Out of Ammo? Meet the Sidearms That Could Save Your Life in Dreadweave

Hello everyone! We got deeply immersed in game development and missed a few update releases.

Today, we’re going to share some information about the weapons that will help you in the early stages of surviving the dark and dangerous world of Dreadweave. Specifically, we'll talk about sidearms—the pistols—that will save you when you run out of ammo for your primary weapon.
Makarov Pistol
A simple 9mm pistol with an 8-round magazine and basic damage. It’s available right from the start and will be your irreplaceable companion. It can use standard 9×18mm PM rounds, as well as armor-piercing and upgraded ammo.
Stechkin Automatic Pistol
A step up from the Makarov. While it uses the same 9×18mm PM rounds, it boasts an impressive magazine size and an automatic firing mode. This weapon will serve you well in many encounters with monsters and will save your life more than once.
TT Pistol
Although this pistol is quite old—it dates back to the 1930s—it’s better to have any weapon than none in a harsh winter world. Especially one chambered for the powerful 7.62×25mm round, including armor-piercing variants that will take down any demon from the otherworld.
Nagant Revolver
An old but classic revolver, chambered for the 7.62×38mm round. Its high power (though not quite like the TT) makes it effective against nearly any monster. However, its slow reload time might complicate things in a tight spot.

These are the pistols you’ll come across in our game. Of course, there will be plenty of primary weapons to help you fight off creatures from the other dimension. Until next time!

Will You Find Safety in the Bunker?

Hello everyone,

Today we’ll be talking about the player’s primary safe haven and secure place — your base or bunker.

The only safe place and refuge for the player is underground. While the monsters can still sense your heartbeat, the environment is much calmer and safer, which ensures the character’s safety. In the bunker, you’ll take quests, craft, manage your loot, read logs, study information, and much more.
Why a bunker?
After arriving in the bleak northern city, our character quickly realizes that survival on the surface is impossible. The extremely low temperatures and dangerous monsters leave no safe spot in the city. The only reasonable solution is to find an entrance to the underground communications of the secret city — a system that connects the entire area.

Underground, it’s warmer, and you don’t have to fear monster attacks as much. It also reduces stress and physical strain, allowing you to escape the main threat — the monster that can sense your heartbeat. In the bunker, you can generate electricity, set up basic shelter, gather items you’ve found, and much more.
What can you do in the bunker?
In the bunker, players will be able to receive quests, read logs related to missions or the game’s world, store items, and manage them across different storage areas. You can also rest.

We are also developing a base upgrade system, where you can use resources to install various devices that give in-game bonuses. For example:

 • Storage – Increases loot and item storage capacity, allowing you to bring more valuables from raids. Can be upgraded to increase capacity.
 • Bed – Increases hit points at the start and grants temporary buffs to stamina or speed.
 • Kitchen – Craft food to restore health and stay warm.
 • Workbench – Crafting and repairs.
 • Gym – Improves overall physical endurance.
 • Desk and Radio Station.
 • Shooting Range.

Each device will have multiple levels, requiring more resources to upgrade from level to level, but you will receive more bonuses as you improve them.

The bunker will also feature various interactive objects.
How do you enter the bunker?
You start the game in the bunker, take a mission, and head to the surface. You can either try to complete the task or start gathering resources around you. Once the session begins, the map will display an exit point — a hatch into the underground communications. The exit will be in a random location, and after extraction, you’ll return to your bunker.

We deliberately avoided having a single, fixed entry point for increased replayability.
Can the monster enter the bunker?
Good question. While you are underground, you’re still in the same city, and the monster can sense your heartbeat. You are relatively safe, but who knows...

So, you’ve learned more about surviving in the world of Dreadweave. Make sure to use this knowledge to outsmart the monster! See you next time.

Can You Stay Warm Without Becoming Monster Food?

Hello everyone, let's continue sharing more about our game. I would like to discuss the weather and the surrounding world in today's update.

As you already know, the setting of Dreadweave is a snowy town in the icy wastelands of the north. The town was built as the northernmost port on the continent, and due to its remoteness, it has become an ideal location for conducting secret experiments. Who among spies would be interested in such a desolate place?

