Update 0.2 - new rooms, underground parking lots, internet cafes and more

We are glad to present to you update 0.2, which took us a little over a month to prepare. One more room for each hotel has been added to the game. We tried to make a variety of shapes to add more depth to the building process. That is, each hotel now has 6 living room types.


Some guests will now demand a parking space for their car. To satisfy their desire, you can build an underground parking lot. One cell of underground parking includes three parking spaces. Guests leave their car in the parking space and wait for the elevator on the underground floors. A total of three underground floors are available for construction.

The Internet Cafe is a new service room. Guests who want to use a computer and access the internet can come here. Internet cafe can be upgraded by adding new places with computers.


Due to these changes, we have redesigned all the levels. Therefore, you can play again from the beginning. Or replay the levels that you liked the most. You will definitely find something new on them. The changes have also affected the balance. Among other things, we tried to reduce the cost of managers so that starting from the level in New York it would be convenient for players to hire them and not to settle all the guests manually by dragging and dropping them into the rooms. Exterminators, who are hated by some, were also rebalanced (although we have an idea about them - in one of the next updates we will change the logic of their work - it will be more interesting!).

Building a hotel in the Free mode is now possible up to the hundredth floor! Due to this, we had to make adjustments to the balance, as well as to the background. What can you expect at such a height? Try to build a tall hotel and find out!

We have added Steam collectibles!
These include badges, 10 Trading cards, 5 Emoticons and 3 profile backgrounds.

In addition to that, there are a lot of small changes to the game:
- Added buttons to teleport the camera to the very bottom and the very top of the hotel. They appear on the left side of the screen when the hotel is at least 10 floors tall.
- Added new tutorial steps for presenting new features (such as building underground parking lots).
- Now if you delete a room during construction, the full cost of the room is returned.
- Fixed a bug where the room insulation window would open too high, off the screen.
- Fixed elevator checkboxes working in such a way that a checkbox is now always checked in one of the fields and you cannot uncheck it, leaving all fields empty.
- Fixed a bug when upon changing screen resolution, all guests fit on the waiting panel, but the scroll arrow still remained in place.
- Increased the maximum possible number of porters to 12.
- Fixed a bug in Montreal that occurred if you reached the second wave without buying service rooms and waited for the message that they should be bought, and then restarted the game so that the wave start window would appear afterwards.
- Other minor fixes.

Since the changes are significant, we had to remove progress within levels. However, global progress (information about which levels have been completed) will remain untouched. We hope you understand that this is a forced measure due to the redesign of all levels.

Preparing the next big update

Right now we are busy preparing the next big updates for the game. Let us tell you more about what to expect in the game in the next month.

We have decided to expand the construction area horizontally by four cells and add two new rooms for each of the hotels.

A new room will be added - an internet cafe. You will be able to upgrade it by adding new spaces with computers.


Some guests will require a parking space for their car. Underground parking lots will serve for this purpose. The hotel can now be expanded three floors down, but only parking spaces can be built underground. The load on the elevators will increase, because now they will have to deliver guests not only from the reception, but also from the parking lots.


We are also expanding the construction of the hotel all the way up to the 100th floor in Free Game. We will try to make sure that the background is also not monotonous. At high altitude you will meet some interesting surprises :) We plan to rename this mode to “Quick Play” and also add a “Sandbox” mode soon. But more on that later.

In the meantime, our artist is working on redrawing the interface elements. It will become more convenient and more pleasant to the eye. Moreover, the changes will affect not only the existing elements, but also a new layout of the main menu will be added. You can take a look at our preliminary progress on the screenshots. Please, let us know your opinion - it is very important for us!

When can we expect all this? We are not ready to give an exact date of the update release (it is also possible that the interface redesign will be presented in a separate standalone update), but definitely in the next month. We will try to please you as soon as possible!

Update 0.1.3 has been released!

[h2]In this update we have prepared both new game features and bugfixes.[/h2]

[h3]Major changes:[/h3]
- Added active pause mode. Now you can pause the game and during this time perform necessary actions - build new rooms, improve service rooms, check in guests and so on.
- Added the ability to choose the specialization of elevators. Now each elevator can be general (by default), for staff only or for guests only
- Added the ability to hire managers in Free Play


[h3]Other changes:[/h3]
- Added an option to stop clouds in Settings
- Added an option to change the temperature scale
- Global map is now zoomed out a bit more so that the maximum number of cities fit on the screen
- Improved overall game performance
- Changed some interface elements
- Fixed some localization bugs
- Fixed an issue where if there were two laundry rooms on neighboring floors, porters would only deliver laundry to one of them
- Fixed a bug that caused the exterminator's room to render on top of the wave indicator
- Fixed a bug where a porter would be removed immediately after pressing the cross button, rather than after agreeing to a prompt
- Fixed a bug with the sound of defrosting rooms
- Fixed a bug with restarting a Free Mode session where the game would rarely crash
- Blizzard volume is now linked to the SFX volume setting
- Fixed a bug where it was possible to start Free Mode session without selecting a difficulty
- Fixed a bug where the game speed would not slow down during the countdown that shows before a guest is missed


We are already preparing the next updates. They will include underground parking lots and a new service room - Internet Cafe.

We are also considering adding a Sandbox mode, where you can customize the game for yourself - choose parameters, for example, remove patience timers for guests, set the number of waves and their composition, and so on. The new 0.1.2 patch has been released!

[h2]Today we released a small update with fixes for the bugs we found:[/h2]

- Slightly increased exterminator speed
- Fixed a bug where snow could fall in layers
- Fixed a memory leak that was caused by overwriting saves
- Fixed display of leaderboard button in the free mode panel. Earlier it was sometimes missing
- Fixed small bugs in interface buttons
- Fixed localization in German in some places


We are working on the next update, in which some of your suggestions will be implemented. We can already confirm the following features: active pause, different types of elevators (for staff/guests/all at once), manager in Free Mode and others.

The first fix 0.1.1 is here!

We have released the first fix. It addresses the problem with exterminators disappearing. At the same time, a more serious patch 0.1.2 with other fixes and improvements has already been sent for internal testing. We will most likely release it in the coming days.
