Quality of life update - Changelog 2025-03-20

Dear players,

We've released a big quality-of-life update of Dawnmaker at the end of last week, and a minor update with bug fixes today. Here are the major changes these updates bring:

Added an option, when picking a character, to enable infinite retries. This option allows you to replay regions you lost as many times as you like, and prevents losing a run.
Reworked a bunch of interfaces (as part of our work on the mobile version). For example, the Character selection screen has been completely revamped, and buildings in the market are now in a separate column and with miniatures instead of the full card.
Enabled the Steam Overlay.
And a bunch of small bug fixes!

As usual, we thank you for playing Dawnmaker! We hope we'll keep receiving your feedback, either on the Steam forums, on our Discord server, or via the F8 key in the game.

[h2]Gameplay[/h2]

[bug] Made sure the Recycling house will not stop triggering when activating adjacent buildings.
Made the first draft after each Aerostation level up offer Eclairium-producing buildings.
Added an option, when picking a character, to enable infinite retries. This option allows you to replay regions you lost as many times as you like, and prevents losing a run.
[bug] Prevented unlocking the third character when finishing the tutorial.
[bug] Prevented having the same wonder as a reward for multiple regions.

[h2]Quality of life[/h2]

Moved the market into a separate column to the right of the screen.
Changed how buildings look in the market, to show them with a bigger illustration and name but no rules or types.
Reworked the Character selection screen to make it prettier and better organized.
[bug] Fixed the wrong font being used for character names in the Character selection screen.
Reworked the Settings screen and made it accessible via a button from everywhere in the game.
Made your hand be highlighted when targeting a card.
Added a counter in the tooltip of buildings that care about the number of cards played during a turn.
Added a setting to change the font size.
Enabled the Steam Overlay.
[bug] Hiding a modal only hides the latest opened one instead of all the modals.
Added buttons to buy buildings and cards in the Airship.
Moved the "No building" button when drafting a building to the bottom bar.
[bug] Prevented activating the main action when pressing Enter while a modal is open.

[h2]Content[/h2]

Updated the rules of the Automated field building to make it clearer that it always adds 1 🌱 even if there are no adjacent fields.
