Optical lenses can enhance the light intensity and waveform of searchlights and flares. Similarly it can be mounted on lighting towers to help defend against xenomorphs more efficiently.
Equipment Effect: (LV1) Lighted areas deal +8 damage per second (lighting tower area, flare area, main character light area)
[Archive] We were on a cleanup mission on a planet in the S-19 timeline when we discovered a modified lighting tower. Someone had adjusted the intensity and waveform of the light with a very sophisticated optical lens to help the lighting tower defend against the xenomorphs more efficiently. With our current technology we were unable to cut and polish such a perfect lens, so after cleaning up the planet we took the lens back. After all, there was no longer any point in leaving it on this long-deserted planet, so we might as well let it continue to shine on the battlefield.
