[h3]🎲 RANDOMISER UPDATE! 🎲[/h3]

We’re excited to introduce the Randomiser Update, a brand-new mode designed to breathe fresh chaos into your Void Sols experience! Whether you're a seasoned adventurer or just curious to mix things up, this mode offers endless replayability with unexpected twists around every corner.

Unlocking the Randomiser Update
To access this mode:
  • Complete the game at least once.
  • Start a new save, go to the Challenges menu, and select Randomizer.

From there, you can customize your experience with a range of settings to create a new adventure tailored to you!

Randomiser Settings
We have many settings to customize your randomiser experience:

🌱Custom Seed: If someone finds a particularly crazy seed, share it so others can give it a shot!
👾Random Enemies: Every enemy has a chance to be randomly transformed into any other enemy from the game
🗡️Random Item Placement: Flasks, Weapons, and all other equipment are randomly swapped throughout the game
🗝️Random Key Items Placement: Keys are randomly placed! We worked hard to ensure this doesn’t cause soft-locks, so be sure to check in unlikely places. There may be opportunities for sequence breaking you haven’t found!
📜Randomise Stats on Level Up: Every time you level up, your stats are randomly assigned out of the points available. Do you risk leveling up and messing with your stats?
⚔️Randomise Starting Weapon: Who knows what weapon you will start with, it could be any weapon from the entire game!
🏹Randomise Loadout on Level Up: All your loadout choices are made for you when you rest to level up. Learn to adapt to whatever RNG gives you! Combine this with random stats on level up for an extremely challenging and chaotic time.

Alongside the Randomiser update we’ve also updated the Void Sols Demo and implemented some bug fixes and other balance changes.

[h3]Patch Notes 1.5.3.6[/h3]
New Features
  • RANDOMISER CHALLENGE
    • Play the game with a variety of settings randomizing your experience and creating new and surprising encounters
  • Permadeath Option when creating a new save
    • This will permanently delete your save when you die! Use with caution
  • Recent Items can be viewed in the pause menu to help you remember the last 10 items you picked up
  • Added Steam Rich Presence!
Demo Update
  • Demo will be shortened up to the Warden
  • Demo progress and achievement progress can be carried across to the main game
  • Updated the demo to now include all 11 languages that are present in the main game
Gameplay Changes
  • You can no longer dash through breakable walls, you must attack them to pass. Letting players dash through these walls was causing some issues with pathfinding, enemy AI, and encounter design
  • Made one section of the Apex Castle Town a little easier
  • Made one section of the Factory a little easier
  • Final phase of Amalgamate enemy spawn changed
Minor Bug Fixes
  • Sols gained from killing Warden are no longer lost if you quit without resting
  • You can no longer find flasks in Ranger Challenge (as intended)
  • Fixed sorting on trapper spears, preventing them from rendering underneath the environment in some places
  • Ruby Phial description improved
  • Multiple localisation fixes in many places
  • Alpha Wolf should no longer be able to dash out of bounds
  • You should no longer see the “new” indicator if you find a potion ingredient prior to unlocking Potion Mixing
  • You should no longer be able to stay locked onto enemies that have died
  • Confessors can now have their movement speed modified (allowing them to be Trapped or slowed by Caltrops)
  • Fixed an animation bug with Frying Pan
  • Confirmation modal UI improvements

[h3]BALANCE CHANGES[/h3]
Primary Weapons
  • Scythe Heavy Attack hitbox and visual are more reliable now
  • Scythe Heavy Attack Stance Damage Multiplier
    • Original: 1
    • Updated: 2
  • Halberd Combo Attack has a bit more mobility, making it easier to land hits
Relics
  • Relic of Redirection no longer reduces Jolt damage from Lightning Talisman triggering Jolt on yourself. It still significantly reduces Jolt damage from enemies. We felt equipping the Relic of Redirection and Lightning Talisman offered a bit too much free damage with very little downside.
Enemies
  • Reduced maximum number of attacks the Alpha Wolf can chain together
  • Slightly reduced speed of one of the Cultist Harvester’s more difficult attacks
  • Slightly reduced tracking of one of the Pulverizer’s attacks
  • Apex Grunt Poison Stacks Per Hit
    • Original: 50
    • Updated: 80
  • Apex Grunt Attack Damage Per Hit
    • Original: 60
    • Updated: 50
Bosses
  • Infernal Warden
    • Chooses to use fire attacks at a more predictable cadence
  • Zenith
    • Phase 1 should no longer be able to dodge outside the arena
    • Phase 1 should attack at a more regular, predictable cadence
    • Phase 1 should dodge player attacks a bit more infrequently

Void Sols Patch 1.5.2.1 & Steam Deck Verified

Today we're excited to announce that Void Sols is Steam Deck verified! We've also just rolled out our first major patch, 1.5.2.1. We've added quite a few new features, gameplay changes, community bug fixes, and some more weapon balance changes.

