Patch 1.0.0.8b

PATCH 1.0.0.8b

HOTFIX UPDATE (1.0.0.8b):
- Fixed a bug where interacting with people could lead to unintended things happening.

------

New patch!
Fixes some quite critical bugs, most notably one with a certain hitchhiker's quest since last patch.

- Fixed the flag-upgrades so they work correctly now. Used to give EXTRA discount when you installed them and also when you loaded the game. (note they gave too much discount before. They should give a 20% discount.
- Pressing "I" to open your trunk while driving now stops the car as if you would've selected it from the car menu.
- Fixed kicked hitchhikers showing up at destinations
- Fixed CD player description (it was outdated and reflected the demo player)
- Might've fixed the "Not-so-fullscreen"-bug or whatever to call it. I've added a little work-around that could help for those who've had issues with the game launching in a smaller screen with the mouse-cursor being hard to control. This is a quite experimental work-around but I hope it would help some.
- Fixed a bug where cafe-bought coffee would crash the game when it got cold.

spoiler patch-notes:

- Fixed so "the Hiker" doesn't return as level 1.
- Fixed a bug where the Race was unable to start when certain conditions happened at the same time.
- If you arrive in the city where grandma is when you get the Inheritance quest, she will be there!
- After you've talked to grandma, she'll disappear after you've rested or worked in the same city.
- Fixed so the Punk club appears correctly now. Note that if you're already in the city where the club should be, you'll have to go back and forth in order for the club to appear.
- Completing the Punk's quest should no longer also give you a "Quest failed"-message.
- Fixed the name of "Festival Kit" in the unlock message you get when completing "The Festival

PATCH 1.0.0.7

Another patch up (should be available shortly, it's already live on the test branch)! Thanks for all the feedback and bug-reports. If you encounter some serious bug please don't hesitate to write about it. Added some QOL-updates to the inventory this time around: The ability to move things to your extra-space form the right-click-menu and to rotate an item that you're holding by pressing the "R"-key.

Here are the patch notes:

- Fixed a rare crash for some players when loading a game in rain
- Muscle car's description now correctly says 3 passenger seats
- You can now rotate an item while holding it and pressing "R". This also works when holding an item from a shop!
- Fixed crash when trying to use a cd from the glovebox. (you can no longer use cds from there)
- When shift-clicking to buy something with the extra-space active, the item will move to the extra space instead of the trunk. (same with items outside of the trunk)
- Added "MOVE" as an option to the item-right-click-menu. This will swap an item to the extra-space (if you have any). If used from extra-space it will move the item back to the inventory.
- When using an item in the extra-space that spawns a "new" item (like baguette or jerry-cans) they will stay there.
- The dimensions of the roof-racks are now correct in the item-description
- No more raining in the desert

- Punk club is no longer in ALL cities (only the city specified in his quest)

Patch 1.0.0.3b

HOTFIX (1.0.0.3b) Live!
Some rare but important issues have been addressed in this hotfix. Threw in some small fixes while I was at it as well.

- Fixed a couple of rare crashes that could happen for some players in options menu or when picking up a hitchhiker.

- changed sprites for the fender for the muscle car to fit the item-sprite.
- added more info about the roof racks in their descriptions.
- removed the "hair-effect" when checking your extra-space

--------

Patch 1.0.0.3 is now live!
There are still bugs that I am aware of and I'm working to fix them all, but wanted to get this out now, since it fixes some more common and critical issues.
Here are the patch-notes:

- Fixed crash that could happen when certain passive-effects where active at the same time
- fixed a rare crash where the options menu failed to draw the blurred game background
- fixed the driver's license in the character creation showing the wrong occupation/loadout
- fixed some tooltip displaying color codes
- fixed shoplifting not ending if you drag the item to the glovebox
- fixed so you can't lock yourself out of shops with shoplifting because of there being no 1x1-items
- fixed inventory closing, resulting in losing any items outside the trunk, when gaining a new skill tree.
- fixed the music display not updating when pressing the "prev"
- the steering wheel sleeves now actually work
- fixed rare crash when picking up a sidequest that would cause the game to crash every time you opened your trunk
- fixed bug with muscle car, where you could lower seats in a way to make hitchhikers disappear into the void

following patchnotes could be considered spoilers

- fixed bug where you could be soft-locked after winning the race
- fixed if you got the soft-lock from race, you can load your save, trigger a save by opening closing your trunk, then reload. Game should function normally again
- fixed the idiot replacing your interior upgrade with flowers AGAIN every time you load the game
- fixed so you can't go to the party cabin if you've failed the quest

Keep Driving is finally out!
Hey everyone, it’s Christopher and Josef! Today’s finally the day: Keep Driving is OUT NOW!!
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

It's hard to express how it feels releasing a game we've worked on since 2016. We failed once, put it on ice, came back to it and devoted all our effort to make it happen. It's been helluva project, much bigger than we initially thought it would be, but we're incredibly proud to finally say: IT'S OUT!

Thanks so much to all of you who have come on this ride with us in the months since we announced. When we revealed our game last fall, we would’ve never thought we’d have this much support at launch. We really hope you enjoy this game, we’ve worked so hard on making it.
What is Keep Driving?
Keep Driving is a management RPG about slowly making your way through a procedurally generated pixel art open world. Pick up hitchhikers with their own personalities and stories; upgrade, customize and repair your car. Solve challenges on the road using a unique turn-based ‘combat’ system, using your own skills and whatever’s lying around in the glovebox to make it through and explore your summer possibilities.
Road Map
We have some plans for the future of Keep Driving, though we’re not quite ready to go into specifics yet. Just know we have ideas for more features, and we’re also planning more languages and controller support. Let us know what you think re: things you’d like to see! We’ll keep a close eye on feedback and look forward to adding new content.

Twitter/Blusky and join our Discord to keep up with our post-launch updates! And be sure to tell your friends if you like our game, it means so much to a two person team like ours. Every bit helps! 🙂 And please leave a review if you enjoy Keep Driving!

Sincerely,
Josef & Christopher
