A Minor Update for the Autumn Sale

Dear players,

We also have a minor update for you today, including little quality of life improvement and some bug fixes. Here comes the very small changelog:

  • [bug] Prevented unlocking the third character when finishing the tutorial.
  • [bug] Prevented having the same wonder as a reward for multiple regions.

  • Added a counter in the tooltip of buildings that care about the number of cards played during a turn.

The Characters Major Update

Dear players,

We are proud to announce that we have just released a major update of Dawnmaker, including the long-awaited undo button, a whole lot of new content, and… characters!



Start a new game of Dawnmaker today and meet Sibille, Cassian and Théa. Each has a specific starting deck and starting roster of buildings, as well as a difficulty indicator. Sibille is the one you know if you've played the game already: she likes fields and wonders. Cassian is more of science guy: he likes activation buildings and spending science to generate luminoil. Théa has a passion for harvesting and… destroying buildings! She's the hardest to play with and should present a nice challenge for those looking for increased difficulty.

Changelog for the Characters Update - 2024-10-07


[h2]Gameplay[/h2]
  • Added 2 new characters with their unique starting deck and roster. Choose the character you want to play with at the start of a run. Win a game with one of the two first characters to unlock the third one!
  • Added buttons to refresh the buildings or cards in the Airship market. You can refresh each content once per region, for a cost of 5 gold.
  • Fixed activations of the Aerostation, Ruins and Shipwrecks not triggering adjacent "on activation" effects.
  • Put more ruins in early regions to allow for more opportunities to discover buildings.


[h2]Quality of life[/h2]
  • Added an undo button! You can roll back all the way to the last action that revealed new information, by pressing the button in the bottom left corner or by hitting Ctrl + Z. Actions revealing new information or including some randomness cannot be undone: drawing cards, refreshing the market, exploring a ruin or a shipwreck, etc.
  • Added a dialog to confirm that you want to start a new game when you already have one going.
  • Improved text rendering for cards with long rules.

MacOS and many improvements - Changelog 2024-08-09

Dear players,

First we want to address our warmest thank you to all of you for the incredible reception you gave Dawnmaker! We've received a ton of great feedback about what you liked and what was frustrating to you, and this is really heartwarming. We've spent 2.5 years of our lives working on this title, finally seeing people from far away or close by playing the game and enjoying it is the best feeling. ❤️

On to today's update: we're very happy to announce that Dawnmaker is now available on MacOS! We hope Apple enthusiasts will enjoy playing on their favorite computer. Let us know if you have any problems with the game!

As I mentioned, we also received a lof of feedback about what was frustrating in Dawnmaker. Today we're releasing a first update that addresses many of these frustrations. Check the full changelog for a comprehensive list of what we changed.

  • Added a link to another region from the first region. Losing the 2nd region won't mean the end of the run anymore.
  • Added wonders as a reward for 3 regions.

  • Added a new FX around the aerostation when it can be activated to win.
  • Added an option to switch from fullscreen to windowed.
  • Made the Airship tab be open by default after securing a region.
  • Added a delay after the end turn button becomes usable again, to avoid accidental double-clicking.
  • [bug] Made sure that buildings are sorted by level in the buildings roster view.
  • [bug] Fixed a missing translation when exploring a ruin.

Changelog 2024-07-29 - Japanese available and a playtest on Steam

Dear players,

We are very excited to announce that Dawnmaker will be available in Japanese on its release day, July 31st! It will come alongside the English and French translations. Japanese is already available in the demo: play it now. ;)

We've also just shipped one last update before the release, with a big gameplay change, shiny new frames for the cards, bug fixes and some minor balancing on the content. And we're using this opportunity to start a playtest of the full game, open to anyone and everyone starting… now! The playtest will be open for about 24 hours, so if you want to give it a go before the release, and help us make sure there are no bugs in the game, now is your time.

To playtest the game, go to the store page of Dawnmaker, and click "Request access" in the playtest box. That's it, you'll then get to play the game as much as you like for the next 24 hours. Let us know what you think about the game here, in our Discord server or by pressing F8 anywhere in the game!