[h3]New Features[/h3]
  • Apex Horn Statue does something now…
  • Frying Pan has a new secret synergy…
  • Equipping items play unique sounds!
  • All equipment that is picked up should now display a new item icon on the equipment button until hovered over by the player
[h3]Gameplay Changes[/h3]
  • Parrying Shield now parries whenever you release the button. Previously you could only tap to parry, meaning holding it did nothing. You can still tap to parry as before, but now you can also hold to ready the parry and release, allowing a bit more depth to parrying gameplay and not punishing the player for holding the button for a bit too long
  • Cold Debuff: This was previously dealing entirely too much damage to enemies. We have enough damage-dealing status effects, so we decided to rework this status effect into something that has a different kind of utility. Triggering cold on yourself has been unchanged, you still take a chunk of non-fatal damage, and have your stamina regeneration reduced. If an enemy is affected by cold however, they take stance damage, reduced move speed, and their stance will no longer regenerate until the status depletes.
  • The Codebearer puzzle should be a little easier now…
  • Zenith Phase 1 has some balance changes, and a small gameplay change that makes it a little harder
  • Some items moved around in Cultist Compound for better game progression
[h3]Critical Error Fixes[/h3]
  • Player can no longer go out of bounds by going south from Zenith arena
  • Infernal Key can still be picked up if you died after defeating Infernal Warden
  • Significant fixes to the ritual used to spawn Amalgamate
  • Blacksmith and Alchemist no longer ask for more alloy and alembics after you have fully upgraded
  • Switch Pro Controller should show proper glyphs on main menu and rebind correctly on controls menu (The menu would break previously)
  • Items that cannot be acquired in Challenge runs / Nox Trials no longer show up on maps
  • Music will now stop playing forever when quitting to the main menu in some cases
[h3]Minor Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • Updated OOBY music track
  • No more OOBY farming
  • No longer counting certain easter egg items on end screen
  • Fixed sprite sorting of miner spin attack effect
  • Fixed torches that were rendering as circles instead of diamonds
  • Improved sprite sorting of talisman projectiles
  • Blue Data Disc now shows up on Apex South Map to help players find the critical progression item
  • Added boulder shortcut that was missing on Mountain Map A

  • Adjusted Star Fish collider to be able to be caught from near the light spark

  • Music stops properly when using to teleport
  • There is no longer an invisible collider in the Groundskeeper arena after completing the fight

Void Sols Patch 1.5.1.4

Hello Triangles!

We've just rolled out a new patch, 1.5.1.4. This patch focuses on a few community bug fixes, a new accessibility feature and some balance changes.

New Features
  • Added a setting called “Disable Distortion Effects” that allows you to turn off the Mysterious Mushroom screen effect and other effects that can make the screen “wobbly”


Critical Error Fixes
  • Nox Gamma would heal enemies that are dead, causing a variety of enemy AI errors
  • Talisman audio no longer persists if you are using it when you die
  • Chewy Seaweed, Quiver of Holding, Verdant Berry, Purifying Needle, Stale Bread now all consume a use on press instead of on release
  • Inserted more safeguards to prevent rare crash when pressing “Die Immediately”
  • Immaculate can no longer die during its phase 2 transition, causing the player to get stuck and preventing phase 2 from ever happening

Minor Bug Fixes
  • Nox Alpha no longer accidentally buffs potions. The text still says it reduces potion effectiveness, but we have removed the buff without implementing the described debuff. We will update the text at a later date to remove the line about potions.
  • Garnet Aegis no longer accidentally buffing potion heal amount
  • Zenith move speed reset on stun, preventing inadvertent fast movement if stunned mid-attack
  • Fixing Spanish Latam metamorphic alloy / sol alembic localization error
  • Ensuring groundskeeper doesn’t cancel attacks when a confessor is killed
  • Preventing players from accidentally launching unimplemented Nox Trials due to a UI issue
  • Fixed enemy pathing issues in mines
  • The item pickup visible on the beach from the mountain disappears if you have picked up the item on the beach

Balance Changes
  • Reduced tracking on Brute Club & Dagger attack combo
  • Executing Weapon Perk
    • Original: If health < 30%, damage increased by 50%
    • Updated: if health < 25% then damage increased by 50% else if health < 50% then damage increased by 25%

Void Sols Minor Patch 1.5.1.3a

Hello Triangles!

We hope you’ve been having a good time exploring the depths of the Void. Thank you again for all your support on the game and make sure to join the chatter over on our Discord channel!

We've just rolled out a minor patch 1.5.1.3a to fix a bug that was sometimes causing the game to launch into a black screen. This was occurring mainly for players who had an old supermax challenge save.

If you are experiencing this issue, make sure to update your game now to the latest build!

The team is also currently working on a larger patch that will squash some other bugs, community reported issues and some balance changes to the game. We’re hoping to roll this out very soon, so stay tuned.
