New Roadmap - Path to Release

Three busy months after Early Access starts and several major updates are behind us, but the most important thing is yet to come.

We are sharing with you an updated development map.

Major Update 0.3.0: New Hero and His Path

[h3]Key changes[/h3]
  • Added a new hero, Dobrynya, and his path
  • Added two new bosses (a regular one and a legendary one) for Dobrynya’s Path
  • The journey has been extended from 18 to 21 steps
  • You will now encounter bosses on steps 7, 14, and 21
  • Added three new random events
  • Added 20 new Steam achievements

[h3]Rebalanced boss fights[/h3]
  • The Corrupted Sorcerer now gains Regen when entering the second corruption stage
  • The Yaga Defiler now uses Poisonous Thorns instead of Double Melee Attack on any step of the journey (rather than step 12 and up)
  • Improved the Triyuda, Veshtitsa, Vodyanoy, and Yaga Defiler’s behavior logic
  • Changed foe lineup in some battles

[h3]New relics[/h3]
  • Tinderbox (Rare): damage all foes by 2 upon forgetting a card
  • Quiver (Rare): damage a foe by 2 when they gain a debuff they don’t already have
  • Tiny House (Rare): decrease the cost of the first Boon added to your hand by 1 until the end of the turn. Can only be used once per round
  • Birchbark Rattle (Epic): gain 1 AP at the start of the round if your health is below 50%
  • Ivory Comb (Rare): gain Fortitude x1 upon using a consumable
  • Sash of Seven Silks (Rare): available at the merchant’s. Gain Fortitude x1 for the first card forgotten during the battle
  • Walking Stick (Epic): Gain Fortitude x1
  • Golden Rose (Uncommon): receive 25 Gold instead of 10 when you choose not to receive cards as a reward
  • Guardian Doll (Epic): draw 1 extra card each round
  • Crystal Teardrop (Uncommon): upon receiving a card into your deck, increase max. health by 1
  • Sorcerer’s Staff (Uncommon): gain a random buff at the start of each round
  • Living Fire (Epic): receive a random card upon forgetting a card
  • Wooden Stake (Epic): available at the merchant’s. Lose 3 Health and gain Vigor x2 at the start of each round
  • Werewolf Fang (Epic): available at the merchant’s. Gain Strength x1 for the first card forgotten during the battle
  • Jingle Bells (Uncommon): gain Vigor x2 upon using a consumable

[h3]Rebalanced relics[/h3]
  • The Iron Horseshoe now grants Vigor x2 instead of x3
  • The Healer’s Belt now grants two extra consumable slots instead of three
  • The Healer’s Pouch can now be obtained as part of a random reward (it was only available at the merchant’s before). New description: add 1 consumable slot

[h3]Rebalanced Varvara’s cards[/h3]
  • Inhuman Shield: cost decreased from 3 to 2 AP (2 to 1 when upgraded)
  • Balance of Power is now activated when you receive a status or a Curse into your hand (as opposed to a status only)
  • Adept: increased the number of cards that have their cost reduced from 1 to 2 (2 to 3 when upgraded). The upgraded version is now a Starter
  • Gift of the Otherside: cost of the upgraded version decreased from 2 to 1 AP. New description (both regular and upgraded): gain Strength x1 upon finishing off a Dying foe
  • Tactician: cost increased from 0 to 1 AP (both regular and upgraded). New description: gain 2 Armor (3 when upgraded). Select a Skill in your Discard Deck and place it on top of the Draw Deck
  • Blessings of Beloyar: cost decreased from 3 to 2 AP (both regular and upgraded)
  • Disarm now grants Fatigue x3 instead of 2 (4 instead of 3 when upgraded)
  • Piercing Strike: cost of the upgraded version decreased from 3 to 2 AP. New description (both regular and upgraded): deal 5 damage to the foe positioned last, then damage all foes in front of them, reducing damage dealt by 1 with each attack. This card is Constant
  • Fury now deals 5 damage instead of 3 (7 instead of 5 when upgraded)
  • Braid Swipe: new description — damage all foes by 2 (3 when upgraded) and inflict Fatigue
  • Vengeance now deals 7 damage instead of 8 (9 instead of 10 when upgraded)
  • Roundhouse is now Rare instead of Uncommon. New description: move the foe to the back position and inflict Perplexed and Vulnerable

