Machina Monday #2

Welcome Voidseekers to the first Machina Monday (which is unhelpfully called #2 just to conform with the game's version).

Firstly just a big thanks to YOU for the reception of this silly robotical game. It's now eligible for Trading Cards which I've submitted for the big man Gaben to approve (it says it takes a few days). I'll make a news post when they're available for collecting.

But for now... Machina Monday updates will arrive every other week adding extra content and stuff to do, such as new classes, weapons, achievements, etc. As well as a bunch of other bits and bobs, like balance tweaks, QoL, bug fixes, etc. There's still quite a lot of those bits and bobs to finish off so in between there will be Maintenance Monday patches to try and slog through that hefty to-do list. And there may be hot fix patches whenever needed if crashes or other major issues pop up.

6 new classes to unlock have been added along with their usual achievements...
- Debug Dummy: A nice all-rounder who gains boosts for hacking.
- Amongoussy Allurer: A challenge class who deals with lots of meanies.
- Dodgy Networker: A class to explore the Stranger contacts.
- Errant Knight: For melee mashing fun.
- Banished Prisoner: Who adds some shopping spree interest.
- Talent Mimic: The strangest vessel who mimics the talents of other classes.

5 new weapons have been added (including the first Elementless weapon): Scrap Lobber, Master Sword, Reaping Sickle, Molecular Magnetron, Manifold Wand.

And 5 new Traitum items to go along with the weapons: Shellshock, Pristine, Discharge, Cook, Prism.

7 New Passive Items: Sealmentus Staff, Data Sync, Static Field, Knightly Shield, Bodily Chipset, Energy Fusion, Hydraulicised Emerald.

3 new Encrypted Stranger events: Desiccated Vessel, Ethereal Extortion, Coupon Cracker.

3 new Hats!: Boboom, Driluim, Scoots.

A new CRT style resolution has been added (1280x960). Both this and the Steam Deck's 1280x800 resolution now use correct scaling (instead of just stretching the screen). So during gameplay you'll have some extra room at the top and bottom to play with, though when showing any of the menus they still use the native 720p height (but show a texture at the top/bottom to hide the black bars).

Some improvements to menus when using a gamepad or keyboard-only controls.
- Shop: When an empty item is selected it will now show the usual selector icon.
- Shop: Moving the selector will no longer loop (eg in a Weapon Shop pressing Left when a shop item is selected will no longer move it to the Precision stat).
- Weapon Shop: If your Gun Stats are being shown but you're selecting a shop item then gun stat icon selector is now grey.
- Choose Shop menu: Pressing Up when a shop door is currently selected now won't take you to Continue, while pressing Down when the Continue is currently selected now won't take you to the shop doors.

Other misc changes...
- A new 1600x900 resolution has been added.
- Tutorial: The Status Screen section now talks about the Config tab having visibility options.
- Choose Starting Weapon menu: When hovering over a weapon whose element isn't contained within the chosen Difficulty then it will now display a warning.
- Rogue Convergence - Difficulty [3] Boss: The speed of his big balls have been reduced.
- Hats: The Sentrion and Snekouss hats now animate.
- Blacksmith Forger class: Each sector he now also gets a free upgrade for a random weapon, ability, and drone.
- Cog Gobbler class: He no longer gets healing Cog Sniffer drones, instead collecting Cog pickups now heals you and all Max Health modifiers now count as Max Energy modifiers.
- Guild Merchant class: Up to 3 shops will now have a sale on (instead of 1). In Survival Function 1-3 extra Troves will spawn each sector (instead of 1).
- Stranger event - Transference Elementaliser: When hovering over the option it will now also show your Max Health/Energy.
- Added some extra messages when you Hack various objects and special rooms (so you have a better idea of what they do).
- Rangum Converge weapon: Its projectile speed has been reduced (so they have more time to home-in on enemies).
- Auto-slugger weapon: Slightly increased its attack cool down.
- Buck Blunderbuss weapon: Slightly reduced its attack cool down.
- Diablos Sword weapon: This has changed to an Axe.
- Master Crafted Weapons passive item: This has been removed (been replaced with the Pristine weapon trait).
- Syphon Traitum: Its cost has been increased by +20.
- Doom Traitum: Its cost has been reduced by -14.
- The cost of all mega weapons has been increased by +20.
- Droneous Eggling ability: The Drone it spawns can now be of level 1-3 (instead of 1).
- Loyalty Card item: The highest possible sale discount is now 50% (instead of 35%).
- Vitality Banks item: It's Max Health/Energy bonus is now +5 (instead of +10).
- Mega Potion item: This now also creates a shockwave when used.
- Home Traitum item: The homing effect now reduces over time (so slow projectiles don't hang around the middle of the screen).

And some bug fixes...
- Game Won/Over screen: There was a chance of it crashing when using the Fortuity Destiny class.
- Codex Compendium - Weapon Itemography: The weapon's Damage stat wasn't correct.
- Mega Abilities: They would sometimes switch to a non-ability item if you bought temporary items.
- Shop - Stranger - Distilled Bodiliser: The stat boost could be the same stat as the reduction. The stat reduction would instead boost it.

Enjoy! :]
