Team Memo 6-3-2019

A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:

Net code

We're making some optimizations to the net code.

Movement code

We're improving player movement, including tightening up how we handle momentum when players turn while moving.

Control changes

We're experimenting with changing some controls, including having Z to slide and T to cycle through the Yell/Whisper/Normal talk volumes.

Purchasable briefcase

We're trying out having briefcases be purchasable.

Versus mode

We're testing out a new gamemode, Versus. In this gamemode, three suitcases are spawned in the middle of the map and two teams fight over them.

Team Memo 5-27-2019


A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:

Phones

We are re-adding the second phone into each base, so teams will be able to better communicate amongst themselves. Currently, the second phone’s number is COMPANY PHONE NUMBER + 1. Example: Monsota’s first phone is 2222 and second phone is 2223.

Grabbing

We are currently experimenting with ways to re-add the grabbing system.

Network optimization

We’re trying out ways to optimize and smooth out the network code, to alleviate some of the occasional instances of player warping and teleporting.

Team Memo 5-20-2019



Last week, we pushed the new Sub Rosa Alpha .35 build! This was a pretty large update, including some control changes, HUD improvements, multiplayer quality-of-life additions, and gameplay tweaks. We’re currently monitoring the build to make sure it’s running smoothly.

Controls

We understand some of the new controls are a big change from the previous control scheme. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we find the ideal default controls for Sub Rosa. Further down the road, we intend to add keybind remapping for those who wish to customize their controls.

Grabbing

The grabbing system was deactivated in this build. We intend to revisit it in a future release.

Alpha 35 Build Now Available!

Alpha 35 Build Notes:
New inventory system Controls:
  • E to pick up items
  • 1-5 take out/put away item
  • R - reload (Now drops magazine in the weapon)
  • Q - Drop/Throw
  • Shift - Use opposite hand
General Updates and Improvements:
  • New account system (Unique phone numbers)
  • Fix player movement on stairs.
  • Checks model for hacks.
  • Improved garage door opening/closing.
  • Mute menu show players using voice.
  • Fixed camera interpolation.
  • Shows mic above players head when talking.
  • Improved car suspension/wheel physics.

  • Can't shooting while driving.

  • Players now regain consciousness without needing to be bandaged.
  • Right click to cancel drop/throw.
  • Displays when players die in Eliminator mode.
  • Round now have 90 seconds before starting.
  • Press F11 to bring up ping and packet loss display.

A quick update of some things we’ve been trying out:

Driver hands

We're testing some hand positions for vehicle drivers, in preparation for when we eventually implement car steering wheels.

Item handling

We're experimenting with having a transition time during certain inventory operations, such as storing/retrieving items and reloading weapons.