What kind of weather can we expect in such picturesque locations and how will we keep warm?
In the town, it is so cold that boiling water thrown into the air instantly turns to ice
All I can say is that you must survive in the cold. The extreme north is an unforgiving place, so you'll have to equip yourself with warm clothing. In the real world, it's cold, the weather is often unpredictable, and your time is limited by the temperature gauge. Running warms you up but increases your heartbeat, which could attract monsters, so maintaining a balance is crucial.

But how will you stay warm, you ask? Initially, we wanted to implement crafting campfires or something typical like in other survival games, but then we realized it would be too distracting. Here's how it will work in the game for now: there are pre-placed campfires on the map, a small portion of which are already burning (leftovers from previous unfortunate survivors who tried to keep warm). This means you can find lit campfires and warm yourself by them, or you can light a fire yourself, but for that, you'll need the "matches" item, which cannot be crafted and must be found.
The weather can change unpredictably at any moment during the game
In addition to the cold, we will also face unpredictable weather, which can shift from clear skies to an icy blizzard at any moment. The game features several types of weather:

 1. Clear/Cloudy: When the snow has somewhat settled, visibility is excellent, and the cold isn't too severe. With warm clothing, you won't freeze too much.
 2. Light Snow: The snow falls slowly, and it’s still not too cold.
 3. Blizzard: Comes on suddenly, quickly covering everything around. The player's speed decreases, and it gets colder due to the piercing wind.

Harsh? Indeed. But we are in the extreme north, after all. One significant advantage of the snow is that monsters leave tracks in it, allowing you to detect them in advance.
Day and night cycle
But it's not just the changing weather that awaits us in the game; there is also a dynamic day and night cycle. At night, it will certainly be colder, and heaven forbid you find yourself in a snowstorm at night when visibility is poor, and the temperatures are much lower. The time of day will persist based on your gameplay. This means if you leave the town, you'll return at the same time, plus any time spent at your base.
And what about the wrong side?
Alright, you might say, we understand it's cold, and we need to dress warmly, but what about the flip side? Although the flip side doesn’t have a piercing cold, your time there will still be limited because the air in that alien world is toxic, and humans can't stay there for too long. You'll need to find a gas mask to extend your time in that environment.

So, you’ve learned even more about surviving in the world of Dreadweave. Be sure to use this knowledge to avoid freezing and to deal with the monsters! See you next time.

Why you should remember about Singular Relocator before every mission

Hello everyone, in our first monthly update about the game, I'd like to tell you about the portals, how they work, and how to use them.

As you know, in the grim world of Dreadweave, there are two sides - the snowy, cold city of reality and its dark counterpart in the inverse world. But how do you move between these two worlds to complete quests? That’s where portals come in.
What are these portals, where do they come from and why
Let's start with how they appeared and reveal a bit of the game's lore. During secret experiments on exploring the mysteries of the universe in the city of Zoryanovsk (Makarov-6), a breakthrough into a parallel dimension was achieved. The research got out of control and allowed another world, and its inhabitants, to break into ours...
Man-made portal
In each game session on the map, you can find an installation that creates a stable portal that transfers you to the "inverse" side. You will find yourself at the same point but in a different world. Due to the peculiarities of dimensions and instability of the passages, you cannot return immediately through this portal, so keep this in mind during your travels. To use the portal, you need first to find it on the map, and hints will help you do this.
Transfer after death
During many years of research in quantum physics and attempts to create controllable portals between dimensions, an experimental prototype known as the "Prototype X-Transfer" ("Singular Relocator") was developed. However, due to instability and uncontrollable variables in quantum calculations, the device unexpectedly began to activate under certain extreme conditions.

Thus, another type of portal can be called the transfer of a player to the "inverse" world after death. The working principle is simple - when the player dies, they find themselves in the same point in a parallel world and this is where the most interesting part begins...
Portal exit from the inverse world
After landing in the "inverse" world, there is only one way to get out of there - find a temporary portal window, which appears at a random point in the world of the inverse and remains active for a limited time. After transfer, the "Prototype X-Transfer" generates unstable quantum-energetic waves, known as the "returning echo effect". This effect temporarily disrupts the stability between the dimensions, creating a portal through which the player must go to return to the real world.

But remember that the device has only a few charges and you will not be able to move indefinitely, and given what awaits you on the "inverse" side, you will probably not want to return there again.

Now that you're more familiar with how portals work in the game, you've increased your chances of survival in the grim world of Dreadweave. Be sure to leverage this knowledge for your next adventure—good luck and see you in the next update!