[h3]Miscellaneous[/h3]
  • A button has been added that allows you to view the current Hero’s Path objective
  • Added a “new objective” notification on the victory screen
  • Changed the save structure
  • Revamped status bar VFX triggered by gaining or losing health or Gold
  • Added a unique background for the boss fight with Elena the Wise
  • Updated consumable and relic icons on the reward screen, as well as corresponding battle modifiers
  • The descriptions of cards that cost X now indicate how many times the effect will be activated during the battle
  • You can no longer receive two identical consumables as a reward for winning a battle
  • Werewolf Shaman: updated visuals
  • Bandit, Bandit Leader: added flee animation
  • Kriksa: added dodge animation
  • Werewolf Berserker: revamped Ferocity intention icon
  • The Cursed Pendant relic is now Epic instead of Rare
  • Reduced the chance of receiving a consumable as a reward from 60% to 50% on earlier journey pages
  • Werewolf Berserker: added SFX when entering Last Chance state
  • A random event with an Ornate Chest can no longer be encountered outside of steps 2–13 of the journey

[h3]Bug fixes:[/h3]
  • Failing to shut down your PC properly should no longer corrupt the current save
  • Water Drop (Vasilisa): removed duplicate tooltip
  • Cunning (Varvara) now reduces card cost until the end of the turn on which it was received
  • The hero’s dialogue no longer stays on the screen when restarting a battle
  • The game’s UI is now darkened properly when selecting cards as a reward for winning a battle
  • The Soothsayer’s Orb relic now displays cards in the Draw Deck in the correct order instead of reversed
  • Fixed the size of the Ѣ icon on the profile screen
  • Added missing whitespaces between sentences in page descriptions
  • Cards no longer remain on screen if you quit to the main menu before cards are dealt
  • When a run is forfeited from the main menu, the VFX of unlocking cards via Prestige is now displayed properly
  • Added tooltips for section bookmarks on the card collection screen
  • Shelter (Varvara): the wrong animation no longer plays when capturing a Dying foe
  • The Tekra’s and Witch’s health bars no longer overlap when these foes are adjacent to each other
  • Enemy movement intention icons are now properly crossed out if movement is blocked
  • The Immobile VFX no longer appears on the Werewolf Berserker, who cannot be immobilized
  • The roots no longer remain on screen when forgetting an entangled (unplayable) card
  • In the random event with the Wizard, foes now lose half their health when the right option is selected, as intended
  • The screen no longer remains darkened when a battle is restarted during an animation
  • Adjusted the position of the text that appears when interacting with cards so it is no longer overlapped by relic icons
  • Removed the empty tooltips from section bookmarks on the Settings screen
  • Fixed the position of card tooltips on various screens

[h3]Hotfixes 04.10[/h3]
  • Updated Dobrynya's image on the hero selection screen and on the battle victory screen
  • Dobrynya's base health has been reduced from 50 to 42

Characters - Werewolves

While our Discord community is getting acquainted with the new beta patch, we’d like to show you the stages of creating the Werewolves. After all, this pack is truly unforgettable!

Melee/ranged characters and enemies in the deck-building game "Deathless. Tales of Old Rus". The first appearance: version 0.2.2. Werewolves are not just shapeshifters, but sorcerers and witches, who can assume the form of a wolf at will. They have extraordinary strength and night vision, and can smell and hear several leagues ahead. Extremely ferocious in battle, they pose a huge danger even for bogatyrs.
