In the meantime, we're currently working on adding more cosmetic options to the game following the last major update which introduced hats and customisable chambers. We've also updated our store page to better reflect the personality of the game.

That's all for now. Thanks!

Robot Cosmetic Update

This update introduces cosmetics so you can add a little decoration to your robot! The two main types are hats and chambers, but the groundwork has also been laid for celebration emotes.

To customise your robot, simply click on it on the main menu, and you will be taken to the cosmetic screen.
Current Cosmetic Items
There are 9 hats to get you started, with more on the way. This includes classics like the tophat and cowboy hat, and some interesting pieces, including the traditional chef toque and the subtle bent antenna. I've been using the hard hat myself.

The chambers are a unique cosmetic in Robot Trivia Funtime. These are the big columns behind each robot that flash whenever buttons are pressed and answers are revealed. The default chamber has gone from a solid blue to a pinkish water. There's also two other chambers you can select at the moment: midnight glitter, which is a very moody effect, or peachy robots, featuring tiny robots suspended in water. Don't worry, they can't feel a thing... presumably.

Celebrations are the next step. This will allow you to pick a custom emote to be played at the end of the game if you win the round. For now, there are no additional celebrations to pick from.

New cosmetics will be added in subsequent updates. They are ready to use, unlocked and included as part of the game. This update is rolled out in our Windows and Linux versions of Robot Trivia Funtime, but is not currently available in the demo.
Changelog
• Added avatar customisation UI (click the robot on the main menu!)
 • Added 9 hats: tophat, paper, mortarboard, antenna, feathered, cowboy, hard hat, crown, chef toque
 • Added 3 chambers: water, midnight glitter, peachy robots
 • Adjusted shadow and smoothing on some UI elements
 • Quiz button glass texture now shows non-selected answers
 • Quiz chamber default texture replaced with water chamber
 • Game view slightly adjusted vertically

Robot Trivia Funtime for Linux Now Available

We're excited to announce that Robot Trivia Funtime is now available on Linux, bringing cross-platform multiplayer to the game. We're joining the growing number of indies who want to support Linux gaming and understand the importance of offering native support.

For simplicity, Robot Trivia Funtime officially supports Ubuntu 24.04. However, unofficially we've found it works on versions as far back as 20.04. With a Linux demo now available, we recommend any crafty users of other distros test it first.

We're in early access and this is a major update, so we appreciate any feedback as the Linux build goes live.
Update to Demo Edition
This week we released a free demo version of Robot Trivia Funtime. We're bringing the demo version to Linux, too, so players can get a taste of how the game works and test it on their system.

The demo version offers single-player mode with a selection of our 5 bots, access to the question editor, and comes with two question packs. To access multiplayer, exporting question packs, and more content, support the project by grabbing the full version.

The update released today brings a number of fixes and UI improvements.
What's Next
Player customisation remains the focus of development. This is a big mechanic which requires a lot of work, but we're hoping to share a rudimentary implementation of this soon.
Get a Bundle Discount
We've put together the Silcon Kiwi Bundle, offering 10% off if you buy the set. This is a great way to get a discount if you're also interested in our novelty piano toy, or if you already own one of our products.
