover on your future journeys through South Dakota. We look forward to sharing even more from this upcoming DLC for American Truck Simulator in the future. [/p][p][/p][p]If you enjoyed today’s preview, be sure to add South Dakota to your Steam Wishlist, your support means a lot to us! Until next time, happy haulin’!

Louisiana: Ferries & Moveable Bridges

[p]As we continue to explore the vibrant state of Louisiana for the upcoming American Truck Simulator DLC, today we’d like to share a closer look at some unique features that make this region truly special - ferries and moveable bridges (drawbridges).[/p][p][/p][p]Louisiana’s landscape is defined by its close relationship with water. From winding bayous to broad rivers and coastal inlets, the state’s transport network depends heavily on crossings of all kinds. Our team wanted to capture this distinctive aspect of life on the road, bringing players a more authentic driving experience that reflects Louisiana’s natural and industrial character.[/p][p]Ferries [/p][p]Several ferry crossings will be available to drivers in this DLC, including Cameron-Holly Beach, Cote Blanche, and Port Fourchon, where the ferry is the only link to the offshore oil storage facilities. These crossings offer drivers a chance to slow down and take in the scenic beauty of Louisiana’s waterways while providing practical connections across otherwise distant routes. Each ferry has been seamlessly integrated into the road network and features detailed animations for a smooth, immersive transition as you journey across the water.[/p][p][/p][p]Moveable Bridges[/p][p]Louisiana is also home to a variety of drawbridges and locks, which play an important role in both real-world transportation and in our recreation of the state. In places such as Monroe, Houma, and the Old River Lock, you’ll encounter moveable bridge structures that open and close to let boats pass. These features add a dynamic touch to your journey, creating moments where you might have to pause, watch, and enjoy the world around you before continuing your delivery.[/p][p][/p][p]And that's it for today! We can’t wait for you to experience these crossings for yourself when the Louisiana DLC arrives in American Truck Simulator. Remember to add the DLC to your Steam Wishlist and don't forget to give our X/TwitterInstagramFacebookBluesky, and TikTok a follow or subscribe to our newsletter, as you'll receive updates about our games! We look forward to sharing more with you soon.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]

Illinois: Champaign

[p]Nestled right in the heart of the Prairie State, Champaign offers a warm welcome to every trucker passing through. In our upcoming Illinois map expansion for American Truck Simulator, you'll get the chance to experience its unique spirit firsthand - let's take a look at what awaits you.[/p][p][/p][p]Lying about 135 miles southwest of Chicago, Champaign forms a vibrant twin-city area with neighboring Urbana, often collectively called Champaign-Urbana. With its combination of small-town comfort, college-town energy, and Midwestern heritage, the city has a stand-out character. It is perhaps best known for the local university, a nationally recognized public institution with roots dating back to 1867.[/p][p][/p][p]The university campus is one of Champaign's main highlights, and we wanted to capture its atmosphere in this upcoming DLC. Our asset and map designers have carefully recreated several campus-inspired buildings as landmarks, including a modern instructional facility, an electrical and computer engineering building, and a large research institute, along with a small sign paying homage to the university itself.[/p][p][/p][p]Champaign's in-game cityscape features several other recognizable buildings, such as the city hall, hospital, church, a few higher-story buildings, and even a local park, all faithfully recreated to reflect their real-world counterparts, so if you are familiar with the town, you'll recognize some of these locations as you drive through.[/p][p][/p][p]While the university may be the city's most famous landmark, there's much more to discover in Champaign. The city takes pride in its vibrant cultural scene and growing agritourism, with many local farms offering tours where visitors can learn more about the region's rich agricultural traditions.[/p][p][/p][p]Agriculture, centered mainly on corn and soybeans, remains a vital part of the local economy, alongside food processing and other industries. To reflect this in the game, we've included a food processing depot where players can deliver and pick up cargo tied to this important industry. Besides that, if you're in the area and looking for work, be sure to stop by the local car dealer, furniture store, or warehouse depot to pick up another load![/p][p]If you are eager to visit Champaign in the upcoming Illinois DLC, make sure to add this map expansion to your Steam wishlist! Remember to stay tuned for more American Truck Simulator news by following us on TwitterFacebookInstagramBluesky, and YouTube. We would also really appreciate it if you could sign up for our newsletter. We will see you on the road![/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
